The food and service was great. We went there when we were traveling thru Longview. If we lived there, we would eat there often.

I found the Mexican food lacking. There was no homemade hot sauce, the salsa on the table lacked flavor, and my meal was just ok. I thought coming to TX mexican food had to be one of those items in the list you had to have. Unfortunately this spot didn't represent. I will say they are a large restaurant, so great for a large party. They have a bar. The server was nice and attentive and the food came out quick. Most items are well priced. Papacitas used to be the place back in the day. I don't know what happened since then- new management, new ownership, whatever- but it's gone so beyond downhill. Recently we went to dine in. Walked in and every host walked off. Waited 10 minutes and no one came back. Bye! Today I place a to go order thru ChowNow on Papacitas' site. 15 minutes later it gets cancelled bc "the restaurant can't make your order." Oh, we cancelled ChowNow. Awesome, were you gonna let anyone know or... just leave it on the site? Says I can order through DoorDash- yea I already waited 15 minutes for nothing, I'll just go somewhere else. The restaurant is huge with an upstairs and downstairs dinning rooms. The beef fajitas were good and so was the mamacita combo plate. We were a large group with 5 tables but the service was good. I loved the corn chips with the season they out on them along with the flour tortillas. I could have made a meal out of those and the hot sauce. read more

My family and I had lunch this afternoon, waitress was great! Food was such a disappointment. My sister order a stuffed avocado as a meal, the plate came out minimum 15 minutes after everyone else plate, THEN it came out with a long blonde hair in the middle of it. Worst service ever at this restaurant. It's usually great, but not tonight. Had to flag down the waitress to order drinks and setup. The food was also not up to par, as it was cold and skimpy. When you don't get a salsa refill at a Mexican restaurant, even when you set the empty bowl on the edge of the table, that's not acceptable. This was a disappointing experience. First we ordered a beerRita with a Modelo Negra Special and we got a margarita with a Modelo :( then we placed our lunch order and the waitress decided we needed a double order of refried beans, no rice! Our favorite Tex-Mex restaurant in the area. The place is massive, with a two-story seating area, banquet rooms, and bars on both levels. The manager and wait staff are always friendly and courteous. The chips and salsa are unlike anywhere else. The seasoning on the chips is amazing. The tacos, enchiladas, and quesadillas are all delicious. The fresh-made tortillas are delicious, especially with the butter and honey on the tables. We love this place so much we had our rehearsal dinner here for our wedding. Check them out! read more

This place is a treasure in Longview. We have visited a couple times when in the area. Customer service is great. No matter how busy they are, seating is quick. From appetizers to the main course, the food is comfort Mexican cuisine. Never saved room for dessert, but everything we have ordered has been great! Recommend 10/10!! read more

Makayla was our server and she was good through out and that is why we have an extra 0.5 star. She was checking on us constantly. The salsa and chips were ok. Felt like the salsa had some ketchup in it. They also offered free tortilla with butter and honey. The fried avocado with chicken fajita and queso was ok. I don't like the taste of the chicken fajita. The rice was fine and the fried avocado as well. My friend tried mama rellenos and he said the pepper was not good. They had fried avocado and mama rellenos as there popular dishes which weren't up to the mark. The stuff looked efficient and place was nice and clean but they have to improve the quality of food for sure. read more

I've been going here for years and up until recently, I was disappointed on Labor Day weekend. This is quite a shame considering I go here every time I come to Longview. I got one of their special dishes, feeling adventurous and in a good mood. (I typically get the Mamacita for myself.) I was disappointed to find out it was basically a quesadilla that wasn't closed, drowning in verde sauce and the inside, where the chicken and cheese were, was cold. This dish was clearly completely microwaved; I mean that's why they give you the "hot plate" warning. I was so famished from shopping around town all day and hadn't eaten since earlier that morning that I wasn't bothered to mention anything to the staff. I was just happy to eat and quell my starving stomach. My friend noticed his Chimichanga was the same way as mine; hot in the outside and room temp on the inside. I tried it myself and so it seemed like they dipped the chimichanga real quick into some oil to fry it to give it quick crisp, and then microwaved it with the cheese on top. I was so insurmountably disappointed by this visit. I've gone here for birthdays, dates, etc. I felt wronged. read more

This was my second time at this restaurant. There was 5 years between visits but both times the food and service were excellent. My mom and I got the white queso appetizer and the shredded chicken chimichanga with white queso which was delicious. I didn't get pictures of other people's food but I did of mine. Others at the table got cheese enchiladas, beef fajitas and a rice bowl and enjoyed their food too. They also give complimentary fresh tortillas with melted butter and honey to make your own sopapillas. So good! It's a bit loud but we were able to have a conversation. Food is very good, however, they now tack an additional charge to many menu items. Ordered fish tacos and asked if it came with beans & rice. Yes was answer but was charged extra $2.25 for beans & rice. This made fish tacos cost nearly $20. Fajitas requires extra $2.25 for steak & chicken. read more

