Sarah was great! She is an excellent manager. The food was good, and the restaurant was clean and orderly.Thank You Denny's.

Very slow to prepare food, 35+min for a burger chicken fried steak and chicken tenders. Tried to over charge for a salmon plate they were out of. read more

Poor service & poorly prepared food. Manager of the store had a really bad attitude. We were visiting with family and was greatly disappointed. read more

First off, we got seated and it took a good minute before she took our order for drinks. we had been here 50 minutes before we had actually gotten our food and there where 3 tables including ours that had people. After getting our food, the biscuit was hard as freak. When she was giving us our food, she handed me a plate that was hot without announcing that it was hot. it was mac and cheese in a bowl on a plate so i would understand the bowl being hot but not the plate bc it was the whole plate (personally doesn't bother me but if it where a younger child it might hurt their hands). plus the water tasted horrible along with the sweet tea. DO NOT RECOMMEND UNLESS YOU HAVE IMPECCABLE PATIENCE. read more

What could improve is the food my club sandwich was thrown together, and the little brunt fries that have been in oil forever. The help sucks they can't print a recipe. read more

The worst slow service. It took over an hour to get my food. I ordered the salmon dinner. It came cold, was slimy and smelled like ammonia. Ammonia is a sign of fish & seafood being rancid, so I talked to a guy named Jeremy who said that he was management, but I doubt that due to his snarky rude behavior. He refused to make me something different, and I didn't eat my food. I should have listened to the bad reviews all over online, but I thought it couldn't possibly be that bad. Boy was I wrong! You have yourself a manchild ruining your business. Never again am I stopping here. read more

gone down hill fast Slow Managers are rude Food not great Music is to loud always dirty tables Always a wait at the door read more

Worst service ever, took a while to get our table. Also for drinks and when we order our food. We waited almost half an hour and we ended up having to leave no one let us know it would be out soon. read more

Sarah the general manager was exceptional, she made sure our food was great as well as our service. We were greated and thanked for coming, seated fast. Food came fast, drinks were always full. I definitely recommend Kilgore Denny's. Clean and friendly establishment! read more

The service was nice but they only gave my mom 4 onion rings and my brother was supposed to have powdered sugar on top of his waffles but he didn't which is fine I guess. The whole thing was almost $40 dollars so the food was alright but not the greatest. read more

#79/2023 This Denny's sits right next to the truck stop off of the interstate. As of December 2023 it is currently open 24 hours. It's like any other Denny's pretty much has a very strong local clientele. I came in for breakfast Sunday morning on the 3rd of December 2023. They were a little crowded but they were able to accommodate me quite quickly I just beat the after church crowd LOL that would be coming in. First thing I ordered was a cawfee I opted for the original Grand slam. I asked for the eggs to be soft scrambled the meat choice I didn't want the bacon and the sausage I went with all sausage links. The food came out quite promptly the eggs were very nice and hot the sausage was very hot the only drawback was the pancakes were kind of cool not really hot. So on the waitress came back I mentioned that the eggs and meat were really good but the pancakes for some reason were not quite hot I didn't have to blow on them and I can put my hand on them and they were just warm to touch she said I'll get you some hot fresh ones so about 3 minutes later out they came that second round no questions asked there they were piping hot and fluffy! That was quite impressive right there in itself. This is definitely what I would call an above average Denny's and therefore it does warrant the four stars upon first visit probably since before covid I don't remember the last time I stopped into this Denny's but it's been probably 3.5 years or more. But keep up the good work they're showing a lot of signs of this one of definitely quality contrary to some of the other reviews that's my review. read more

i ordered grilled chicken salad and the chicken was so bad that i would not allow my dogs to eat it, it had to be thrown away. the most horrible experience ever. read more

Service here was amazing, My server Jaden was super attentive. The manager Makenna was super helpful with making sure everything was good. I go to multiple dennys nationwide and always have such good service! read more

This place is a joke. Bacon taste like cardboard !! The sausage didn't taste like sausages! They were so small !! I asked for no hashbrowns and no pancakes, instead a bowl of fruit. They charged me for the fruit. Wtf. The waiter did a great job that's the only thing I liked. But I will never go to Dennys again. Food is terrible. read more

