We went to Phoenix for a quick get away and overheard ppl talking about this place on the plane. So the four of us went before we had to fly back home. It's quite YUMMY. Will def go back. What a nice spot. My friend and I were looking for something along the southern part of the valley as you continue taking the 10 down south, and I found this spot. My friend had a personal pizza with potato and egg and really liked it. I had the Italian beef sandwich and it was delicious. The fries were also very tasty. We shared their pizza crust bread with cheese, which is basically a pizza with garlic butter and cheesy goodness. We also both had some cocktails that were quite nice. Our waitress was honestly great, so attentive and friendly. They have indoor and outdoor (covered) spaces, and they seem to get pretty packed so be prepared. It's worth it! read more

I've been coming here on and off for years. Probably my favorite Nello's location. Our server was friendly and quick. The restaurant is bright and cheery inside and the food is always delicious. One of the best Italian/pizza spots in the area. We became big fans of the thin crust pizza, the deep dish not so much. We had a Caesar salad which was solid and great sharing size. I recommend the pizza that has potato, for something different. Their pepperoni pizza is also delicious. I love that they put fresh basil and mozzarella. Walked in over half restaurant empty but could not seat a party of 2 anywhere except outside next to a baby and family where the seats were literally on top of their table. The hostess said they were all reservations but they plenty of areas to seat us elsewhere. We don't go out that often but when we go as a couple I would like to sit somewhere not on top of another family. Yesterday I went to Nellos because I was craving their golden wings( I love them for the great quality and the sauce is just perfect) and I ordered them well done .... Just gotta say they were again great, and not sure who was cooking because they were literally excellent, a notch up from their already great taste. The sauce was dry enough to stick to wing, but not dry tasting, the grill marks made them look spectacular and they were crispy without being burnt! You have to try these! So then a pizza crust with cheese goes by and it kinda looked a step up too, so I ordered it! Amazing a simple crust w cheese could be soooo good! Wish I had a picture! I couldn't eat it all of course so I took it home and my family agreed that the food was excellent as usual. It's been many years, since I ate at a Nello's. I guess I should have ordered a pizza, because the Salmon Cous Cous salad was a big disappointment. It would be my guess there were no more than 2oz. of salmon in the bowl, I literally searched for it. It lacked seasoning and acidity, and it just tasted "dry". It reminded me of tiny pieces of pulled pork hiding in the dish. That's not how you serve salmon. On a positive note, we shared the garlic bread with cheese, tomatoes and basil, and it was fresh and tasty, yet ridiculously overpriced. The servers were friendly, hence I give the place 3 stars. We live practically around the corner from Nellos so we go there quite often. Their hand tossed pizza cooked in a Woodfire oven is delicious and it comes really quickly. We also always get a really large Caesar salad that has melt in your mouth croutons. The ambience is really inviting and comfortable and they have a great covered outdoor area when the weather is appropriate. In addition to pizza they have several pasta, dishes, sandwiches, and burgers definitely a place to try. read more

I usually give a great review for Nello's. I am just unsure what has happened, if it's new owners or new managers / staff but we went Saturday and I am 99 percent sure it will be my last time. The pizza had changed, the menu is limited now and the staff / Manager is RUDE ! We ordered all 3 thin crust pizzas. One came out wrong and our waitress was mad at us for the error. No apology. Basically two words I'll fix it and walks away. Tip ( if you use a pen and paper to write it down that will help ) ! The whole experience she was not pleasant. The manager then 20 minutes later brings out the pizza that has been cooked correctly and also has no apology. Sets it down and says do you need anything else and walks away. We get the bill and I notice they didn't even take it off ! So I ask about it am told that she was told not to take it off, but will go ask the manager again. I also notice for fresh mozzarella we were charged TWICE at this point I am saying nothing as I just want to leave. Then we hear a man yelling as a lady is leaving with his change.It was just a mess ! I am appalled at the way we and others were treated ! read more

We had a pick up order and upon my fiancé's arrival witnessed the individual, Lucius, at the register, go back to prepare my pizza and touch it without wearing gloves. When he brought me the pizza, I asked if it was standard procedure to use gloves, and he confirmed that it was. However, when I questioned why he didn't use gloves, he initially claimed that he had, which was untrue. After I pointed out where I saw him touch my pizza, he apologized. I requested to speak with the manager, Jess. Instead of addressing my concerns directly, she mentioned that the staff member had a different version of the story, implying that I was not being truthful. Although she offered to cover my beer while I waited for another pizza (the first one was made incorrectly as it was to have no cheese- 2 pizzas all together) I ultimately decided to cancel the entire order and went to Spinato's, where we had a much better experience. read more

Had an outing with a friend and this place was selected for their outdoor, dog friendly patio. Great space, great food, and great service. Our server was super nice and very helpful, especially when selecting wine. The server mentioned the owner is very proud of the wines they carry and teaches the servers what he knows about wine, to train them so they can explain the wines to the patrons. I think that was an interesting tidbit to learn. I enjoyed our pizzas and our experience. I would come back and I would recommend it for a low key pizza place. I was in town and went to meet a friend for drink and a quick bite at Nello's. I'd actually never heard of this place, but it's obviously very popular, it was packed! There was a steady flow of people coming in and out the whole time that I was there, and a big long line at the to go orders. Fortunately we were able to get a couple seats at the bar before it filled up. Marisa was our bartender and she was quite a bright and smiling face to welcome us. She immediately got our drinks, and made me one of the best Aperol spritz I've had. She took her food order and I ordered the house salad with house dressing along with the meatball sandwich. I'm not sure what they put in their house dressing but it sure was good. The sandwich was huge with just the right amount of sauce and cheese, the meatballs were big and I could tell they were freshly made. I had to take half of it home for later. The food at Nello's was good. I had an eggplant with noodles and one slice of bread . They should have it be garlic bread but it was vey tasty. The seating was comfortable and the service was excellent. The delivery of the food was pretty quick. The only downside was when more people arrived it was noisy. I would recommend the place for its pizza. My three friends had their pizza and they liked it. They did have an outdoor patio with spray mist. So I say give it a try. read more

