2/5 Stars - Very Disappointing $90 Dinner…read more Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing dining experience, especially for a $90 dinner. I'll start with the positives. The chips and salsa were excellent, the white queso was delicious, and the sodas were great. Unfortunately, that's about where the positives ended. Our waitress had absolutely no personality and seemed very uninterested in providing good service. We weren't checked on regularly, chips and drinks weren't kept refilled, and we were never really asked if we needed anything else. We had requested an extra plate so our boys could split their meal, but it never arrived. We ended up asking two different employees walking by for extra napkins and the plate. Even then, we still never got the plate and ended up using a small saucer from another dish. Our silverware rolls also contained only forks. No knives or spoons. Now, the food. I've eaten plenty of fajitas in my life, and this was the first time I can remember being served fajitas that weren't even sizzling when they arrived. In fact, the food was barely above room temperature. What makes that even stranger is how quickly our meals came out. The food arrived surprisingly fast, yet somehow wasn't hot. The beef in both the fajitas and papa nachos was unbelievably tough. We ate maybe half of it because several pieces were so difficult to chew that we literally had to spit them back out. That's completely unacceptable for a restaurant charging these prices. Another thing worth mentioning is the additional charge for paying with a card instead of cash. Apparently, it's mentioned in the small print on the menu, but unless you're specifically looking for it, it's pretty easy to overlook. All said and done, we spent around $90 for a dinner that was a huge disappointment. I'm not expecting five-star dining at a Mexican restaurant, but I do expect hot food, tender meat, decent service, and the basic necessities to enjoy a meal with my family. The chips, salsa, queso, and sodas were the only things keeping this from being a one-star review. For $90, I expected a whole lot better. Unfortunately, we won't be rushing back.

Today family decided on Mexican food and we came across Margaritas. Light bulb went off. I remember the place being really good. We decided to place a to-go order and let me tell you that was the best decision we have made in a while. The appetizer sampler One shredded chicken quesadilla, an order of ground beef nachos, two flautas with pico de gallo and guacamole. The child ordered this as her main meal because she loves variety and it had everything she absolutely loves. She said the quesadilla was her favorite and could not stop talking about it. Cheese enchilada dinner You have a choice of topping it with chili con carne or queso. It is served with rice and beans. I had it topped with the chili con carne and it was delicious. I absolutely love cheese enchiladas and I'm very picky about them. So when I enjoy them the restaurant is doing something right. You get two cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. The rice and beans were delicious. Both tasted homemade and both were wonderful. I was kind of sad when I didn't have any more left on my plate. Crispy Taco dinner plate Two hard shell tacos filled with ground beef, lettuce, tomatoes, shredded cheese served with a side of rice and beans. These hard shell tacos were perfect. They did not fall apart when you took a bite out of them. The ground beef was very flavorful and the lettuce, tomato and cheese offered a nice refreshing touch. We also ordered a side of chips and red salsa and I would definitely recommend you get an order to go with your meals. Their salsa is delicious, not spicy, just a nice sweet fresh taste to it. The chips are thin and oh so crispy and dipped into the salsa they hold up very good. Price wise they're perfect. Most meals will run you between $10 and $15. And believe me you give plenty of food for your money. And if you have a really super picky person in your group, they also serve American dishes. They have chicken tenders, hamburger, chicken sandwich or the famous chicken fried steak You can find all over Texas. All of these meals are served with french fries. Oh, and I definitely recommend you get yourself a bowl of drunken soup. Share it between two people or just have it as your meal for one person. It's a combination of charro beans, taco meat, onions, tomatoes, cheese and jalapenos. It is so good and I highly recommend it.
