Can't believe I waited this long to write a review for this little gem. Los Papagallo's has probably the best service in town. And the food? I've never been disappointed. ~ It seems this little joint is still trying to establish an identity, as it serves Buffalo Wings (a popular special) and hot dogs (never tried them). Truth is, everything Tex-Mex or real Mex on the menu is prepared to order. They know what they're doing in the kitchen -- and at the counter. This restaurant is mom & pop, located in the longtime spot of K&N Rootbeer (AKA Bruce's Rootbeer) on South Green. You won't find a cleaner restaurant in town. These are some awesome Barbacoa tacos. Our favorite we have tried in 7 years of eating out. Not far behind were some excellent pastor tacos. The elote enters was very good and cheesy. Chorizo tacos were good but not like above. The Beef Huarache was okay to good for us. The chips and red sauce just okay. Good atmosphere. We would easily go back. read more

This location gets 5 stars from me!! Spotted it on Yelp and decided to try it out on our road trip. We walked in and were a little confused first whether to order them sit or sit and be waited on. A lady approached us right away and told us to go ahead and sit and she would bring us menus. (They do it either way, whatever you'd rather). She explained a few things on the menu, helped us decide what we wanted to try. The food was amazing, salsa was interesting! Would highly recommend stopping in this restaurant! read more

We ordered queso but not sure there was any cheese in it. It was watery and tasteless. The nachos were more like a salad served on chips. The salsa was tasty and had nice flavor. We were hungry so it filled the void. read more

Too many options to choose from but there's something for everyone. We ordered the tacos and tons of green enchiladas. Very filling and satisfying food, almost like home cooking. Spotted many locals eating here which is always a good sign when you are traveling. Not much if you are interested in ambiance but very good service and hospitality. read more

I have been coming here for the last two years on an almost weekly basis. Previously I was a fan of El Pollo next door, but they have been in decline recently causing the switch. For a while I would just get the chicken tacos, which are excellent, but have recently started to work my way through the menu with the goal of trying everything. My favorite at this moment is the nachos which are big enough to feed a guy in his 20's and has a small salad on top of the normal nacho ingredients. read more

Oh my dearie this is the most authentic Mexican fare I've had. I wouldn't say it's completely authentic but it's not the typical Tex Mex that is doused in sour cream and Kraft cheese. Their fajita nachos are wholesome and spiced to your preference. Definitely try their elote. It's not your typical corn on the cob and my friend said it was quite like the street food he had in Cabo (haha). You should definitely try their authentic Mexican platters. Los Papagallos Pastor was delicious so we pretty much got the Pastor platter, Pastor torta and tacos, pastor huarache and a Chimichanga for the table! They also have different hot sauce flavors so definitely try it out if you like spicy. Don't let the appearance of the establishment discourage you it'll be worth the trip! We reached to Longview pretty late and a lot of restaurants were closing soon. Luckily Los Papagallo was still opened. We ordered loco rice and pollo ranchero. My husband said the loco rice was a bit bland but the pollo ranchero was really good, lots of flavor and tender. read more

First, let me say, the Salsa & chips are great! The customer service is wonderful, very friendly people. We ordered a Torta, the Pappas Locas, & a Chicken Quesadilla. It was excellent, my son, who doesn't care for Mexican food, actually said he enjoyed it. We will definitely be back. read more
