It's a solid option if you find yourself having a banh mi craving like I did. Portion sizes was decent and it was packed well. Bread was nicely toasted and the sauce used was pretty standard. Ordered a couple of sandwiches (the classic with pate, ham, and roasted ground pork, and the shredded white meat chicken) and some spring rolls from Henry's recently when I was craving Vietnamese food and banh mi. The quality of the sandwiches was good - lots of filling, fresh vegetables and meats, nice texture to the bread - and prices were very reasonable. The meat had a little less flavor than some other places I've ordered from before, but I would still get either sandwich again. I ordered the fried spring rolls expecting them to be cha gio, but they tasted like the vegetable spring rolls you'd get at any Chinese takeout place instead, which was a little disappointing. I would skip those on any future order. Overall, the banh mi was good. I like some other places nearby better, but I would get them again. I got a chicken banh mi and, while everything tastes fine, the chicken is extremely tough and room temperature, which is making me seriously wonder about the long wait (with nobody else in the shop); if they weren't cooking the chicken or heating it up, what was I waiting for? These bahn mi sandwiches didn't feel overly heavy and greasy and came with a lot of veggies (carrots, daikon radishes, cucumber, cilantro). The meat was really well done and tender, and definitely a great place for bahn mi. You have the option of doubling your meat portions if you need more protein. All sandwiches come with butter, mayo, and are served on a toasted French baguette. The wait time is a little long if you're ordering by delivery, so definitely take into account arrival time! Hanco's and 5ive Spice who? This is my favorite bowl of pho in Brooklyn and a very integral part of my regular delivery rotation. I almost always get the tofu pho with the beef broth (I'm not a vegetarian... I just really love their tofu!) and it's DELICIOUS. The broth is light and clean but with an incredibly complex flavor. The tofu is prepared perfectly, and adds a nice sweetness to the bowl. They package everything incredibly well - generous portions of noodles and your protein in one container; fresh herbs, thinly sliced onions, bean sprouts, and fresh lime for squeezing in another; and of course the incredible broth in a quart container, which is perfect for leftovers (because even with my very hefty appetite, I've never been able to finish a bowl in one sitting!) They also provide a few sauces, including extra hot sauce whenever I ask (I always ask), and a great soup spoon. I also order the papaya salad pretty regularly, which is also incredible and SO refreshing. Their dressing is amazing! Delivery is always SUPER quick and as I mentioned, well packaged, and the delivery guys are super nice. This "neighborhood restaurant" is easy to pass by when you're walking around South Slope. I've probably passed their spot several times, not knowing how great their sandwiches are. Finally decided to stop by because I didn't feel like walking much further from their "competition". WITH UPDATES I've been going to Henry's occasionally for some time, and they always have a good Vietnamese sandwich for me. This time, I got the Grilled Pork Banh and a Taro Smoothie, both of which were tasty and reasonably-priced. In general, this place is definitely one of my go-to's when I'm running low on prepared food at home. Grilled Pork Banh Mi ($7): Flavorful and tender pork with all the classic veggies (cucumber, pickled carrots, etc.). I've tried many of their sandwiches, and they have all been good; this one is also good, but it has much more potential. I think adding a bit more mayo and maybe including a light sauce for the pork would put it over the top. UPDATE: I think they took this suggestion for more mayo/sauce, because I ordered it again and it seemed a bit better than last time. Thank you! Taro Smoothie ($5): This tasted just like a vanilla bean milkshake, so it was delicious, of course. I started my meal with this, and it was surprisingly filling! Henry's is your typical hole in the wall Vietnamese sandwich place. Excellent range of vegetarian options, including tofu but also various fake meats. Choose mild, medium or spicy for the sauce. They toast the bread so it's crunchy and warm. If you're not into bread, they have a brown rice bowl for the same price as the sandwich, and they also do pho. There's not really space to eat here in normal times, and certainly during Covid-19 times this is a to go place. There's a screen between kitchen and customers, which is good, because the guy was wearing his mask UNDER his nose. That's the only reason I'm taking off a star. read more

Decent banh mi! Initially I wanted to get pho but decided to get the classic banh mi to go instead because there were no seating. I briefly sat on the bench at the bakery nearby that was still closed, but the old lady who runs the bakery came out shortly after and yelled at me to get off. She recognized what I'm eating right away and told me she wasn't fond of the crumbs from banh mi so I assume a lot of people who buy banh mi sit here to eat. Seeing that the people at Henry's have done nothing to accommodate customers who want to eat here, I bet the relationship between the two shops are pretty bad. Anyways, after getting shooed away, I finished my sandwich standing in front of the store. Fortunately there was a random shelf left right next to the shop so I put my drink there and it kind of worked out that way. I hope they decide to at least set up some outdoor seating. Great delivery experience. The food came earlier than expected and was prepared exactly as ordered. The beef pho was pretty decent; I haven't experienced that many pho joints in the area so this one is my favorite so far. Wished there was a bit more broth though. My first banh mi. I got the pork. Mild, 'cause I'm a coward. As another reviewer pointed out, the pork sandwich has too many gristly bits which mar the experience. Other than that the bread has a nice crispy crust and the vegetation is fresh and well dressed. The odd thing is that they have wi-fi. I had the grilled pork with rice dish from here. It was a bit of a disappointment because this place does not have the normal grilled pork they grill themselves like a Vietnamese place should. Henry's is one of my go-to lunch spots in the neighborhood. I love the beef pho and the grilled chicken ban-mi spicy. If you are looking for an appetizer, the summer rolls are also nice. While the menu is short, everything on it is delicious. Also, if you are hoping for beef pho, make sure you don't order too late at night because they continually make it fresh and sell out by the end of the day.