Nello's was by far one of our favorite places to eat! We were looking forward to a kickback evening at home and we find a PUBIC HAIR stuck between a pepperoni and olive!! I called Nello's to speak with a supervisor. All I wanted was a refund and an apology. The supervisor immediately says it's not a PUBIC HAIR and asks me not to post this. I am deeply disgusted and disappointed! Nello's was our go to. Sadly we will never return. But why WHY WOULD A PUBIC HAIR BE BAKED IN OUR PIZZA?! My mother-in-law decided she wanted to take my wife and I out for some pizza. She usually relies on my recommendations. After reading Yelp and checking out their website, we decided to give Nello's a whirl and we are sure glad we did! First off, DAILY happy hour 3-6 pm! $2 off glasses of wine and $5 draft beers. Coors Light for those that enjoy water and is the lowest beer at $4 per draft. $3 off all appetizers, including wings which most places exclude. Love places that have HH on weekend days. Service was attentive, friendly, and helpful. Place was kinda slow at 3 pm(ish) on a Sunday but filled up towards the end of our meal. Nice, clean overall restaurant. The HH deals were good, but the pizzas were amazing! For both pies we tried the hand-tossed crust. The Sajone had delicious sausage, pepperoni, and basil on it. Quality crust. Thin but not too thin. The Yukon Gold pizza is life-changing. Top 5 white pizzas I've ever had. The combo of potatoes, pancetta, and gorgonzola was insane. Wings were solid, and the Old World Classic salad was also tasty. Prices are great here. We'll be back. Next time we'll probably try the Fritto Misto and their classic charcuterie board ($20 is a great price point for quality meat and cheese). read more

I was really wanting pizza and Nello's did not disappoint! Everything we order was hot and fresh and flavorful. I love pizza with ricotta and it gave the classic European great flavor with the sausage. The deluxe pizza was great as well. You can't go wrong with the thin or thick crust. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the service was not amazing. We were only checked on when we ordered and when we got our food even though we needed refills before our food came. It was rather slow, but the waitress was very kind. We sat outside where is was shaded and had fans for hot days. This is a great place to take families as well! read more

Love me some Nellos!! My colleague and I go here almost once a week for their lunch special. You can't go wrong with a personal pizza, salad, and drink for under $15/each. They've got a great menu selection and service has always been consistent. Food is excellent. I love the house dressing on their garden salad. They have ample seating both indoors and outside and parking is no issue either. Inside is clean, there's various seating for different group types and bar seating as well. read more

You lost a long time customer tonight because of your hostess. My wife and I came in and requested a booth. The young girl took us to a half table half booth. I walked back up to the hostess station and said could we please get one of those two booths over there? She told me hold on went and talked to some lady who I imagine was a manager and then walked right past me to seat two people who had just walked in. She seated them in one of the two booths I had just requested, and when she walked back over. I asked if we could have the other one. She said no that one's reserved. I said why did you seat them when they walked in after us she said I already gave you a table and you just didn't like it. My wife and I walked out and will probably never be back. We moved to Ahwatukee almost 10 years ago and has always been our favorite pizza spot. It's a shame that an awkward 15-year-old girl ruined our Saturday night. Thin crust, sausage, bacon, pepperoni, and a lot of different vegetables. It was so good. I actually saved a couple pieces that I could have for breakfast. People at the table, ordered pepperoni, sausage pizza. A half-and-half pizza, margarita pizza, on the other side, pepperoni, and a Caesar salad. One of my local favorites to go and bring guests from out of town. Food is constantly great, the staff is prompt and friendly. A super chill (not trendy) family style restaurant. The food is decent, but service not so much. Ordered a garden salad for pick up, which clearly states on the menu (screenshot provided) that it comes with turkey or ham. Got home, and the salad had no protein on it. I've ordered this salad a lot over the years, and it's always come with a choice of turkey or ham with up charges for chicken or to double the turkey/ham. Given the main thing you're paying for on this salad is that protein I called to ask that the salad be refunded (not the rest of the order - just the salad). The manager I spoke with told me the protein choice didn't come through with the order. Fair enough, but the menu clearly says the salad includes turkey / ham. Order did not specify no protein (whereas I did remove other things that were specified on the order receipt). Instead of making any attempt to correct the issue, the manager instead tried to gaslight me by saying the salad doesn't include any protein. When told the online menu clearly specifies that turkey / ham is included, she didn't even look at the online menu and instead told me the protein hasn't been included for "a very long time." Funny since Nello's own menu says differently, and I've bought this salad for years in restaurant without this issue ever arising. If they didn't want to correct the issue because it didn't come through on the order that's one thing, but a manager trying to be deceptive about it and gaslight a customer is completely unacceptable. I've eaten at Nello's a fair bit, and you've made a lot more from my family than that $15 salad. Not a penny more after this though. read more

I've been coming here since I was a kid but the quality of the food has gone downhill. I paid $16 for a burger that tasted like it should've been half the price. The fries were good but nothing special, and the bun tasted honestly really bad, the meat and cheese were fine but it tasted like cheap diner food- not really worth $20 per meal with tip. The service was really good and it's a good location. I know Nello's isn't known for their burgers so if I came back I'd probably get the pizza instead. read more
