Come in from the Polaris Parkway side; there's a lot of parking and a sign with the name in back, which confused me, but another sign said to use the main entrance. Good service; she was busy with a couple other diners and constant carryout orders but kept up on my items and drink refills. I tried the agedashi tofu, perhaps the best version I've had. Big squares, crispy and flavorful on the outside, silky and mild (and hot!) on the inside. Served with a tangy sauce that nicely balanced the tofu. I got the gonchu beef rice pot as my entree. Several other things interested me, and my standard for a first visit is Mongolian beef so I can compare methods, but rice pots seem to be their specialty and this looked good. Tender lean beef, marinated in a slightly sweet sauce, with green beans over rice in a metal kettle with lid. Sort of like bibimbap but the kettle/bowl is not searingly hot. Very tasty. I was there for lunch on February 3 2026 and it seemed that our server was also the only cook. We were a party of nine. My friend had a peanut allergy attack after eating two bites of her meal of chicken fried rice. This Chinese restaurant is one of the few that I found that doesn't feel like a typical cheap Chinese restaurant. The inside is very nicely decorated and has a very intimate feeling, great for a date. The food has consistently been very good, and the portions are HUGE, so be weary if ordering multiple items. The person working there was very nice and they prepared the food quickly. One thing that was almost a dealbreaker for me was that they use GrubHub as their online ordering platform. After looking through the extensive menu and making my decisions, I ended up on a page to create a GrubHub account to complete my order. If I wasn't craving Chinese, I would've eaten somewhere else, but my craving caused me to order by phone, trying to find my order through the menu again. If you're in the Polaris Mall / IKEA area and you're wanting some decent Asian food go to Q2 China Bistro. This small, attractive casual restaurant has a small bar with a limited selection of beer, wine and cocktails that you might want to check out. Prices are very reasonable, service is quick and the menu has a nice variety of dishes to choose from. Most of the dishes I've had are pretty good but then again, nothing has really blown me away. Their menu has a pretty wide range of dishes from Szechuan to Hunan to Cantonese. I've got plenty of photos posted so you can get an idea of what things are. These folks are from Southern China so their flavors tend to be on the mild side. They do give you a good portion for the money and as of this writing, they have not raised their prices like most other restaurants have. 4 Stars for some good food in a nice atmosphere. And Here's A Little More Food For Thought: My recommendations: Drinks / Alcohol / Bar: Mai Tai: (B+) They aren't the strongest but it's cold and refreshing. A great value though, for just $5.50. Soups and Appetizers: Egg Drop Soup: (A) Rich and flavorful. The more I ate, the more I wanted. Spring Roll: (A) It's hard to mess these up. Chicken Lettuce Wrap: (A) Good flavor and it's big enough to make a lighter meal out of it. Pair these with a bowl of soup if you're looking for a satisfying lunch that's lower in calories. Hot and Sour Soup: (B+) A solid rendition with a good peppery and slightly smoky/sesame flavor. Salty and Spicy Calamari: (C-) While the flavor is good, they oddly serve this in chunks which really messes with the texture and makes them mushy. It would be so much better if they had cut the calamari into rings and added some sort of spicy dipping sauce like everyone else does. Entrees: Spicy Szechuan Chicken: (B+) This is my favorite dish at Q2. Very good flavor and a good sized portion. The only negative is that it is a little heavy on the baby corn and bamboo shoots. Mongolian Chicken: (B) Good sized portion. Good and flavorful. They go a little heavy on the onion but it's still pretty good. Singapore Noodles: (B) They pretty much nail this dish with that nice mix of noodles and vegetables in a light curry infused sauce. War Su Gai: (C-) A so-so rendition, at best. The chicken breast is cut very thin which really dries it out. A thicker cut of dark meat, some heavier batter and more gravy would have gone a long ways to taking this to a solid B. Q2 has absolutely delish good! One of my favorite things about Q2 is their consistency. The food is always fresh and warm, the serving sizes are pretty generous and the food is always good. I've literally never had a bad meal here. I am able to get at least two meals out of each order. My two favorite dishes are the firecracker chicken and the schezuan beef! I've tried ordering from other local Chinese restaurants and they just can't compare! The inside of the restaurant is very cute. There is a decent sized seating area and a small bar. I don't think I've ever seen anyone sit at the bar and this isn't a place I'd recommend going if you are looking for signature cocktails. They do server alcohol but that's about as far as that goes. I am really picky about egg rolls but I really enjoyed theirs along with the spring roll. The crab rangoon was perfect with just the right amount of filling and super crisp on the edges. My husband ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice and I had the Mongolian Trio. Both were delicious although I