    F15. Sesame Chicken (small)
    Diana P.

I think I found my new go-to Chinese takeout place! I ordered the Sesame chicken and absolutely loved it. I debated on upgrading to a large, but decided on the small. I'm so glad I did because even a small is huge!! I can easily make two, maybe three meals out of it. And it was only $8.99! I was nervous that the chicken might be dry or overly fried, but it was delicious. Just the right amount of sauce too. The vegetable rolls have a nice kick because of the horseradish. I really liked them. It's a no brainer - I'll be back many times. For the price and quality, you can't beat it.

My experience at New China Express was pleasant although I did notice a couple of errors which can be easily fixed. Such as a lack of spice, cold be warmer egg roll and questionable sanitation. Some good things that stood out were good service, and a lot of variety and general I enjoyed it a lot but still loves of room for improvement, ambiance could be much quieter.

Drove north 20 minutes today for one reason: to grab an order of steamed dumplings from New China Express at Sancus/Lazelle near Polaris (They run 4 local locations afaik). I saw pics on the web this morning and decided to giddyup for lunch! The dumps were definitely worth the effort - big and plump with springy outer wrappers, loaded with ground meat and spices. I've been seeking lovelies like these ever since my beloved No 1. Chinese restaurant chain was no longer in Cbus. Dipping sauce was near perfect too. Got a side of Hot n Sour soup, also tasty! But now I know where to get steamed "potstickers" when I crave them.

As someone who grew up in Westerville I've been eating at New China Express for well over a decade. In all of that time I've tried a handful of dishes. Including orange chicken, sesame chicken, sweet and sour chicken, fried wontons, and wonton soup. The sweet and sour chicken here is simply unmatched. The chicken is so perfectly battered and fried to the best crispness. The sauce is sooooo thick, red, sweet, sour, everything. It's all I order now after trying other things, it's just perfection. The fried wontons are my favorite appetizer, super crispy exterior with a juicy flavorful filling. I can't recommend this place enough if you're looking for some great chinese fare.

A good place in Polaris is New China Express. It's good food and lots of it. The portions are all massive. It has a few healthy choices. There's several tofu and vegetable options for a good price. I had the Szechuan bean curd. It's about $6.35 for the regular portion. This was massive. It's crazy to think there's a bigger size. It could have had more spice but it was still good. The overall taste was pretty mild. It comes in a light sauce so it's not too hearty. The portions are so big though so it's good to share. It has many other cheap meals. They also have cheap lunch specials but unfortunately none of these include tofu. If you're in Polaris looking for good Chinese go to New China Express. It's located in the plaza with Papa John's at Lazelle Road and Sancus Boulevard. The portions are humongous so bring someone to share.

Probably the best Chinese takeout in Columbus for the lowest price. You get a substantial amount of food for lunch or dinner. They have all the classics you expect from a Chinese takeout place, and they can make any of the spicy ones with less spice. Everything I've tried has been very tasty. I highly recommend this place. It is our go to takeout.

Best Chinese takeout in Polaris. Value vs. quality this is the best I can recommend. Get the dumplings as an appetizer. The lo mein noodles are good, too. Call ahead or order and wait. I've never had to wait more than ten minutes for carry out. My favorite is the sweet and sour chicken, but sometimes I get the hot bean tofu or Szechuan chicken

Last few meals there were terrible. Good prices, but there is a reason for that. Definitely stay away from the General's Chicken.

I was pleased with Mark K and my first visit. It's in a small strip mall, but It's a lot nicer than what you would normally expect to find.. Mark got: Southern Style Egg Rolls - Very Tex-Mex. Good, filling, and not too spicy. Beef Pad Thai - Decent, but not mind-blowing. Could use more scrambled eggs and bean sprouts. I got: Hot And Sour Soup - Quite good with a nice smokey flavor. General Tso's Chicken - It's as good as it gets, folks, meaning it's a rival to my favorite at China Bell in Grove City. The sauce is excellent! The chunks of white chicken meat are just lightly breaded enough to hold the sauce but not overpower the dish. I'd say it's a 95% chicken to 5% breading ratio. And they still serve it with broccoli. Outstanding! I'd go back again to do some more exploring in a heartbeat. Like I said, 5 stars.

I'll start with what was good: the Mei fun, takoyaki, and the (delicious) egg roll. What lacked for me were the soups and the sesame chicken. I can see many people loving the sesame chicken, but I like mine drenched in sauce, and this felt like a healthier version with a glazed grilled chicken taste. I am also not the biggest fan of Asian soups but I always try them in case I find one that changes my mind. People may love the soups as well.

The sizzling tofu dish was super flavorful and the tofu was so soft inside. The sauce went with the assortment of veggies well and I loved how the sauce soaked into the giant sliced mushrooms. The beef chow fun was also a great option. The noodles were chewy and the stir fried veggies and beef had a slightly smoky flavor. The stir fried vegetables were also one of my favorites. Even with just a few ingredients, it is amazing how flavorful this dish was. The dishes also came with rice and I ordered a side of chili oil for extra flavor Also, if you're a fan of steamed custard buns like me, do try them! They were warm and delicious, with a buttery and sweet filling. Sooo good and the perfect way to end the meal. Service is on the slower side since there are only 1-2 servers but it was well worth it. There were lots of seating indoors and the interior had a well worn, homey look to it.

Big squares, crispy and flavorful on the outside, silky and mild (and hot!) on the inside. Served with a tangy sauce that nicely balanced the tofu. I got the gonchu beef rice pot as my entree. Several other things interested me, and my standard for a first visit is Mongolian beef so I can compare methods, but rice pots seem to be their specialty and this looked good. Tender lean beef, marinated in a slightly sweet sauce, with green beans over rice in a metal kettle with lid. Sort of like bibimbap but the kettle/bowl is not searingly hot. Very tasty. We got there around 5:30 and it wasn't very busy, which was nice. We were seated right away. Now let's get to the important part...the food. Everything was hot, fresh, and honestly just really good. First plate in and I already knew I made the right choice. Some standouts for me were the egg drop soup, General Tso's chicken, black pepper shrimp, and the pepper steak. All solid, all flavorful. I made a couple trips (no shame in that at a buffet), and they do a great job keeping everything stocked and fresh. The place was also very clean, which always matters with buffets.
