The chips and salsa were good so we were all anticipating a delicious meal as we waited. None of the dishes were bad but all the different dishes ordered tasted bland and very similar in flavor. Our kids did enjoy their meals of beef flautas from the kids menu as many places make them kinda hard but these were light and crispy. The chicken and shrimp in my chimichanga had a good flavor but the other components consisted of the same bland flavor as all other items. We received decent service until it approached time for dessert. Kids meals included ice cream but the server had abandoned us. We finally got the kids ice cream from another server but never could get a list of dessert choices. It took a long time to get a different server to bring our ticket. Will never return we much prefer their competition across the street. read more

I should had taken the time to read the reviews prior to visity this establishment. Everything that has been stated in most of the previous negative reviews are correct. I must say the waitress we had was very friendly. As for the food, the salsa tasted like tomato sauce and the food was lukewarm when it arrived at our table. I asked for a side order of chili and it came out at room temperature. As a previous reviewer stated, there is an odd odor inside of the restaurant. Do yourself a favor and go across the street to Jalapeño Tree. read more

All the old reviews are wrong people! I have eaten Mexican food in Louisiana, Texas, Colorado and California. Jose Tequila's has delicious food and bomb margaritas. My party had a strawberry and mango peach both tasted awesome. Creeping tequila but very well worth it. The L7 lunch special very good taco and queso cheese on top w beans and rice. Queso is pretty good from here, and the arroz con pollo is pretty good too, but probably because it comes with queso all over it. Lol. The salsa isn't the greatest, and other dishes I've tried from here are just like any other Tex-mex restaurant. Nothing really sets them apart from say casa-ole. I haven't eaten in house, but I've placed a few to-go orders and staff isn't always the friendliest either. Not sure if that's the same if you come in to eat or not, but I would hope not. read more

It was good but not as good as we hoped for.....this is just our 1st visit and we will give it another try. We started with chips and red sauce. The chips are light and good especially when salted. "J" really liked the red sauce, "G" thought it was just okay. We both really liked the white Queso with beef in it. It was better than most. Next came our meals. The fish tacos were not very good....most places have better than this. The Street Tacos I got were 2 pork/ pastor and 2 brisket. The pork tacos were above average and had two tortillas.....needed some type of additional flavor. Now the brisket tacos were very good with the moistness and texture but did also need more flavor too. We gave the atmosphere a 0.5 not because it is good but because these owners spent a lot of time and money renovating it. Anyone who went to Lupes or Los Enchilados here before will see how drastic all the changes are. It was crowded here though and our table wobbled a lot like we were on a ship and the table covers are just different. They do now have TVs all over mounted. It was a tight fit overall. The price is going to be $15 for a meal unless you get a lunch special. No Diet Dr Pepper, only Diet Coke. The service was friendly and nice for us this visit. We will go back to try some other things. read more

Waitress was friendly, when she was around. Food was bland; I got enchiladas that were just tortillas with boiled and chopped chicken (no seasoning, onions, etc that I could detect) and covered with an okay sauce. Chips were good, and the dips were just okay. When I went to pay, the lady behind the register would not get off the phone and I waited about 4-5 minutes to hand someone my money; another person finally came and began checking people out after a line formed. Looked like a bar was still being built when I was there. Not sure about returning; too many other options in town. read more

Pros: Great service, delicious strawberry margarita and pina colada, lots of cheese, taco meat has good flavor. Liked the Mexican music and also the hand painted chairs. Staff was very friendly. Cons: Horrible droopy, tiny, chile relleno, bitter green tomatillo sauce, salsa tastes like straight up tomato sauce with a tiny bit of cilantro. Botana Plate didn't resemble picture on menu at all. Well, another reviewer was correct when they stated that the salsa tastes like tomato sauce. It was edible, but I ate very little. I also smelled the port-a-potty smell that someone mentioned. The restaurant did not feel dirty though. I had a cheese enchilada, rice, and refried beans. I liked the beans. The rice had a slightly bitter taste. As for the cheese enchilada, I think all they did was take melted cheddar cheese and put it in a flour tortilla. It was very thick cheese that I had to work to chew. I only ate the one bite. Good food, great service! I had the Carne Asada plate and it was excellent, just like what I used to get at home. First place around that I have found that has really good Asada. The waitress quite attentive, came back frequently to check on our needs. No-one in our party complained about the food at all. It was delicious and I will definitely be going back. read more

This was a good first experience. Green sauce is "different", but we both liked it. I liked the salsa, while my husband said it tasted like tomato sauce "with something sprinkled on it". He doesn't care for Tex Mex, and not many are good at "American" food, but he said the chicken fried steak and pinto beans were good. The Chimichanga was good, the white cheese sauce delicious. The refried beans were even good. They had Dos Equis amber on draft, and the mango margarita was yummy (I would have had 2, but at $8.25 each, I stopped at 1). We will be back, and will choose here over the "other" Tex Mex in town. read more

I ordered the 3 chicken enchiladas, but wasn't satisfied with the taste of the food after 1 bite. I looked over the menu and didn't see anything that I could substitute the enchiladas for. The server brought the receipt and I noticed that i still got charged for the food that I only took 1 bite out of. She said she would talk to the manager and let him know that I didn't really eat it. The manager came over saying something about the same chicken that was inside the enchiladas are in all the other foods that they have and he's never had any complaints. Basically he stated that although I didn't eat the food, I was still required to pay for it. I was visiting from Oklahoma and it was my first time visiting the restaurant and I was trying to tell the manager that everyone's taste buds are different, but nevertheless i still had to pay for my food. I will never be visiting this place again and it's really sad that I was required to pay. Poor management. read more

If you're looking for bubble guts you have found your place. Waitress was friendly but her visits to the table were sparse. Chips and salsa were fair. Food was terrible. We all ordered different meals and all 5 of us were disappointed. Just terrible taste. And then the stomach aches... I had a salad with chicken and grilled shrimp. it was very good as well as the house made salad dressing. queso dip was a little bland.
