At the time of my first review we were new to the area and did not realize Lizzie's had moved to Judson. Went today and service was friendly, food was quick and cooked to perfection. Hash browns were a little greasy but everything was hot and fresh. read more

Stay away from here if you love real food. Came in Boss Lady and we almost left, we should have. The hostess was kind and sweet. But that's where the good stuff ends. We were seated and the first thing I saw on the table was fake syrup, non-butter and creamer. It may cost a bit more to get real food, but it's worth it. A little behind on these reviews due to life. The next several reviews were during my wife and I's Diamond Bessie Trip to Marshall and Jefferson in Northeast Texas. We tried as often as we could to eat at local places and as my wife is a HUGE lover of breakfast we almost always started there. This place was close to our hotel and seemed fun. It had a 50's diner look and feel. Lots of decor in that style which I have pictures of and the shopping area it was in was small. So starting our journey in our first full day we head to this place with almost no knowledge of what to expect. The doors have a brightly painted Jukebox with the hours 7 am to 2 pm above it makes both a fun greeting and clearly marked hours which is nice. There is also lots of parking something you forget is a thing we you live in Austin. The menu has a picture of the diner old school Denny's look and the slogan "Food so good, you'll be coming back for more!" Not sure if that is a challenge or a promise. As a family diner there is no alcohol so Shana got a water and coffee and I got my usual water and Dr. Pepper. Our waitress was an older lady who while not mean came off as impatient? Put out? I don't really know how to describe it, She knew most everyone that came in and talked to them, maybe it was due to us being outsiders. Again not mean or rude just a vibe we got. Refills were sporadic on the drinks The decor was 50's vibe with metal walls, pictures of Elvis and Monroe, quotes right out of the 50's. A jukebox that was just for show, it was a busy place decor wise but fun. The tablecloths were pink and white, and they had a jug of syrup at the table from Hungry Jack. There were 4 different kinds of jam/jellies to choose from which was cool. Now on to the food! I got what I usually get as such places, whatever there version of the standard or American breakfast for that place. Sunny side up eggs, bacon, sausage, toast. Sometimes pancakes but not the case here which is fine as I can never finish them anyway. As was to become normal on this trip the sausage was better than the bacon which was both surprising and disappointing as I love good bacon. It wasn't bad just the sausage was better. The meal was tasty and filling so I can't complain. Shana got a Hobo Scramble which is 3 eggs, bacon, home fries, onions, bell peppers, and chesse all in the same skillet with a biscuit but you can get toast instead. She really liked the biscuit though so that may be the way to go, and enjoyed the hobo scramble. Overall it was very good, a cute place with good food but it feels like it prefers its regulars to visitors or outsiders. Not in the cliche you should leave town way or like we were Rambo in part 1 but you could tell this was a place were everyone knew everyone and came here not just to eat but catch up with the staff and each other. The place was cute though the fans had an abnormal amount of blades which was weird. The prices are more than reasonable and the food is good. It seems like a popular place. read more

Stopped by for lunch on our #tiki triathlon while traveling. After shopping at Treasures this little dinner was next door. Nothing better than a plate of pancakes and Chicken Fried Steak Breakfast. Scrambled eggs, biscuit, gravy and home fries was Tiki Hubby choice. My pancakes fluffy and delicious. Chicken fried steak was fresh with a crispy coating and creamy gravy. Eggs cooked perfectly. Our waitress (I did not get her name) was so much fun shared the daily specials. Cute little dinner opened for breakfast and lunch. read more

