A very clean and retro style diner, nice to see. Menu was surprisingly lean and to the point, rather than other places where the menu is a small binder of item that range all over the place. The staff were nice and pretty neutral, not much to say for it. The meat lovers skillet was very good, love the finely minced ham, sausage and cuts of bacon, although I will say unsurprisingly it was pretty salty. Sunny side eggs were great, and for the home fries at the bottom, could use more seasonings otherwise great, I did find it weird to use cheese slices over shredded cheese for the skillet. Came here on a Sunday morning and I was not disappointed. The parking is tight which I discovered as I drove the big truck there. Walked in and this place reminded me of a diner from back in the day. It was a fairly large sitting area of tables but being in this kind of diner a Booth is a must. We were greeted by the friendly waitress and soon after sitting down drinks and food were being ordered. I ordered the chili omelette and this did not disappoint. It was stuffed with chili only thing you could add some cheese if you enjoy that but I kept it protein packed. Tossed a little hot sauce on it and I was in a food nirvana. Chili and eggs go together with home-fires surprisingly well. The big breakfast was delicious and cooked just as requested. The price matched the giant plates and I am looking forward to going back and eating a burger. 5/5 stars! read more

I've come to Maddy's for breakfast as long as I've lived in Orange County. I love it their food is great and the people are even better. She was mean from the moment we sat down and we thought maybe she was having a terrible day so we let it go. When it came to pay, she already added a tip into our receipt and told my friend that it was because this is the third time we came and we didn't tip. My family and I ordered brunch from Maddy's to go recently. Some of us ordered lunch items - but there's nothing like diner breakfast, so I ordered an omelet and hash browns. Overall, everyone was satisfied with their food. It was ready pretty quickly (we had a pretty large order on a weekend morning). My omelet was OK. It wasn't hot by the time I got it, but with takeout that's somewhat to be expected. The hash browns weren't bad but they didn't have a ton of flavor either. I'll probably try to dine in here sometime soon to give it a fairer shot. read more

Four signs in the windows said Christmas Eve hours 5.30 am - 2 pm. We walked in at 12.55, only to be told by Miss Congeniality "we're closed," as she shoved us back out the door. I was extremely excited about having breakfast at Maddy's after their make over. What a disappointment. The place looks beautiful and the people welcomed us. We had the choice to pick out our table. We ordered our food and the waitress came out with one plate and explained she dropped my food on the floor by accident. So now my company starts to eat alone when we realize she still added mushrooms in his omelette.. We specifically stated he was allergic to them. She took it back now my food comes and it looks like they just transferred everything over and the plate wasn't even wiped down. (Messy job).. We had to request napkin, ketchup and hot sauce from another waiter walking by because she never came back to check in with us at all. We had to request a box and the check. This was @ 10 am it wasn't busy or packed to make mistakes like this.. I expected better customer service in hopes this would be a weekend place.. Just little tips for the future while a restaurant is slow. 1. clean the tables quickly for new customers coming in because while sitting waiting for our food we noticed they left two tables messy even while we were leaving it still wasn't clean.. Now they had 3 tables dirty tables to "clean up" and make more errors for the new customers. I understand not wanting to seat someone at 1:45 or 1:50, but if you close at 2 I should still be allowed in at 1:30. There were no signs posted that said the restaurant closed at 2. I eat at Maddy's quite often. I purposely stopped by Maddy's on Wednesday 11/24 to check the holiday hours. The sign on the window said closed on Thursday 11/25 and open Friday 11/26 until 7pm. I went there on Friday at 5:17 pm for dinner and they were closed because they were slow. This is no way to do business. If you post your hours your should adhere to them. read more

Husband and I ordered the Irish skillet - potatoes loaded up with corned beef hash, cheese and eggs over easy - oh man this was pure comfort in a skillet. I am very fond of Spanish omelettes and Maddy's omelette is exceptional because the stewed vegetables had a distinct approach which I appreciate.
