Great place for Vietnamese takeout in Crown Heights. The Banh Mi sandwiches I have tried are all excellent, from the Classic to the Grilled Pork; tasty flavors in a crunchy baguette. The Pho options are equally great; the classic beef pho is my favorite. Also, if you're in the neighborhood and you're craving bubble tea, this place will leave you satisfied. They have lots of flavored, whether you like your bubble tea with milk or without. They will also happily adjust the amount of sugar if, like me, you prefer your bubble tea just slightly sweet. Finally, service is always fast, whether you order directly at the shop or if you place your order on-line. I'm a fan! read more

"Grilled pork" banh mi is not grilled pork. It's thinly shaved obviously previously frozen mystery meat. Dry bland and gross. Probably the worst banh mi sandwich I've ever had in NYC. read more

Bahn Mi Cafe in Crown Heights Brooklyn has some of the best food in the area. I tried the Rice Vermicelli Salad with grilled pork tonight. Good portion size, salad was very fresh & delicious. Included Vietnamese vinaigrette sauce on the side plus a packet of Sriracha sauce. Delivery was fine. No stress. Everything was correct. Tasty too. Would definitely try again - next time will get the Bahn Mi. read more

The pho isn't the most authentic or best, neither is the Banh mi but it's pretty good and very decently priced. Very fast turnaround and hardworking folks. I love their shrimp summer rolls. Probably order once a week with a Vietnamese coffee boba. read more

Recently ordered twice from Banh Mi and opinion is lukewarm. First time order included the Shredded Chicken with Rice Vermicelli bowl and a side of Shrimp Summer Rolls. The Shredded Chicken (white meat) was light, flavorful and a sizable portion. I observed the chicken to be quite salty though. If you order the Grilled chicken, just know it will be thigh/dark meat. The Shrimp Summer Rolls were really good. And a great value at $6.95. Probably my preference between both selections. The second time delivery (today) mirrored the Vermicelli bowl (no Summer Rolls this time). Opinion? Good, filling portion. The main staples were Noodles, lettuce, chicken, peanuts, shredded carrots and cucumbers. Again the chicken was way too salty and I only ate half of it. The rest without eating the chicken was fine. Overall, I tasted better Vermicelli bowls and with a 2nd time order to support my opinion, I am unlikely to try again. read more

Nice little hole in the wall. Food was good. We had the pho, grilled chicken banhmi sandwich, and springrolls. I didn't care for the peanut sauce. Casual setup: order at the counter, pick up food when ready, and bus your own table. They have two tables with two chairs each. No public restroom. It is fine when you get the casual Vietnamese food itch. read more

Food was delivered fast, but I paid them an extra three bucks for extra meat on a vegetarian pork Banh mi sandwich and they gave me basically nothing. The cucumber wasn't cut despite the sandwich being cut. I also ordered extra spicy and it's like it wasn't even seasoned. I understand a lot of granola/brunch type people have been moving in (did they open this place?) but it's okay to season the food a little bit. There are still people in this neighborhood who can handle a bit of seasoning. read more

The chicken bahn sandwich I had was kinda disappointing. The bread was not the freshest and the color of the meat along with the flavor just wasn't the best . Probably the worst chicken bahn I've had . I should have walked out when I saw the microwave they use to re-heat the food to make it "fresh" or when, the guy behind the counter was repulsive and hawked up some spit, very loudly mine you, while I was ordering . I haven't written a review in a long time but after my experience today I feel like I had to. First of all, the food came fast and hot! How dare they Then when I ate it, it made me want to slap somebody, it was so good. The pho tasted home cooked and the broth was so clean and authentic. I also ordered a banh mi and it was so fresh that the sandwich was still warm. I proceeded to inhale it. Thank you, Banh Mi Cafe, for bringing me back to life today and curing my hangover. I can now continue working as a real human being and not as the zombie that I was all morning. read more

Headline news that many only be useful for a denizen of central Crown Heights: you no longer need to walk all the way to Bahnmigos for serviceable Vietnamese sandwiches. My veggie pork bahn mi was a satisfying combo of flavorful, chewy fake meat, fresh julienned vegetables and a good mayo, served on a crispy, if unexceptional, baguette. Extra points for having an array of vegetarian options, including tofu, fake chicken, and fake fish. Service was fast and friendly, though the ambiance is clean and fluorescent to the point of being a little sterile and uninviting. I suspect the owners intend to focus on doing a brisk takeout business, so I'll probably keep walking to Franklin Ave on lazy summer afternoons if I want my bahn mi as a dine in proposition. I wouldn't say this place isn't worth a trip out of the way, but I don't think that's what they're trying to be. For a solid sandwich in a hurry at a reasonable price (under $9), I'm glad Bahn Mi Cafe has come to town. read more

If just going for Banh Mi, it's a 5 star-sandwich, service & all else a good 4. I ordered afew Boba tea and no one said anything special. The classic banh mi is very good, on fresh tasty bread. THE best. My absolute favorite meal in the world ever is their Tofu Banh Mi (extra spicy) and their Garden Rolls. I crave it, I go get it, and I love every moment of it. I just had a pork bahn mi. Oh my god. That sandwich single-handedly cured my depression, anxiety, acne, and (actually) my headache; it did my programming homework for me, it gave me a hug, and also solved every single problem I have ever had. My life is changed. Maybe I've just never had a good bahn mi before or maybe this is the greatest bahn mi to ever bahn mi. When you eat it, you'll get french bread crumbs all over you and your whole mouth will be covered in sauce and you will say thank you. Also got a taro bubble tea with soy milk, and it was delicious (obviously). The people who work here are very nice too. 1,000/10, I'm looking forward to my next one. read more

I Ordered the pork with rice and original banhmi sandwich. The rice did not taste good and something about it made it taste like microwave rice. There was no scallion sauce as described in the description so beware. The pork looks like mushroom and no seasoning whatsoever. Taste sad looked sad couldnt even bother finishing that. Doesnt taste authentic whatsoever and seems to be just another "viet" restaurant catered to those who don't know viet cuisine. The banh mi had mayo in it or some mayo sriracha so definitely nothing like what you get from the real viet restaurant in the chinatowns of nyc. read more
