We arrived after lunch rush hour, around 1pm. There were very few customers (less than 10) and it still took them 25 minutes to bring our food; two sandwiches and a Cobb salad. The salad arrived more than five minutes after the sandwiches. Overall, the food was good but nothing out of the ordinary. The BLT wrap arrived dry without any mayo or dressing at all. Nineteen dollars for a medium sized salad is robbery but the real insult was delivered by the cashier when she had the audacity to ask my husband, "What? No tip?!", as he paid for our meal. We had left cash on the table for our server. Service was par, and that is a generous compliment. With so many other diners to choose from in the area, do yourself a favor and skip this one entirely. read more

The food wasn't bad but the waitress opened a cash app account with my debit card. It was the first time I had used the card so I knew it had to be her. It was a huge inconvenience to cancel my card and update the number everywhere. I'm glad I had alerts on and was able to immediately freeze the card and cancel it. I had to wait 11 days for a new one. That was a huge inconvenience. I called to tell them at a slow time. I just said " I ate there this morning and the waitress stole my card number and opened a cashapp account " just so he knew what was happening at his business. Yesterday, I asked for a table for one person. The man who gave me the table (an old big man) and took my order was in a very bad mood, he threw the menu on the table in a really aggressive way, and a few seconds later asked me if I was ready to order( when I didn't even open the menu). When I asked him about one of the dishes in the menu photo, he answered, "I don't know what that is and I don't care. Just read the menu on the back and tell me the name of the dish," and he continued raising his voice at me until finally another waitress came and apologized for the man's bad mood. The food was good, but I will never go back; I have never been disrespected in a place as much as I was that day. I've been wanting to hit this spot for a while but never put in the effort until a relative decided we should meet their for dinner, figured what the hell since I still had yet to Yelp the place. The place seems nice in size from outside but it's actually pretty small on the inside. I'm a burger dude all the way so most times I visit a diner I'm getting a burger. Burgers here are inexpensive but they also taste inexpensive, although it wasn't completely bad it didn't blow me away. My wife had a chicken sandwich which she enjoyed. Service is decent though the waitress did forget to bring the coffee I ordered she did comp the coffee to make up so that was a good rebound for the error. The place isn't all that bad. I think it's a good cheap option when I want a quick yet cheap dining experience where I could enjoy waiter service. Food was decent and service was decent, I would visit again for a cheap eat. We had seven people in our group (two kids) and tab totaled $69 (not bad). read more

I stopped in late one weeknight to have dinner with a friend. I went here frequently with family back when it was the Vails Gate Diner and saw the transition to the New Windsor Coach. Over the years, this diner has really picked up its pace. The service was efficient and fast. The waitress was friendly and polite. She delivered our beverages and very quickly after, our dinner orders came right out. She stopped twice to see how the meal was and if we needed anything. Once we were done, she quickly came and removed our plates from the table, but did not rush us to leave as we remained seated and talked. The diner was very clean - tables, floors, etc. The staff were friendly. The food came out hot and the order was accurate. My cheeseburger and buns weren't exactly what I expected, but everything else was great. read more

Just finishing breakfast with my wife and paying at the counter, a couple staff members were playing a Trump speech on their phone speaker (a pet peeve of mine...don't play videos on your phone in public please, people!) and I joked "please, I'd rather keep my breakfast down. That voice!" I was quickly challenged with a "really?!" (I guess I must look like a Trump supporter -- middle aged retired military guy. Bummer) I responded, "yes, really. That voice makes me sick. I'd like to keep my breakfast down, thank you." I was then told quite angrily "Own a business! Try owning a business! He's good for business!" As she stormed off into the back. I tried to suggest that harassing customers may be more detrimental to a small business than who sits in the Oval Office, but alas, she had already finished with me. My daughter and I had breakfast here on Saturday after getting my bloodwork done. Had to fast for the test so was very hunger. Menu was covered with little pieces on white tape with price increases written on them. Ordered 2 Hungerman specials with 1 side order of Corned Beef Hash and 2 cups of coffee. Ordered my eggs fried (sunny-side-up). As the British would say they were not a "Proper Fried Egg". Whites was still runny, and the yolks was cold. I had the pancakes with mine they were OK. My daughter had the French Toast with hers, the inside was still raw bread. The Corned Beef Hash lacked flavor. Had to ask for the one and only refill on coffee. My daughter went up to pay the bill which was $40 she added $5 for tip (12.5%). She was told by the women at the checkout (the owner) that the tip was too low. Will not be returning anytime soon. Not her place to state her opinion of the tip out loud. I tip 15% for OK service and 20% for good service. read more

The people are amazing and the food is great! Everyone knows your name and they care about you when you are not there. The conversations are great and the atmosphere is always fun. This is the worse diner I have ever been to. If you are a person that loves good service do not go here because they do not know the meaning of good The food came and I was happy because I was enjoying it. New Windsor Coach is a cozy little diner. Family owned and run. Usually is hopping on the weekends. Great place for a first date or to end a relationship. Food is decent. It depends on what you get. Cheeseburgers and panini's are a safe bet, but under any circumstances, DO NOT GET THE CALAMARI. It's not calamari. It's still alive! What ever it is . Prices are a little steep for a less then remote area, but other wise there aren't many complaints. Service is decent but if you're expecting the Russian Tea Room, you may want to go somewhere else. Waitresses aren't going to bend over backwards to angle for a big tip. Not open 24 hours, so that's kind of a bummer when you're out at 1 AM craving a greasy diner meal, but a cozy little place in a small town. read more

Made the mistake of going back here today , forgetting how crappy my last visit was. The food is mediocre at best and the staff are not only rude, but very lackadaisical and uncaring. To start off with our waitress wasn't happy we needed a few more minutes to decide, so she came back over 10 mins later ( I honestly was ready to get up, pay for our coffees and leave), then when my wife ordered an egg sandwich one a hard roll, with bacon, lettuce, tomato and cheese added on, the waitress said to her.."so you want a BLT with 2 fried eggs added", with an attitude, she then asked if my wife wanted mayo ( now who puts mayo on and egg sandwich?), being told no, she promptly huffed and said rudely.."good thing I asked!"... Will say that if it's the same female hostess, she definitely has resting bitch face - lol but was nice enough when taking to her. Very large menu, very friendly staff, sat there for about two hours with a friend of mine chatting. Did not feel rushed at all. Gave us refills without asking, brought us the check after about an hour and a half, and even made a point to say, no rush just closing out my shift...no problem Nothing overly positive to share, nothing overly negative to share. We have been coming to this diner for over 20 years and today I walked out. I was furious. It took forever for someone to great us at the door. When someone finally did come, they took us to a table that had food chunks on its silverware. When I asked for a new set of silverware, the waitress kept passing it back to me, wiping it off with her fingers. When it came time to order I asked for French toast and scrambled eggs. I asked for it without milk or butter because I have recently developed a dairy allergy. The waitress told me no, that they couldn't make it without milk. I explained to her that it was an allergy and asked if they could make a separate batch. She went and got her manager who proceeded to look at me like I was crazy. "How do you make it without milk? No we don't do that." I've worked in the food industry for 13 years and I have never seen an establishment that wouldn't accommodate an allergy. I am never going back to such a poorly run business.
