Another place in this area that has tasty food and RIDICULOUSLY large portions at an extremely fair price. I ordered my food to be delivered by a third party app but next time I'll need to dine in or pick the food up myself to leave them a big fat tip. I'm a big fan of variety and leftovers, so I ordered 7 things and EVERYTHING WAS SO GOOD. I had never heard of Dizi, but was like, sure why the hell not? Then I saw they had homemade bread and there was a limit of 2 per meal, so I figured it was (a) small and/or (b) so good that people were ordering too many. Y'ALL. Our overall experience has been pleasant, the food was fresh, tasty and the service was satisfactory. The place is close to the 5 freeway by San Fernando & Western, located in a small strip mall, parking is a little difficult. But what this place lack in curb appeal and parking they sure make up for their delicious food...I absolutely love their fresh bread made to order, I don't think any other restaurants in Glendale prepares fresh bread. The bread goes really well with their hummus and eggplant appetizer dips, their eggplant is bold and flavorful slightly peppery (very well blended). Here is the food we sampled: 1. Appetizer - Hummus and Eggplant 2. Luleh Kabob - lean ground beef, charbroiled to perfection, this kabob is so tasty, very well seasoned in a word delicious 3. Chicken Kabob (boneless) marinated chicken tenders are super juicy and tastefully seasoned 4. Today I took my two friends for lunch, we had the worse service, the owner who has a black beard was extremely rude & was taking our order, he didn't bring us the menu & we had to ask for menu, after a server brought our foods they never came to our table to ask if we need anything else, the kabobs were too salty & also we didn't ask for bottle water they brought it to our table & after charged us for water as well which wedidn'task, since we're not over with covid so we thought restaurant is providing to their customers bottle water and also no staffs was wearing a mask including owner, i don't recommend anybody to this restaurant & go give your business to another place who they will appreciate your business! read more

Watch your bill! I visited this restaurant with a friend on December 23. The prices ($30+ per plate) seemed a little high for the ambience, but I felt that if the food was really good, it would still be worth it. The waiter was rude and unpleasant with us from the start, although he seemed to interact more with some of the other customers, who seemed to be regulars. The busboy was friendly, though. Unfortunately, the food wasn't particularly memorable, aside from the homemade bread. Neither of us complained about anything, though, and we were polite and respectful during our time there. Our bill came to $78.17 and I left a $15 tip, making a total of 93.17. However, while reviewing my debit card charges a few days later, I saw that we had been billed $108.22. Could this have been an honest mistake? Possibly. However, in light of some of the other reviews posted here, less likely. Regardless, I would recommend that you watch your bill and your bank statement closely. read more

This place offers best Persian food in USA, in my opinion. I only wish they had bigger space. Today I made a reservation for party of 13 and our host, Mr. Saeed and rest of the folks did everything they could so we feel comfortable. All 13 guests of my party LOVED their meal. The highlight was Soltani kebab, Dizi, and Lamb kebab. Not to forget our combinations of Shirazi salad, Shallot and cucumber yogurt, and Kashk-e-bademjan paired with fresh bread! So so good. Dizi. Have you heard of it? I hadn't until reading a wonderful Jonathan Gold review of this small restaurant which sits in a small strip mall in Glendale. Dizi (pronounced dee-zee) is a traditional Persian stew made in a pot which is delivered to table complete with pestle for mashing. According to my friendly and helpful server, in his country dizi is traditionally served in a "dizi house" which is often near construction sites or wherever hardworking people are found. First, a plate of sliced radishes, onions and Persian basil is placed on the table. My server advised me that Persian basil is the best basil in the world (better than Italian and Hawaiian....who knew there were so many basils?) and I am inclined to agree. It's light, flavorful but not too strong, and I gobbled almost all of it down. Then, a flat bread arrives hot off the griddle. It's gigantic and delicious. And then....the piece d'resistance: a pot full of delicious stew is placed on your table. My server showed me how to mash the vegetables, chickpeas and meat within after pouring the broth out into the bowl. He told me it would be fine to eat the vegetables and meat with flat bread or to put it all in the broth. Dizi is rich comfort food, rather bland and requiring some salt and pepper to taste. Great spot for some kabob! The employees are nice and attentive, the place feels familiar and clean, there is parking right outside. We went on a Monday of a holiday weekend during the afternoon and the place was packed. I really liked the bread and hummus as well as the kabob, obviously. The food was great! we ordered via phone for pick up so we didn't have to wait as long and they ended up giving us an extra side (but I can't remember what it was called). Lots of complimentary bread and veggies that came with the main meal. I was very full and had many leftovers from just a kabob plate. Rude waiters, sketchy environment/attitudes, and food was SUPER OVERPRICED. We asked for water (there were water glasses on the table which obviously basic restaurant knowledge if there's glasses then the water is most likely free right?) and he brings us two water bottles he charged us for and didn't tell us for how much. The receipt didn't say either. For 2 plates and 1 appetizer and two bottles of water we paid almost 60 dollars. The reason I am giving 1 star to this place is because at the end when we got our check we noticed they charged us $3 because we didn't order 4 entrees. If you ever had Persian food, most portions are good for two people. This restaurant is AMAZING. It's a very small restaurant in the corner of a strip mall. We sat ourselves. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. So, if it's your first time, you're in good hands. For appetizers we had the eggplant and yogurt shallot. The hot fresh bread really complimented that dish. Then for the main course we got the Dizi which was maybe one of the best dishes I've ever eaten. It kinda reminds me of Birria but maybe better lol. The waiters are not very nice but they move fast so they can serve everyone. But the food here is so amazing and to die for that it will make you forget about the craziness.
