Absolutely disgusting food quality & service. All of my food came cold, raw and under cooked. The…read moreT-bone was cold, rubbery and bloody! I ordered a well done steak & had a steak that was bleeding all over into my eggs. Complained to the manager Jeremy Kelly who was the one who cooked it and he went a level of unprofessional that I've not seen before him. I'm guessing that prior to becoming manager excuses floated him in life, but he's only fooling himself when he claims that he can cook & that this "isn't a steakhouse". No, he's literally responsible for practically microwaving ready made meals & it's clear that he's not even competent enough to do that. He should be absolutely ashamed of himself as he is responsible for making sure that people don't die from under cooked food. You should know too, that he is not concerned one iota with the quality of the food coming out of here & he certainly goes full on unnecessary drama if he's politely called out on it. Telling me not to come back & forcing me to pay for food that was sent back & I didn't get to really eat because he doesn't know how to cook. I can only imagine the hissy fit that he throws on customers who give him attitude. He's all out delusional & crazy on something that making it right would have fixed. Just ridiculous and the sooner this place fires this incompetent man, the better the restaurant will be off. There's a good reason only 3 booths are occupied on a Saturday night attached to a truck stop...because this guy thinks he can punch a clock, swear in front of people's kids & then let the place fall apart & treat the customers who are paying good money to eat things I wouldn't feed an animal. Another thing, the slimy eggs were supposed to be medium & he couldn't even get that right & they are what made me throw up. I have the right mind to sue. Eat here at your own risk. It also appears on other review places that managers are thanking 1 star reviews as 5 star- so shady!

My husband ordered the liver and absolutely loved it, which says a lot because it's not easy to find it done right. I had the chicken fried chicken with gravy, and it was delicious, comfort food at its best. Everything was seasoned and spiced to perfection, flavorful without being overwhelming. This is the kind of diner that feels familiar and satisfying, with food that tastes homemade and consistently good. A must-stop if you're traveling through Texarkana and craving classic Southern comfort food.

It has nostalgic decor with a combination of booths and tables. At the height of lunch hour it was very busy but we were promptly seated and served. We happen to be driving through Texarkana at lunchtime and remembered that we had friends from our town, which is an hour away, that rave about it and occasionally for an outing will drive to Texarkana just to eat lunch. I had fried chicken livers, cabbage and the twice baked potato while my husband had the chicken fried chicken. My potato was just average but the fried livers and cabbage were excellent. We both enjoyed our food very much and I appreciated the fact that the tea glasses were large enough that I didn't have to ask for refills. One review complained that there weren't very many chicken livers. I only had about seven livers myself, but they were so huge that I ended up making two meals out of it. We thought the food was very reasonably priced and some of the meals even come with half portions. My husband actually got the half order of the chicken fried chicken and it was still plenty of food.