liked his slightly better and we ended up trading halfway through our meal. I think there was only one server working so things were a little slow but we have both worked in food and understand what is like to be understaffed. The lady working there told me that the pineapple fried rice and hot rice bowls were their top sellers. The spring roll was extra crispy and tasted like a traditional spring roll. There are handful of Chinese Restaurants around the Westerville/Polaris area. Chinese food usually not my first choice for eat out, just because the menu and flavor do not vary much around the area. My first impression of the restaurant is above average. I like the interior and it remind me of HK style café. Their menu have mix of Chinese and Thai options. Food came out fresh and hot. Both the portion for Beijing noodles and Singapore noodles is fairly big and taste is on point. I also have the famous ramen, which include duck leg and roasted pork. The server told me that they make the roast duck in house. However, the meat is very dry and tough. I would consider coming back and give it another try next time. read more

Worst Chinese takeout ever! We ordered Mongolian Chicken, Fried Rice and Dumplings. The Mongolian was basically all onions, and not like yummy caramelized ones, barely cooked strong raw onion. We tried to take a lot out, as you can see in the photo, but the raw onion taste killed it. The fried rice was so salty, it was like someone dumped a bottle of soy sauce in it or something--we had to toss that too. The dumplings were the only saving part of the order, but that's not a dinner for 2, so we had to order a pizza. I'm not sure if they only do this to their takeout customers, but we're so upset that they would allow that to leave the restaurant, we'll never dine-in to find out. My husband and I came in on a Saturday night at 7pm and the place was empty save for one other couple. During our meal about 5 people came in for to go orders. So I'm assuming that's where they do most of their business. Positives: We were greeted upon entering and were seated quickly. Our waitress was very attentive and nice. The food came out fast and was fresh, the rice wasn't chewy or stale. The crab Rangoon filling seemed to be made in house, very strong onion flavor. The restaurant and tables seemed very clean. Negatives: We were not given small plates with our appetizer so we just ate off the serving dish. When my husband asked what kind of tea they had our waitress didn't know if they served tea and slowly backed awkwardly away from the table to let us continue to look over the menus. Just FYI, they DO serve hot Jasmine green tea. I located it on the menu. Hubs doesn't doesn't think it was green tea as it was dark. But we can't be sure as there was no tea bag in the cup. The food: The "famous ramen" was served in a small cast iron bowl, it was okay, but you could make it at home with a pack of ramen from the grocery store and a leg from a rotisserie chicken. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken. It was a large portion and presented nicely. But again it was just okay. It was average Chinese food plated well. Q2 China Bistro is one of the handful of independently-owned restaurants along the stretch of Polaris Parkway, where mega chains reign supreme. The menu is focused on Cantonese Chinese cooking, which is slightly different (more mild-tasting) than the cuisine of the Hunan and szechuan regions more commonly found at a majority of local Chinese restaurants. I also appreciate that the menu isn't 15 pages long. We went for a late lunch and it wasn't very busy, but that's not surprising given the draw is most likely a professional lunch group from nearby businesses along Polaris. The dining room is sparse and has a bit of a fast food feel to it, but the giant wall mural of grass (or maybe bamboo?) warms up the space. There is a small bar where a couple people can sit, but it strikes me as the sort of place you grab a drink and wait for carry out. I thought the service was great and the food was good enough to make me want to return again for dinner. We learned Q2 closes between lunch and dinner (from 3 till 5), but they allowed us to sit and have a few drinks at our leisure. Disappointing. If you're homesick for your midwestern aunt's early attempts at stir-fry, this is the place for you. We went to Q2 for lunch on the strength of several positive reviews on Yelp and elsewhere. Whether you're a connoisseur of authentic Chinese regional cuisine, or a lover of Chinese-American standards, Q2 will probably disappoint. The positive first: Friendly service, clean and casual but stylish environment, good prices, and an interesting tabletop sweet-and-sour sauce which hinted at the fresh citrus flavors of some of the better Cantonese-American restaurants from decades ago. Some of the dishes sounded interesting and different, and I would have been curious to try them. However, we made the mistake of ordering two of their signature stir fry bowls, and if their signature dishes are any guide, then I have no need to eat here ever again. The presentation in small cast iron pots looked very enticing, but the beef-chicken-shrimp medley was disappointing from first bite. It tasted of store bought hoisin paste and far too much soy sauce, but the celery was crisp and fresh, and stirring it all up with the rice made it palatable and less sad.
