This is one of the best places for authentic Mexican food in all of East Texas. They have the same 'ol TexMex for those of you afraid to venture outside of your comfort zones...however, they also have authentic, delicious Mexican food. I ordered on Uber Eats. I got tortilla soup and a small guac. Everything was seasoned well and the soup arrived super hot and fresh! My allergies were killing me, and we were just here for a visit--but it was exactly what I needed! Salty (in a good way), brothy, a little cheese. It was great! Depending on what you order it's a hit or miss if it's good. My niece ordered the kids meal chicken nuggets and those nuggets were as hard as rock. If you picked two up and put them together like you were playing the cymbals you could audibly hear a tap tap sound. She couldn't eat a one but she loved the fries I ordered the sopes and they were decent...not the best that I've had. There's another place in Longview that makes them with much better flavor. This is your typical tex mex place with a few different dishes you can't find at other tex mex restaurants. Salsa is fresh but has very little heat but it tasted good for a no heat salsa. Service was okay. Our waitress wasn't the quickest on chip refills or drink refills... there were several times we needed both and waited for a good bit before either was replenished. Ok everyone, I finally made to Jocelyn's Mexican Grill. I have been reading about the FREE margaritas and wanted to hit up this place just for that. (I also heard the food was good)! This place is the old Salsarita restaurant near Hope's closet and Tractor Supply. They still have the old signage up and a banner down below saying they are now Jocelyn's. It was my daughter's birthday, so we wanted to celebrate with family. There are six of us and we arrived around 5 pm on a Wednesday. There were maybe two tables being used. The server Gabby asked if we wanted a table or a booth. We choose the table with more room and people did not have to pile in. Chairs looked new, because there was still plastic attached where it had been pulled off. It could have been done cleaner, but no problem. The place is decorated with a Mexican decor. Surprise! We were seated and our drink order was taken. Gabby told us about the free margaritas and that there is tequila in them. But that is all the liquor they serve and are working on the liquor license. You are limited to 2 margaritas. They are not the frozen kind its over ice. They arrived in "ball" canning glasses, full and salt on the rim. The little kid order lemonade, but it was returned because she said it was too sweet and tasted funny. Coke instead. Chips arrived with the salsa, and everyone had their own little bowl of salsa. Chips could be warm, and salsa was a little runny, something like that stuff you get in "New York city!" Hopefully they will work on that. Hubby, FIL, order the seafood plate, birthday girl order the meat enchiladas, little one order chicken strips at the suggestion of Gabby, she said they are breaded and made there, with the chicken nuggets are frozen. Ordered rice instead of french fries. Teen order fish tacos. and me, I had the half cheese quesadilla with onions and mushrooms. You can get it with onions and green peppers, but I don't like green pepper, so they let me have mushrooms. Hubby and FIL got a salad with their meal with was lettuce, shrimp and crab with a dressing. There were no complaints! Hubby said it was real crab! Food arrived, and everyone dove in. Little one ate all the rice and some of her chicken, "I'm full" is the story. Birthday girl ate all her enchiladas and FIL, and Hubby enjoyed their seafood plate. My quesadilla was a bit greasy, but I ate it all. We also had ordered a large guacamole. Gabby brought out extra little bowls and a large spoon so that we could each get our own and not have to keep dipping into the same bowl. That to me was fantastic. It's the small things, lol. We went to order dessert of Flan and Gabby told us they did not have any, because the owner had not made any. We instead ordered fried cheesecake with fried ice cream. That was passed around because everyone just wanted a bit. Little one took over and finished it, because apparently, she was not THAT FULL. They also brought a sopapilla from the restaurant to the birthday girl to wish her a happy birthday! We got the check, and it was surprisingly inexpensive. Five people and it ran almost $50. When we left the place was getting very busy. My suggestion is to go visit and ask for Gabby and enjoy those free margaritas and enjoy the food and your company that you bring with you!. I just ate here this evening the fajitas was great, hot sauce was runny, the service was horrible. I had to get up and go to the front and ask for my ticket and to go plate. The guy wasn't happy cause I wouldn't pay him. I like getting my ticket at the table and give the server the money. read more

This is a weird way to start a restaurant review, but I liked the background music. Is there such a thing as classic rock Tex Mex? I haven't heard music like this before, and I liked it. The food is a little better than the many of the other local Mexican restaurants. The price is about the same. My wife had the seafood rellenos. It came with a nice salad. I had the fajita quesadillas. They were very good. A 'hook' to get you to come here is the complimentary margaritas. My wife quoted another reviewer and said they tasted like spiked lemonade. I got food poisoning, drinks were watered down, employees were rude, and the restaurant smelled like paint and gas.

Ate there last night and, while the food was good, the atmosphere and noise was awful. apparently, they have a dj who plays music on Fridays and I have no problem with that. however, the dj gave the microphone to a table of girls from high school. They were one table of about 6 in the restaurant. With the microphone, they sang at the top of their lungs to every song and pranced to different tables of their friends. We were to meet friends and, when they heard the noise, they left. I understand fun and a song or two would have been ok, but this went on for over an hour. I called to complain and the man said he would not give me his name and the managers are only there at 10 in the morning and when they close at 10. Disrespectful of all others in the restaurant. He should keep his microphone to himself. read more

As I don't get to Longview often, I was surprised to learn that Salsarito's was no more at this location. The food however was absolutely superbly delicious; fresh ingredients, authentic scrumptious, generous portion chicken burrito. Must try. Your taste buds will thank you! Went to this location to visit Salsarita, to our surprise it is now Jocelyn's. Great Mexican food, not Tex-Mex. My wife had the Chimichanga with rice and refried beans, she said it was really good. I had the Carne Asada that came with a chicken enchilada rice and refried beans, this was the best I've had. The guacamole is awesome. Great service and they were busy. Price is on the average for any sit down restaurant. Will be going back for sure. read more

We eat here literally all the time but this time was very disappointing. We always order fajitas for 1 and get a couple of waters and we get a extra set up. In the past our bill ranged from about 22 to 27 max but this time it was 48 and change. We were completely shocked. They charged us $16 for the extra set up. We got to talk to the owner and she kept interruting my husband and hust wanted to talk to me. She blamed the over charges on her waitress but refused to take off the charges. Its completely not the waitress. We were also charged $5.99 for side guacamole that we didnt even ask for. We ended up agreeing to pay the bill at $37 but we wont be back. $16 for an exta set up? (Small scoop of sour cream, small scoop of guac, small scoop of pico and beans and rice..) yall know the little setup.. yeah they charged $16 for that. The same amout as the fajitas which comes with it. They also charge $1.99 for 4 tortillas which is supposed to come with fajitas anyways. Highway robbery.