Kylie awas our server and she was amazing! The Danny Special Platter was good and a LOT of food! I had to take home a box and I never do that! I made tacos with tortillas. The half-and-half tea was really good. The chips are spiced and the salsa is tasty. Glad we stopped in. read more

Filling and quick service. Part of my review is based off of what the dudes next to me said about their dinner. Service 5/5. Place was packed, so I was seated at the bar. Drink was served and order taken right away. I got the Signature Stacked Enchiladas. The chicken was dry and didn't have any grilled flavor. The tomatillo salsa was rather bland too. Good portions and edible. 3/5 The adjacent table ordered 2 El Gigantico and 1 seafood fajitas and holy moly did those look incredible! They said as much too 5/5. First Mexican restaurant to hit in Longview Texas. We enjoyed it. I thought the food was awesome. My daughter went it's ok. Hubby was stuffed and little kid ate just fine. I had the Veracruz plate with one puff taco, a cheese enchilada and a chicken taquito. The enchilada cheese was really good and not just a plain cheese it was a mixture and that helped it so much. The taquito was large and not some rinkydink little extra crispy one. Now that I think about it it was just chicken and nothing in flavor special. The puff taco was awesome looking and silly me tasted like a taco. But it was filled to the hilt. I didn't know how to eat it. So i just bit into it. They don't do this in restaurants in Houston or Corpus Christi, but here I have found they put squeezable butter and honey on the table. Ask for fresh tortillas and then squeeze that butter and honey and it's delightful. Almost like a sopaipilla. I could get full on that alone!! Yummy! read more

The price of this place is just unbeatable, super affordable food and drink prices. Food tasted fresh, delicious, and filling! We will come back here a million more times. I had the beef fajitas for lunch one day and they were very tasty. Everything was very fresh. The flour tortillas were wonderful. Everything was as it should be. Stayed next door at the Holiday Inn Express so very convenient and perfect place to go have a nice margarita. Mine was Mango and my Husband had the watermelon. He said he like mine better. This place is huge inside and no wait on a Friday evening for dinner. They have indoor and some outdoor seating. Really nice staff and a lot of them all making sure customers are satisfied and clearing tables quickly to get the next customer seated. We shared the gigantica which includes beef, chicken fajitas, shrimp, quail, and ribs along with grilled veggies. Yes I said quail. A little odd and I was thankfully too full to try it. Dessert was really good, just had a bite or two of my husband's sizzling apple pie with vanilla ice cream. We will return. read more

We had never been to Longview before & decided to eat here based on local's recommendations. The restaurant is beautiful inside. They have a waterfall & multicolored lights that are wrapped around a staircase. We really enjoyed the environment! We also had a really great waiter who was very attentive & anticipated our needs before we even had to ask for refills or anything. If you plan to dine here, ask for Anthony. He was awesome! The only reason for giving this restaurant 3 stars is that I felt like the food was pretty mediocre. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad but it wasn't great either. What we did love is that in addition to the typical chips & salsa of most Mexican restaurants, this one also provides homemade tortillas. They have a bottle of butter & honey on the table so you can really enjoy them! My husband ordered shrimp tacos & said they were okay. He was pretty disappointed because they were supposed to come with a coleslaw & he just received a plate of shredded cabbage. There wasn't any kind of coleslaw mixture with a dressing. I ordered an enchilada & puffy taco combo, but it wasn't anything special. I've had better at other restaurants. They did have a lunch menu with a lot of good options at a discounted price. We just didn't order off of it. Overall, this place isn't bad. It's just probably not somewhere I would choose to go again. I won't crave or think about it past posting this review. read more

My friend and I decided to visit this beautiful restaurant last minute and it did not disappoint! Our waitress, Miriam, was so eager to serve us with a smile! The chips were freshly made and delicious while the tortillas were airy and fluffy. My friend enjoyed the shrimp tacos and I devoured the lunch fajitas for one! The only change I would have made is to ask for my fajita meat to be cooked a little longer since it came out a little rarer than I like, but other than that, the whole experience was great! My friend from Montana and I went there to eat. I just moved to Texas, we both grew up in California, and the Mexican food is fantastic. At this restaurant, food isn't real Mexican food, and both our orders were aweful. Neither of us finished and didn't take to go boxes. read more
