Half Sandwich Pick A Pair + cookie
    Kelsey M.

Great place for lunch ! I love that they offer half sandwich with your choice of soup or salad! I ordered to-go as well since I have a short lunch period and they are really easy to order from online and they have their own To-Go door where you can walk right in and grab your order without waiting on anyone! I got the Italian sandwich and potato soup which both were really good and I highly recommend!

    Black and blue salad

Don't know much about history, Don't know much biology. Don't know much about a science book, Don't know much about the french I took. But I do know that I love Newk's, And I know that if you love Newk's, too, What a wonderful world this would be. Despite my poor attempt at remaking a song about Newk's I don't really know much about Newk's either. But their black and bleu salad is awesome and it will remain in rotation of places I go when I need a quick lunch. This location is the only location I have visited. It is located on Corporate in an area filled with restaurant choices. I would have never picked it, but like many other BR places, a work friend recommended it. He said the pizza is good, but pizza can eat a bag of carbs. I opted for the salad and it was delicious. So delicious that I have been back like three times. I can't help you with the rest of the menu, but if you want a salad, get the black and bleu. The world will be wonderful.

    Half Greek half Newk's Club

This was my first time eating at Newk's Eatery in Baton Rouge. The location is in good area of Baton Rouge located around other restaurants and shops. The parking lot was spacious which is also a plus when being in a well populated city. The inside of Newks does appear to be older and outdated, it is in need of a remodel. When you walk in you order your food right away then you go sit down and wait for them to bring it to your table. Our food came out really quick which was great. I also enjoyed the half club sandwich I got. It was delicious. The Greek salad on the other hand was just okay, in my opinion Panera had better salads.

I love that they offer a variety of boards you can share, and their drink options are great too. You can sit inside or outside, and they even have live music on some nights, which adds to the atmosphere. The service has always been great every time I've gone. They also have the cutest merchandise available for purchase. It's a great place for date night, hanging out with friends, celebrating birthdays or anniversaries, or just spending time with family. I have lived in BR for 6 years now. Many departments at LSU take guests there and in that time, Building 5 has done nothing to improve its parking lot. The restaurant sits underneath an overpass and the parking is pothole marked unpaved gravel. This means that there is no room for wheelchairs or accommodations for anyone who is differently-abled to get into the restaurant. The whole restaurant makes no room for handicapped persons. On the occasion I did get food, the food is slightly overpriced. All meats were cooked adequately but the food was lukewarm probably owing to sitting in the kitchen under the heat lamp than being delivered promptly. When I have gone, I regularly have to ask for refills on soda as I am the designated driver often for department functions. Servers pay you no heed if you do not buy alcohol. Because I go here because of academic reasons, I would barely go here myself. I've been here many times and found it wanting. It's an ableist place in its infrastructure. It's fine I'm atmosphere as a cocktail bar but would little recommend it to people I call friend.

I had red beans and rice and a stuffed baked potato. Hubby had the grilled shrimp po boy with a side of potato salad. First off, the side dishes are huge. They were fresh and delicious. The red beans and rice were worth the stop. Hot temperature wise and just enough spice to be real cajun food. The potato was hot and fluffy and was gigantic. It was cooked all the way and soft, not like a lot of restaurants serve! The flavor of the po boy was delicious and fresh. The roll tasted fresh baked. Thank you, Rouge Rabbi, we hope to return If you have the chance, try it, you won't be sorry. The seating is cute, they have online ordering, and the prices are reasonable, $15-$20 per person.

So I used #Yelp and found @rougerabbitbr off of Essen, in the United Plaza. I've driven down Essen multiple times but never knew about this place. It's a nice quaint, very much South Louisiana spot that serves breakfast and lunch. The staff were very kind and friendly. Now I didn't get a breakfast burrito this time, instead I got a breakfast bowl which was soooo good! Next time, I have to try the burrito and the French toast but also something from their lunch menu. If you are in the BR area and wanna try a local spot, check out Rouge Rabbit.

This might be my favorite casual meal in Baton Rouge for 2025…read more Since George's closed I havent found a reason to be in this area. It was too painful for me to not be driving here to get jalapeno cheese fries, a burger, and putting a dollar on the wall. But damn, this place has cured me of that sadness. I am disgusted that I had not been here sooner. We arrived during the lunch rush but were able to sit at a high top in the bar. The place is small so you may have to wait. It will be worth it. We started with some cheese curds. I cannot accurately convey how amazing these were. I have no idea what kind of cheese it was, what they did to make it so great, or how ranch added an additional wow. Trust me, get these. They are awesome. The burger, oh the burger. This is likely the best burger I have ever had in BR. If you are a burger fan, you must ad this one to your list. I haven't had every burger in BR but I have had a few. This one is the tops. Great patty, cooked perfectly to order, juicy, and super flavorful. Service was friendly but slightly slow which was likey due to the lunch rush. Parking is under the overpass and a little muddy at times. You will be fine. Come here. You won't be disappointed.

For those who don't know, this is a build your own bowl/ salad fast casual restaurant. It's great if you want something healthy and quick in a pinch. Most of the ingredients looked fresh, with the exception of a few fresh veggies that seemed like they were starting to get mushy on the bottom. They have tons of options for the base, toppings, and what looked to be at least 15 different dressings/ sauces. They offer fresh fruit, hot soups, and even a nacho bar which is cool. They also offer to chop your bowl to mix everything up a little better. The only negative feedback I have is about the price of the bowls. They're $10.99/ lb and my bowl was a little shy of halfway full, but was already there. The soups are $7.99/lb and based off of the broccoli cheddar soup we got, I would 100% NOT recommend it. It was very salty and tasted a little too much like chicken broth, lacking the entire meaning of the name. The checkout process is pretty quick as you weigh one bowl at a time. Salad Station takes Apple Pay/ tap(?) and you can earn points across all of their locations. They also offer a 10% military discount, but what was strange is that they won't apply it to the whole ticket, only one item. So the overall value of the food here is okay, but it's one of the better options in the area and it's very clean with minimal health code violations. I would return but not too often.
