The food is delicious., Got myself the torta twice on both one per visit. Goes great with the side of queso. Tried the tacos with all three different meats and just the right size to keep your appetite up for another dish or just enough as a small serving to satisfy and not overindulge depending on how you want to eat. Queso and chips are always a good classic. Tried out the wine-rita, three out of the four flavors, watermelon first, strawberry second and lime third. Service was stellar, friendly, and appropriately attentive. Take your dates, parties or events here. It's a cozy small venue, so don't go too crazy. The only concern I would state even though it's not a true issue would be the parking part myself, but I would be preemptive and make sure it's enough for whatever you have planned. Safe to say that I will be back. A couple more things to try or to revisit and enjoy for a good nights sleep.

The salsa was superb, some of the best ever. To make it perfect for my taste, I added a few drips of lemon juice and a little salt. It was so good that I purchased some extra to take with me. A significant disappointment was the stale chips, something that had been noted in other reviews. It's hard to imagine why a simple chip warming oven wouldn't be a quick purchase to remedy this. The tacos were okay, but the birilla one was inexplicably tough. I'm not sure how that happened, since the meat was shredded, but there it was. The beef enchiladas were delicious, as was the red sauce. The accompanying beans and rice were nothing to write home about. The star of the meal was a huge slice of tres leches cake. Oh, my word~~how could anything be this good? I would drive quite a few miles to have just this, and it was worth every penny of the eight-plus bucks on the ticket.

We were greeted and long story short, the service and food was impeccable. My coworker and I were visiting this little town, reviews restaurants on Yelp and chose this place. I don't know where the previous reviewers were getting their food, but if it's here, there must have been some grace changes. First clue this was not going to be a good experience, the chips were stale. Not normal stale, but like they knew they were stale and reheated them anyways. It was sad, because the chips were nice and thick and the salsa was pretty good. I had the Ribeye and shrimp. The ribeye was so skinny, the rice was dry, and the ranchero beans were SOUR, but the lettuce and avocado were great. We did ask for more chips with hesitancy from our waitress, but the consistent bad foods were intolerable. They do not have butter, they have some margarine(ish) yellow oil in a squeeze bottle. (So gross!) The other dish was chicken fajitas. Chicken was hot and fresh, but dry as leather (tasted like it was frozen and not fresh) and on a bed of onions. And two baby strips of bell pepper. Oh and my co workers' salsa had a few pieces of fiber or hair... it was at the end of her bowl. NOT surprisingly, we could not eat all the food, and we both were sick after eating there. Location was convenient, but I honestly can not say that either of us will go back. I despise writing bad reviews, esp. when you know people are out there trying to keep their business up and running, but honest reviews are necessary.

Located In Long View…read more Decided to stop by to see how the Mexican spots are out here compared to California. Received complimentary chips and salsa while we waited for our food. The chips were warm and yummy, the salsa wasn't as spicy as i hoped for. I ordered the carne asada fries with steak and nacho cheese for almost 13 dollars. The old bay seasoning on the fries were a surprising taste that I enjoyed very much. I'm not used to tasting fries with old bay seasoning but I grew up on the east coast where that is a norm. So it was a nice touch. The meat was tender and flavorful and the cheese was good. What I didn't like was the portion served. It's a small plate with very large fries taking up most of the plate and about 8 chopped pieces of meat. I would have figured the cost to portion ratio would have been much different. Most carne asada fries plates in Southern California are 13 dollars and take two people to finish. I finished this by myself and was still hungry. Especially being in Texas where things are less expensive and you get more bang for your buck, this was not the case. Overall. I give it a three star review.
