There is an Armenian saying called Hashva Kokh. Loosely translated to price gouging. I ordered the koobideh, which normally comes with rice. I asked them to substitute the bread instead. So they charged me full price for the koobideh, minus the rice. Plus an extra $3 for the bread which they bring to table anyway when you sit down. I thought it was an error so I asked the waiter and he said no that they charge if you want bread instead of rice. Which doesn't make sense at all. read more

Service is excellent. Ambiance is ok for small place. Fresh baked bread is great. Food used to be great but today it was subpar at best. Kabob koobideh (they call it luleh kabob on their menu) was not very tasty and not was not hot. Koobideh has to be served hot off the grill. The kabob barg was chewy. Yogurt with shallots was made with very low quality yogurt. They also over charged us and when we told them gave us a refund for their mistake. First time this has happened to us at this place but worth mentioning since I noticed other reviewers had said the same thing bout overcharging. We've been to this place many times and always liked their food. First time we had subpar dishes. Next time we will just go to Raffi's if we are in Glendale. Such a shame to see yet one more Persian restaurant go down like this. But after reading the other reviews saying the same thing, I have to join the chorus of people pointing out that the staff here aren't taking Covid precautions. Not one of the staff here was wearing a mask in the hour we were here. If the owners want to risk the thousands of dollars in fines, that's their business, but with the amount of elderly people dining in here (at least during my visit), it becomes a matter of life or death. Covid is still killing people every day. I would not come back, as the staff doesn't seem to care about their customers enough to simply wear a mask during service. Last week was rainy all week and I was craving for Abgoosht (Dizi). Found this place. We drove with my boyfriend from Santa Monica. Amazing Abgoosht and Shish kebab, fresh baked naan. However the service wasn't good unfortunately. It seems like if they know you they serve you differently. We noticed that they brought bigger and more full palates of herbs and onions and more bread to some while our bread basket had only one bread and whole bunch of store bought lavash!!! Even when we asked for tea, the sugar cub dish they brought for the table next to us was different and kind of a fancy one haha! I was quite surprised. It's a shame that they don't have a great service while the food is delicious. Not to mention their sides are quite pricy. $9 for maybe 10oz yogurt-shallot or Shirzi salad. Also we asked for water and they brought us water bottle and charged us for those. Well you should at least let people know that you don't have tap water if that's the case!
