The food is always amazing., I had the Veal Parmigiana tonight along with the Zucchini Blossoms that our waitress,Leslie, recommended! They were so delicious! First time I tried this restaurant, the food was good. I tried their pizza not too long after and it was good. Not great. But good. I went back and ordered the same meal, chicken parm. The chicken is cooked perfectly but their sauce is super bland. It needs more oregano, basil, and salt. Perhaps a little longer of a simmer as well to deepen the depth of the flavors. Their garlic bread is awful. It's dry. Please add butter to it to make it palatable. The pizza is definitely not consistent. The crust is not bouncy and flavorful like it should be. The dough should have little tiny bubbles and be golden brown, night light with flour dusting. I'll try this place one more time to see if it's any better. But definitely not consistent. The service is ok, could be better. They seem to heavily focus on service behind the counter . They seem a tad overwhelmed by a few customers. The few times I have been , they had maybe 6-8 tables . It's was slow. I will say the ambiance is nice. But this place could be better with being more consistent with their food quality, making better pizza, adding more flavor to their tomato based dishes, and having someone to greet people . read more

We went to Carmellas for the first time last week. The lunch was good. We then went for dinner not knowing the menu is different and prices are way too high for the crappy food we ate. You can tell the food is not authentic Italian food as I come from a family that owned an Authentic Italian restaurant for 25 years. I got a Stromboli and there were dots of meet instead of filling it properly with actual meat. My husband got lousy 5 raviolis that were not fresh. Their paninis are only dried up old bread pressed down with barely any fresh Mozzarella or filling inside of it. One slice of mozzarella that was the size of a half dollar. What a joke. Save your money and go somewhere else. Oh and the coffee was old and cold! The can redecorate all they want. They are over priced and the food just is not good or for that matter enough. read more

Smooshed between a busted up Dollar store and a sketchy Chinese takeout place..Carmela's tries hard to appear like a classy sit down restaurant but falls way short! Upon entering my family was not greeted, they don't seem like they care to do business at all really. You won't get a warm vibe in this place if that's what you seek. The girl with her ponytail behind the counter didn't seem like she wanted to be there. She kept touching her hair from the top of the ponytail to the bottom to smooth it, like a nervous tick. It was definitely an appetite turn off. The second thing I saw was a sign that stated due to rising cost our prices have increased too! Great. Everyone hiking up their prices and blaming the gov't...so sick of this b.s. She finally made eye contact and still didn't ask dining in or picking up. She had no idea how to be a hostess. We asked if we could sit. She pointed and still don't murmur a word. After waiting several minutes we ordered. The pizza is lacking seasoning, bland sauce and cheap cheese. It honestly tasted like it was sitting out as a slice pie and reheated several times over. The mozzarella sticks were luke warm and congealed. My kids didn't eat them. Crap service and food. I was sad when I had learned that this location had a fire and we called their other location a few times to find out when they would be reopening but they could never really tell us. To my surprise I happened to notice on Yelp that it had reopened and had been reopened for over a month - how I didn't know was beyond me. As soon as I heard it had reopened I went. The interior is very nice with a nice ambience - especially the seating area as they added a few more tables near the booths. Was super excited to get my favorite food items. Enjoyed a slice of pizza as an appetizer - it was superb as always. Ordered my favorite entree which is the Veal Raphael with a caesar salad. The salad was a bit smaller than I remembered it to be and it was just ok. My entree came out, I took one bite and said it's not how I remembered it. I had asked for angel hair pasta with it and I got spaghetti which was fine but unfortunately I only had a few bites and didn't continue eating it and I was a bit sad. In the past the veal was crispy, the eggplant was crispy, the sauce was amazing and the pasta was amazing. This time it was just not that good as the veal and eggplant were very mushy, the veal tasted off, the eggplant was very thin, the sauce had onions in it and had an aftertaste and there was water on my plate from the spaghetti that seeped into the meat. I asked for a take out container to take it home. Hubby ordered his fave which was the chicken franchaise and there were two pieces of chicken on top of a huge bowl of penne and he said the same thing that it wasn't the same as he remembered it. The breading was very thin, there was not enough sauce and it was very thin and under-seasoned and the chicken was smaller than we remembered it. He ate much of it but didn't take any of the remaining penne home. We didn't have any dessert. We will come here again as we love this place and just hope that this was an off night. read more

