If you haven't been to Tia Juanita's you need to do so! Rodney, Destiny, Kierstin and the rest of the staff were amazing! Food was great, service was spectacular and the banquet room was the perfect size for our event. We had a surprise 50th Birthday party for my wife and the room was set up perfect, spacing between the tables to walk around, music was great and the over all atmosphere makes this place a must to host a get together or just night out on the town!!! read more

Have been here twice now while visiting family in town. I had fish basket once and baked potato second visit. The fish was average-but lukewarm when served. Potato was lukewarm also and i prefer it to be cooked longer so it's fluffy, not chunky. All others in my party really enjoyed what they ate. Gumbo, grilled fish, shrimp. (i am a picky eater and more on the bland side so go with their view more than mine) Service was good. Atmosphere is fun with lots to look at on the walls. read more

I've eaten at 3 locations: Henderson, Lufkin, and Longview. I've eaten at Longview location several times, and I'm seeing improvement with food consistency and service. Some of my prior experiences haven't been the best, but I gave grace to the establishment as they were just opening. The salsa was the best it has EVER been last night. Even better than Henderson (which has always been my favorite location). We love the boudin balls, seafood enchiladas, and fajitas. The seafood enchiladas and ribeye fajitas have large portions and can easily be shared by two. My last two visits have been for bday parties in the private room. The food is affordable, abundant, and varied...everything from shrimp and oysters to tacos and fajitas. But after a couple visits, I've come to accept that the food here is just OK. This spot has become a go-to for me when I'm craving seafood that hits the spot. I also love their fajitas! The portions are generous, everything tastes fresh, and the service is always laid-back and welcoming. We ordered raw and chargrilled oysters, and they were so tiny! A few of them almost looked like empty shells! And the cheese mixture on top of the chargrilled was so salty, I could barely eat any of it. I actually spit food out in a napkin twice. I would have sent it back, but it was a special occasio, and I didn't want to ruin it :( The bread was also like chewing a piece of leather. Very tough. I mostly ate chips, dip and salad. Finally made it and was blown away! Soo many things we wanted to try which is a good thing now a days. Most menu's have shrunk after you know what. NOT the case here. Several trips will have to be made and happy to do it. I started off with grilled oysters. Had a couple dirty ones but were still good. We actually sat right in front of the shucker. Was a nice treat. Local Louisiana seafood so that's 10's all around. Too many chain restaurants and smaller using imported JUNK. Priced low and hurts our economy and local fishermen and communities. Nothing better than gulf coast seafood. You can taste it, trust me as I have grown up there most of my life. Lots of people and vehicles all day so service is something I noticed and they were well balanced. Never felt rushed. Even sitting at this very long bar (another plus!!) we were able to get good service. It was a busy Friday night so some understanding goes a long way. Bartender's were hoping for sure. First let me say the building, decor and atmosphere are great!!! Staff aren't the friendliest. I don't believe I saw one smile, heard one thank you, and I know I didn't hear please come back! They were too involved in talking to each other. But you came here for the food right? Ahi tuna, over cooked and bland. Didn't finish. Only thing good I heard was if I come back only thing I'll order is the rice. Salad looked fresh. I didn't have it, but I do know lettuce was cold and crisp. Next, fried shrimp was breaded with corn meal which is ok but shrimp were over cooked so that the shrimp were tough. French fries ok but the hush puppies no flavor, nothing, nil, nada! Shrimp quesadillas no complaint. Grilled shrimp again over cooked. Fried oysters I heated were mostly stuffed with crab and oysters small. Gator bits must have been good because they were eaten up. As was the queso , but the chips were bottom of the barrel as to a lot of the chips were broken and tiny. After spending almost $200 on five meals and one coke, one lemonade and four beers I can say dinner was very unfulfilling and not very enjoyable. It's a big maybe if we got back! read more

Id like to start with typically i never write a bad review, but i had to with here sadly, the experience started off great sat instantly, but it started going down once the service started, i believe my server was Laycee, she started off by asking for drinks, (drinks that took forver to come) its as if she just started talking with a coworker and forgot she had just got a table in. she returned back with the drinks ad started asking for our appetizer and order she had the rudest attitude and face on. like she just hated having to actually take an order, im not typically this harsh but our order was then messed up, almost completely, we honestly just ignored it but we the ordered the churros and sat and sat when finally a check arrived, granted the churros were not on the check, but it went to show that she never even took the order in to begin with, the food was alright. prices normal. but the service was the worst ive gotten in a while. and it was first time will not be coming back anytime soon. longview location im sorry but the service was terrible. read more

