Heading to breakfast at another place and the outdoor appeal and lots a customers made me decide to give it a try. I'm glad I did. Pride of ownship shows from being sparkling clean, friendly staff and best of all the best huevos rancheros around. Excellent various hot sauces to try also.

Do not recommend at all! Sat down to eat and we received stale chips. Although the salsa was good, eating it with stale chips was not. We asked for fresh chips and still got stale chips. We also ordered white queso that wasn't too great. We decided we didn't want to eat there and were charged $23. That is outrageous!

Plain chili relleno burrito. Taste great but try as a big burrito with other ingredients. yummmy

Thank god for places like this... As a vegetarian and a picky eater i was able to modify my order with out an issue. Alot of places make it difficult. The ladies of the establishment were pleasant. They even had black beans available which many places in East Texas don't have unfortunately. I didn't order any meat so they gave me a discount which sold me and I am very appreciative. I inquired about making other dishes for my next visit and to my surprise upon receiving my order they made me a sample of the dish i inquired about for free... The food was authentic and delicious and i will return for more. Highly recommend

Super clean restaurant with fast & friendly service. The food was delicious! Lots of items on the menu that are not traditional TexMex. (I tried something new.) Prices are reasonable and portions are large. I noticed a number of customers requesting a "to go" box. I needed one also and had another fantastic lunch the next day. I'll definitely go back and bring my family.

If you're on a high protein diet, don't come here because you will pay for a full meal when you were just only looking for 1/2 pounds of steak taco meat. $16 for this!? Really..?

I always find it disappointing when I begin writing a review for a small town diner such as Circle…read moreCafe and find that another gypsy soul has beat me to it! I mean, I purposely go out of my way on road trips to eat at these fine establishments... let me be first! Anyway, I rolled in early one Saturday morning on my way back into the promised land, also known as Texas. The joint was poppin' with construction workers, retired folk, and the good ol' locals of Kilgore. That is why I love coming to these home-grown joints; everyone knows everyone. Believe me; I do my best to look like local when eating. My local alias was blown when I asked "what are Western hash browns." Luckily, my server did not show any sort of "you are not a local" attitude! That is certainly because this little diner truly does spit out southern hospitality on all cylinders. The order of Western hash browns offered an enormous plate of shredded, griddled potatoes, COVERED in a layering of cheese, with onions, tomato, and bell pepper interspersed within the finely sliced tubers. The damage? A whopping... $2.50. Welcome to Texas. The biscuit and gravy, at ~$2, was a fantastic addition. The sausage at the bottom was not mixed into the gravy, unfortunately, but at least the sausage was meaty, and the gravy was spot-on. Together, they made a sloppy, but delicious accompaniment to my starchy Southern staple. The final verdict? $5. Thus, 5 stars. I don't know in what earthly circumstance you would find yourself in Kilgore, TX, but I would certainly extend a recommendation of Circle Cafe to you. Even if you are not in the boondocks of East Texas... But, if you want to make a drive to eat at a small town diner, I would not look past Circle Cafe!

While traveling for work, I was looking for a place that felt uniquely Longview, and The Butcher…read moreShop & Bakery was exactly what I was hoping to find. The restaurant was busy with families enjoying dinner, and the back room was completely booked for what looked like a birthday party. It's the kind of place that immediately feels like a community staple. The menu is full of American classics, and I went with the spicy cheeseburger. Overall, it was really good. My only minor complaint was that the jalapeños were sliced a little thick, so they kept slipping out of the burger. One thing I loved was the old-school condiment bar where you can customize your burger just the way you like it. After dinner, I couldn't pass up the bakery case. The cookies, cakes, and pies all looked fantastic. The employee recommended the Heathen Cookie, so I grabbed one along with a lemon icebox cookie to enjoy later. I always appreciate finding local restaurants that are clearly supported by the community, and this is one of those places. If you find yourself in Longview, The Butcher Shop & Bakery is well worth a visit for both the food and the hometown atmosphere.

Dang!! Butcher Shop, you need to do better. Customer service matters, and paying customers…read moreshouldn't have to deal with rude, disrespectful employees. We stopped in on Thursday around 5:30 p.m. hoping to grab some salted caramel cookies, but they were sold out. So my husband ordered three Heath cookies and three white chocolate macadamia nut cookies instead. When the employee handed us our order, there was only one white chocolate macadamia nut cookie. My husband politely let her know that he had ordered three. Instead of simply saying, "Oops, let me fix that," she immediately argued that he had only asked for one. When he asked for the other two cookies, she gave us an obvious attitude. I honestly don't understand why. It's not like we were asking for free cookies--we paid for the other two. Maybe she was annoyed that she had to ring them up separately, but regardless, that isn't how customers should be treated. We stayed polite the entire time. We didn't raise our voices or give her any attitude back. It was disappointing to be treated that way over such a simple mistake. Experiences like this leave a bad impression, and my husband said that was the last time he'll shop at this location. The really disappointing part is that they make some damn good cookies. It's a shame that great products are being overshadowed by poor customer service.