The bread was hot and delicious (I'd honestly come back for that alone), my seafood stuffed portabella was great, but the shrimp and scallop ravioli seemed to lack much seafood. Waitress was tremendously nice, but forgot to order my brother's gluten-free meal. Then made up for it with a free desert, but then forgot that. Was super busy, so I sorta get it, but not twice. Desert was good, but the coffee wasn't hot. Might have been poured and forgotten while the desserts we're prepared. I went the 2nd day of opening with my daughter. We both ordered a veal dish with angel hair pasta. The meal came with a salad. The servers were very attentive despite the busyness of the restruant. The atmosphere was pleasant in the newly styled dining room. The veal was flavorful and tender and the portions were large. We got to take some home for lunch the next day. Can't wait to try the pizza. We were regular customers prior to the fire so we are so happy they are open now. We certainly will be going again to try more of their dishs.!! read more

a friend recommended this place for great cold cuts, so I came by to order some takeout here for dinner. so, I placed my order with the counter person. so, I left for a few minutes to wait for my order. so came back and my order was bagged and ready, I had an Italian combo sub, garlic knots and limoncello cake. later on, I found out after I left since I thought everything was in the bag, they missed my limoncello cake, which sucks since I did pay for it, and they forgot it for my order. Beside missing the cake, the Italian combo sub, was very good, very generous with the meats, not too much lettuce and not too many tomatoes. The bread for the sub was great, it was very flat and not an oversized sub roll where its more bread in comparison to fillings. Garlic knots were lightly toasted and easy to pull apart to dip, marinara sauce was good, nothing more on it. will have to try their other menu item and will be sure to check all items are in the bag before i leave. read more

Carmela's Pizza Restaurant, man was it a good place to eat. Everything there was perfect! The service was good - especially the waitress that we had - and the food was excellent! My family also loved it! I had a BIG meal there because it was SO good! I had a whole plate of lasagna, chicken parmesan, and a slice of cheesecake. Wow, it was good! On a scale of 1-10 (1 being horrible and 10 being perfect) I would definitely give it a 10! The next time that my family and I are in Montgomery, we definitely know where we'll be going for dinner! I ordered the Chicken Catiatorre. I specified that I would like the pasta to be separate from the main dish and be served with marinara sauce. They combined the order with no marinara. I requested onions on the salad. No onions. Isn't a restaurant supposed to attempt to please? The Chicken Catiatorre is excellent. But consequently due to their careless error, I was very disappointed. This is the second time this same exact thing has occurred. It's infuriating. Overall grade only a C as a result. Update on a subsequent visit: Asked again for onions on my salad. The young girl who was handling the cash register carried my salad container to the veggies bar (behind the counter) reached into the raw onion container with her bare hands and pulled out the onions for my salad. When I confronted her about it and asked why she didn't use gloves her incredible reply was "we don't use them here." OK. Never again! Overall grade now F. read more

Love it here! We have been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. The current owners have done a lot to improve the interior (not that it was bad before, just kind of dated.) The owner of the plaza has really spruced up the outside as well so overall it's a nice ambience. We almost always have great service. I do have a favorite server who knows our drinks by heart as well as what kind of foods we prefer. The food is always great. I don't think I've ever had a bad meal here. I'm a picky eater so I tend to want to personalize my dinners (usually wanting to leave something out!!) and it's never a problem. The owners are always sure to greet you at the table or as you arrive or leave, asking how everyone is. She forgot our app (no Big deal prob didn't need it) but didn't even acknowledge it even when I said "hey if that's still coming out you can just cancel it" (which was clearly not because we were almost finished with entrees before she even came back for the first time ) she didn't say omg I forgot I'm sorry! Lemon I got after everyone else was finished eating because she never came to check on us. Bad food, not the servers fault duh, but you're shitty attitude and lack of service sure as hell was. Someone came out and apologized and offered me something to go, super sweet. It happens no big deal I get it. Theeeen the check comes. Not our check. She goes "ok so the ppl behind you paid yours so, it's cheaper anyway." Girl no! There was 3 entrees on there (three of us too yes) but the air pasta should have been taken off because I didn't touch it or take it home. She gives a tude walks away to do whatever with the check, comes back with it (minus one entree yes but still not the right check but ok) drops it walks away and said YOU'RE WELCOME as she walks away. Haha honey get a new job, you're not a server. And your snotty attitude isn't cute. I've been in this industry almost 15 yrs. Definitely the best pizza in town and I've tried them all. My kids enjoy the plain cheese pie and I absolutely love their white pizza with broccoli. They actually add a lot (the right) amount of cheese and broccoli to the entire pie. Their curbside service is fluid and the staff is very polite. read more
