Met up with some family here for brunch and were pleasantly surprised that there was no wait, especially since we'd heard it can get pretty busy. After eating here, I completely understand why it's so popular. I ordered the BAT Benedict, it's a lightly toasted English muffin topped with cream cheese, bacon, avocado, tomatoes, and finished with a rich, delicious hollandaise sauce. It was absolutely outstanding. The coffee was just as impressive, fresh and flavorful. Everyone at the table thoroughly enjoyed their meals, and not a single plate was left with anything more than a bit of sauce. Sunday morning almost 10 am. We were seated right away. So far my impression is great. Food came and looks delicious. Sorry maybe it was because the place was busy but my fried egg was cold. So was my hubbys scrambled eggs. But putting the gravy helped warm them up. Sausage gravy very good. Bacon good and sausage was thick. I had the kids plate bacon and eggs. Hubs had the classic breakfast with an extra egg, cheese and extra sausage gravy. The place is hopping and everyone is working keeping the place running. Very friendly staff. Was in town and wanted a good ole breakfast. The Texas Cafe hit the spot! Nice interior with Texas decor everywhere. The service was spectacular. The food was incredible! I went with the chicken fried chicken, scrambled eggs, hash browns and biscuits. Everything was cooked to perfection. The chicken was moist and not heavily breaded, eggs were fluffy, hash hashbrowns crisp as I like and the biscuits were fluffy! Also, had the yogurt and fruit bowl. The fruit was fresh. My husband and I ate dinner this evening, the chicken sandwich was great! So were the sides! We also tried the crepes those were quite good as well! Service was good our waitress was extremely happy and helpful! Super cute cafe! After hearing about this establishment through social media and friends, my mom and I decided to pop in for lunch. The restaurant was clean and cutely decorated, providing an inviting atmosphere. I am, however, giving one less star because my daughter and I both separately found a short black hair in our pancakes.. whoever was cooking the pancakes today needs to wear a hair net or a better one. The first time I took my mom to The Texas Cafe, she found a hair in her coffee. They brought us fresh cups of coffee. Then she found a hair in her second last bite of her meal. I pushed my plate away immediately. The assistant manager and waitress were great about it and didn't charge us for the hairy experience. When I called the manager later that day, who had been out at the bank at the time we ate, I wanted to make sure he knew how great his staff was. He was disinterested and never apologized or mentioned the hairs in the food/coffee. I really wanted to like this place, so I went there for a birthday meal yesterday. The assistant manager and waitress recognized us immediately. I ordered the same thing I ordered that first time, as I love eggs Benedict. Suffice to say, I found myself chewing on some kind of fat within the first couple bites. When I took it out of my mouth, it was some kind of chicken fat/skin or something. Chicken was definitely not an ingredient in my meal and had no business being on my plate, let alone in my mouth. When I showed the assistant manager, she took it to show the manager. Still don't know what he looks like. They gave me a veteran's discount instead of comping my birthday meal. The manager didn't even bother to come out to speak with us. It was our second disaster of a meal at their establishment. What a terrible manager and he will do great damage to this restaurant, aside from whatever the heck is going on in the kitchen. Very disappointed, probably more with myself for choosing to go there a second time. Fool me once.... The assistant manager is wonderful. They should fire the manager and let the assistant manager run the show. As for the kitchen staff. You don't belong in a kitchen. Excellent service by Kendra, very good and friendly. The food was really good and fresh, the owner was even on hand,that was nice too. Liked the fact that the food was made fresh, we ate breakfast at about 2 pm. Bacon was wider than any I've seen , it was really good too.we went in on a Friday afternoon, not super busy but full, if u try on a weekend you will have a packed house.the manager came to several tables to check on how people were enjoying the food too, that's how we found out in conversation that the owner was sitting at the coffee bar, it has a very nice feel to the restaurant with the colors in there and decor, it fits perfect. read more

Ambiance is nice and clean. Service was vey good and friendly. Lexi was great. The food was really lacking. The fried green tomatoes were horrible. They obviously were pre breaded and frozen because they were still cold in the middle plus they didn't taste good. The pork tenderloin was tough as was the fried asparagus. Chicken fried was ok but very thin meat. Hidden charges like extra charge to put gravy on mashed potatoes. Baked chicken was moist and good seasoning. I wish them well but need to make some changes. read more