Poor quality ingredients (margarine and cheapest eggs) along with dishes that are straight out of a failed geriatric bland old folks home. Diner special you ask? $21 for a fried piece of catfish sliced in half to pose as two pieces. They skimp to save money and it's gotten so bad. I'll never go back - much better elsewhere out there. Stepped in here last month during a work trip and was pleasantly surprised. We came in looking for a local business to support while in a new part of Texas and definitely felt welcome here! The food was traditional, breakfast, food, eggs, hashbrowns, bacon biscuits. The food was good, nothing spectacular but comforting to say the least. Everyone was very friendly and they certainly had a good crowd of people coming in and out on a weekday morning. I ate here once before the pancakes were wonderful. Today a strange flavor, I found. I cut into only a fourth of one pancake. Yuck. Then I did not finish the quarter . Yet they tried to charge me for tasting the pancake. Then this unrelated waitress said I ate 3/4 of the pancake. Where did she come from anyway. I called in manager and they took the charge off. Food here isn't awful, but it's not good either. you'd think as a diner the food would be great homemade food, well, it does taste homemade, like a 4 year old made it. except that 4 yr old would've made it better. customer service isn't much better either. They have a sign outside saying if you order breakfast each egg is .50 extra. I haven't personally noticed an egg price hike yet in Longview, I get cage free pasture raised at Sams club and it's the same price it has been for months. Im pretty sure the eggs purchased for Lizzy's are not cage free pasture raised and I just don't see why this is necessary at this time. Also other customers were complaining about it while we were eating and when we arrived a customer pointed it out to me. The service was good but the food was OK. I have visited Lizzy's many times but it's just not as good lately. Hope things turn around for them because there aren't very many mom and pop breakfast places in Longview. Would hate to lose another one. read more

Place was busy at 9 AM this Friday. I was served coffee and water, order taken right away. Refilled before I could ask. 5/5 Portions (home fries) were small. Toast was over toasted and very dry. Eggs (over easy) were perfect. I ordered bacon that wasn't delivered. I could have said something but I didn't mind. I wanted to get in and out. 3.5/5 Never received check. Nobody was receiving their check. I sat and watched for 10 minutes. So that's fine, we will suss it out at the register. They wanted to charge me for bacon, I said I didn't receive it no big deal. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. i bought breakfast from here and they forgot my breakfast MEAT (who forgets breakfast meat) i ordered 3 eggs instead got 2. I was sharing with my 3 year old. i told them i couldn't come back today i was working. i was told i could come another day for an egg and side of bacon. i feel like they should've made the whole plate over seeing as it was an inconvenience and incomplete meal for me. i was told the owner said NO. So, here i am making more food in between working at home. ill gladly not spend my hard earned dollars at this establishment anymore. read more

The food was "good" but due to the over all experience it did not sit well. The board had all the desserts listed as the same price and when the elderly lady brought the price difference(.80) to the attention of the wait staff they said they couldn't change it on the ticket. She got the manager and instead of fixing the price on the ticket he blamed it on a new girl and still wouldn't fix it on the customer ticket. The diner has a cool 50 decor and vibe. But they have lost a customer for life over one unfair/unkind act. I'm in management and you always make it right with the customer within reason. I say 80 cents is within reason!!! read more

Had the waffle and eggs w/grits and sausage. Waffle was good, light and fluffy. Grits were runny. Sausage was tasty and not overly salty. Eggs were ok but small. She had the western omelette, was small and not very flavorful, despite presumably being the most flavorful option. The food overall wasnt bad, it was mediocre at best. The service and price are the real downsides here. For the waffle special, western omelette, and one oj, the price was $26, plus 20% grat. That's after they decided to charge me a $1.00 for butter because they don't keep anything but vegetable oil on the table. ONE DOLLAR for butter. When I pointed this out they asked me to leave. So for ~$32 and change for a table of 2 for breakfast, I can't recommend this place for any reason. read more

We found this little gem a couple of weeks ago. My parents had wanted to go but never had. We stopped in for breakfast. The staff is very friendly. The food is so good and everything is fresh. Now my parents want to go several times a week. We have come at different times of the day and no matter what, the service and food is the best. The staff is constantly keeping the dining room clean. This is such a wonderful place to eat! I've been here twice, and we just love it! The food is fresh - not microwaved like the fish restaurant down the parking lot! They actually bake their own bread and have homemade potato chips!! The fish is hot and crispy! I haven't been to a restaurant with food as great as this since before covid happened!