I've been here a couple of times and neither time was a very good experience. The first time the food was just not very good. I ordered a fried fish poboy and the fish came grilled. I've never heard of grilled fish on a poboy.. The second time, the restaurant was essentially empty but somehow the host still ignored us and then eventually sat us at a table but didn't give us silverware. The server was rushing us (again, the restaurant was basically empty) and when my dad's salad arrived we realized we didn't get any silverware and we couldn't get anyone's attention to bring us some for a good few minutes despite multiple workers standing directly behind our table chatting. When my poboy came it was fried this time like I asked but it very soggy. Like WET to where it was falling apart and it wasn't juice.. it tasted like the bread was soaked in water?? Maybe from the lettuce but it was really gross, I didn't eat it. I doubt I'll return here, it was disappointing. read more

The service was friendly. And my fish tacos were quite tasty. However, the biggest problem was that, even though it was a slow night, I had to wait over a half hour for my tacos. The waitress apologized profusely, but despite that, I would probably not return. read more

My husband and I started with the chips and various dips. Enjoyed them all. I had the jalapeño stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon. They were amazing!! Served with grilled vegetables cooked to perfection not overcooked. My husband had gumbo and raw oysters and enjoyed both. We would definitely go back. We have been here a few times and usually are satisfied and the fajitas are usually fantastic. But they were off their game last night. First the waitress just had no personality and was a little snarky about us having to clear the way for her to put down a hot plate but she chose not to use a pot holder. The queso was so thin and runny that it kept dripping all down my shirt and we could not get enough of it to stay on a chip to even taste it. So it ended up getting too cold to eat with over half of it left. I got nachos and they were so soggy and we shared a few but it was more like a casserole. Even my husband's fajitas were not like usual. The meat was tough. Next to us was a group of little league parents and kids. The men were all drunk and loud. The boys were way too big like 5th or 6th grade to run all over and sit at different tables and spin around poles treating the restaurant like a playground. The wives just played on their phones. They had an infant maybe 1 year old that kept screaming. The dad quieted him down by giving him at least 3 drinks of his beer! Not the restaurant's fault but there was not one sighting of any kind of manager anywhere. We won't be back for a while. read more

Service was lacking and was brought raw food. Only offered a discount, even after having to pack my food up, after asking and then 20% on the dish only... Ok. But the server had already stated manager was taking care of it and mgr knew nothing. And was lied to by waiter and told we would be charged extra to have it packed up. We've been to Tia's several times when visiting family in Longview. Reasonable prices and good food. Drinks - not so much. They are weak, odd, gimmicky. and overpriced. Instead of ordering a rum/coke where the put a shot or two in a short glass and a splash of coke, I get a regular size coke and / shots of rum to mix it myself. The shot was short and it wasn't Bacardi but we were with a group so I didn't want to complain. We stopped drinking there and just enjoy our meals. read more

The food was excellent. I got the Shrimp Brochette (bacon wrapped shrimp). My husband got fried catfish. Sister got the Seafood Enchiladas, and she said they were great. They filled up the platter. We also ordered the charbroiled Oysters Royal appetizer and they were awesome, but they came after the meal was served. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I had the experience of visiting this restaurant on today and my daughter and I shared the steak nachos. Waited for at least 45 min for our food, people seated after us received their food before us, no napkins or silverware offered, and gave specifics about adding pico to our order. Waitress apologized for the length of time for us to get our food and stated she would see if her manager would discount our total( she suggested, not myself) mind you we did not complain about the quality of the food.. waitress comes back and stated manager would not do anything because we ate the food , i asked to speak to the manager to let him know that the problem was not the quality of the food..he comes out stating that this is the first that he has heard of the complaint and what was the problem... i explain again and he goes on to tell us that he's looked at the cameras and we didn't wait an hour (caught him in a lie) our total it was only $20) won't be back to back hat one lol 1 star rating for management and poor service read more