Definitely a 4 star place! The morning staff that waited our table were on the ball and he was returning to all his customers to ask if we all needed anything!! That is true service and the food was great I've been a waitress before so I know the struggle! Way to go Jaden, give this young man a raise!!! read more

The place is the same as any restaurant. Pretty clean. The servers were very nice, but the food was mediocre. I got icing with a side of pancake, a side of scrambled eggs, bacon and hashbrowns. The sides weren't bad, but don't get the cinnamon pancake slam if you are likely to develop diabetes. This meal will definitely trigger that. other wise, decent food. read more

Fast service and friendly waiter. We were greeted immediately upon entering the restaurant. Drink orders were taken immediately and filled. Food was great, cooked perfectly. Was checked on frequently to make sure we were okay. Prices were decent. Great location on our drive home. read more

Usually on the road for a month at a time...hands down best Denny's, best truck stop restaurant I've eaten at anywhere! Food was amazing, service was exactly what I expect (hardly ever get that these days), and the cost was great! This is definitely my favorite place in years! read more

I have been to a lot of Denny's throughout the country. Some tend to get rundown. This is NOT one of them. Food was cooked as I asked, service was spot on. Everyone is friendly. read more

Hadn't been to this Denny's outside Kilgore TX in a while, but we wanted breakfast after hitting a few estate sales. The food was okay, took a while to get our order though. Was seated near the kitchen door which we weren't wasn't crazy about since there were many other tables open. But what floored us was the price for my wife's Dr Pepper, $3.69. Just wow. My wife said we won't be going back there. read more

My husband and I went there for breakfast and our server was FANTASTIC! She looked about 4-6 months pregnant but that didn't stop her. She was on point with everything! The food was perfect. I just went ala cart. My husband got an omelette and it was delicious! We have had a problem with service lately but not this time! read more

Our order took so long, that one of our burgers had time to drench the bread with grease. The toast for the blt was very hard, and we needed sugar tea the entire time we had our food. My nephew had to wait bc they brought the food out all separately, instead of all together. Our waitress waited on her family over real customers. The old couple who sat bg the window, got up and left. Only paid for coffee, bc they were waiting for over an hour. Worse Dennys we have ever went too. read more

I was following up on what, if any, disciplinary action or corrective measures were taken as a result of my review....After reading replies from the GM, Lee Ann , seems her responce is generic empty Assurances....Repeated over and over I will travel back through Kilgore in 5 or 6 days ,but will not stop and eat at Denny's if no recourse has actually been taken. Signed, DISAPPOINTED read more

This is the worst Denny's I have eaten at by far. I am a truck driver and have eaten at some horrible places this takes the cake for sure. Our food was cold there were maybe 4 tables other than us. 5 waitresses and so few people in the restaurant you would think it would be fresh. So disappointed!! The manager came to speak with us and took care of our bill. ( which doesn't make up for the food) I just wanted a hot meal since eating in the truck for over 2 weeks. UGH!! Not coming back for sure!! read more

Upon initial arrival, I needed to use the restroom after a long night of traveling. I went into the restroom and it didn't look as though the restroom had been cleaned yet. It was 6:20am. As I was using the restroom one of the employees went in and used the restroom as well, she left before I did and I happened to catch on to her not washing her hands. She was serving people their plates. She was the only one wearing hoop earrings. Then my daughter found a hair in her food as well. I was so grossed out that I had to force myself to eat something from there since I hadn't eaten for 10 hours of traveling on the road. I wouldn't recommend this location at all. Wish I would have seen first hand that they were only rated 2 stars. I definitely wouldn't have stopped at this location had I known they were already rated 2 stars. read more

Wonderful place to eat and work! It has been my pleasure to work here for 7 years. I am so blessed to work for such a wonderful General Manager! read more

Always cold. The store is often dirty. Servers are often unclean and service is slow. Cooks are loud and rude and staff is often found talking with others. Have also heard of an employee getting their son hired there who sells drugs in the parking lot. That part is hearsay but it more often is a restaurant I don't want to eat at. read more

Poor service. Staff have better things to do than to wait on the customers. Food brought out wrong. Drinks with floating things in them. Nasty! read more

This is my favorite breakfast restaurant after church. I ate $4 menu this morning. Gravy over biscuits, two eggs, and has browns. Our order was ready in 5 minutes. They have the best coffee. Don't forget to use your AARP card for a a 15% discount. read more

Absolutely amazing experience! Christina was our professional Server. She rocks! She took great care of us, our order was right, food was delicious! Service was amazing. read more

I was seated and given my water immediately. 50 minutes later another customer told the waitress I had not been waited on. Waitress took my order. Another 30-40 minutes later I could not get any more water. After an hour I still did not receive my food. Restaurant was not full but was busy. A party of 11 left after over 2 hours without receiving food. Would not recommend to anyone. read more

The last 3 times I have been there, the food, and service was awful. My food was not fresh, or hot, and one time was not what I even ordered. The biscuits are frozen and heated in the microwave, the gravy sucks, the hash browns are reheated, and the eggs are cold, and not cooke thoroughly. Last of all, the appearance of the servers are unkept and dirty, NO HYGIENE. Won't ever go back. read more

Less than stellar food bit it was still better than the service. The waitress, obviously a lifer, went on and on about her tattoo that she's getting. The reason for the conversation that wouldn't end? I have tattoos. But then, I also have my family with me and I wanted to eat before my food got cold. Oh well, that's too bad. Not going back. Ever. read more

So sad because I love Dennys. 1. I got pancake puppies and there was a pube looking hair in the "dip". (Called in and picked up order). 2. There was a random extra sweet sauce. 3. An extra container of mayo... I asked for just a small side of ranch.. hmm. There hair is what gets them no stars in my book. The shitty service I could get over. read more

The food is usually pretty good, sometimes it comes out a little too cooled off for my taste, and the prices are a bit much especially compared to ihop. I would recommend just making the drive to tyler or longview and going to ihop instead. Ihop has better prices and better food for sure. read more

went there two mondays ago ordered the grand slam they sent out old bacon and the eggs were repurposed the liquid kind in my opinion if you're in a nursing home this is the place for you as for real foodies no no. read more

Been going here since they opened, but it has been in steady decline in the last year. Don't order eggs over medium because you'll get eggs with runny whites. I've reordered them and still not been able to eat them. Grits are too thick. They are almost always out of something. read more

Good for a quick breakfast. Staff is friendly. Biggest and main complaint is that either the debit machine or cashier always ends up charging us twice. Because of that, we limit our visits severely. read more

We arrived for breakfast at 9:15. By 9:45am all of our party was seated. It took almost an hour for them to come and take our order. Once our order was taken it took another hour before our order arrived, in sections. Three other tables were seated after us and all were served before us. Most of our food was served cold or not prepared correctly. When we inquired about the Manager, we were told she was working in the kitchen. I've worked in the food industry and good customer service is a must in this business. Your Manager LeAnn in the Kilgore, Texas location does not have these qualities. Our server spoke to Leann and she inquired from the server weather she needed to come out and speak to us. What kind of a manager does that. Her first position should have been to take the concern seriously and come out and speak to our table. She did not. When I went up to pay, at 12:27pm, I saw our server speaking to LeAnn. She shook her head, rolled her eyes and made the comment, "fine I'll go speak to them". Unbelievable attitude. By that time most everyone had left. The few that were still at the table were the younger kids. I was shocked at her behavior. After I paid and was ready to leave she did approach me, in the most unprofessional, nastiest attitude you could imagine. In my opinion to little to late. She should not have questioned the server about our concerns, she should have come directly to us. Her actions were not those of a good manager. Knowing that the manager was the one preparing the food makes it even worse. When the server commented that our order was picked up by other servers, it was clear that not only can she not manage but she's inept at running a kitchen. I've encountered bad service before but nothing like this. 3 hours to get breakfast and a manager that could not even give a damn about her customer's. Her attitude towards the situation was so unprofessional that had she been working in one of my establishments, continued employment would not have been in her future. Our server Nova did a good job under these conditions, but the Manger not so much. Get new management and we might be back. Until then, we plan on an array of social media posts to let everyone know in that small town how disgusting this establishments management is. IHop here we come..... read more
