I thought Neighborhood sushi had fish that was fresh and good quality but nothing that special worth the price on the menu. Portion sizes were pretty small but it was easy to order extra items and they still came out pretty quickly. I came for a graduation dinner celebration with my parents and it was easy enough to make reservations and find street parking nearby. Service was friendly without being overbearing and they cleared off empty plates quickly.

Always a favorite sushi spot in austin!! We got seated in a back area I had never been in before which was awesome. They constantly had servers checking in on us and being attentive! Service was great and drinks/food were amazing of course. Fluke roll was probably my favorite and is one of my favorite rolls in austin. I got the Red Dragon drink and it was like a spicy fruity Moscow mule, sooo good!

A fun sushi speakeasy with fun vibes! I heard you can't enter in through the street, you have to enter through the unlabeled door in the back. The majority of the seating is either at booths or at the sushi bar. The lighting and vibes inside are quite nice - not pretentious, but still elevated. It took a while for our server to take our order after the first time she checked in with us, but the food came out surprisingly fast. We ordered: - Birds Nest Salad ($11) - loved the crunch and texture, would definitely recommend - Jumbo Gulf Shrimp Tempura ($14) - a little wild to think that you're paying $7 for one piece of big shrimp (it only comes with 2 pieces), but the flavor was good and the batter was different than other tempuras I've had - Seaweed Salad ($7) - not gonna lie I think this is the tastiest seaweed salad I've ever had - Spicy Tuna Roll - typically spicy tuna rolls at restaurants consist of ground up tuna but this was whole pieces of tuna which I really enjoyed. There is a decent amount of parking in the back of the restaurant, where the speakeasy entrance is!

I came to neighborhood sushi for the first time with a couple friends and was so impressed! The restaurant was really cute and clean and I really appreciated the layout of the tables, even when busy it didn't feel as if people were on top of one another. I loved the hot towels to start, and our server Jason was amazing! He was super knowledgeable and fun, he kept checking in and making light conversation with us! He had great suggestions for vegetarian options for my friends, his favorite nigiri order as well as dessert! There was a large selection of drinks, including N/A options. The grilled edamame were some of the best I've had! I got a special salmon roll with grilled pineapple and it was perfectly balanced and so tasty. When I moved from California to Texas I worried the sushi scene would disappoint, but Neighborhood Sushi did the opposite! I can't wait to go back!

I had been thoroughly impressed by this place several years ago with wonderful but our last visit was quite underwhelming. Some items like the tempura were good but the Hamachi collar at $24 felt totally overpriced and dry, and the 3 rolls we tried were very average, think all you can eat quality level, not $20 per roll level. They fill them with things other than fish and the taste is just so average, even the rice wasn't cooked all the way. $300 later and our group of 3 people left totally unimpressed. Not again.

Cool speakeasy vibe and perfect for a date night! I really enjoyed my experience but just know what you are getting when you go. The sushi is great quality, but you can definitely find similar for a more affordable price. We ended up ordering more after we placed our first order because we were still hungry. It is smaller portions and pretty expensive. This place is more about the ambiance overall and I thought the service was good. I'd go back for drinks and some apps but probably not full dinner. My ratings of my dishes are below. Baja bass yakitori - 10/10, great cook on this and the black garlic soy sauce was the perfect glaze. We also loved the side of pickled shishito and tomato. Yellowtail belly nigiri - 7/10, good not great but just because of my personal preference not the quality. I prefer just regular yellowtail Eggplant nigiri - 10/10, this was so simple and yet surprisingly flavorful and we wished we had gotten more King salmon nigiri - 10/10, great quality fish Salmon avocado hand roll - 6/10, too much going on with this couldn't really taste the quality of the fish Snow crab hand roll - 10/10, so good! Crab was perfect in this Spicy tuna roll - 9/10, good spice and fresh roll. A little small though for the price Baja bass nigiri - 10/10, we ended up ordering this later on because we liked the appetizer so much and wanted more of the bass. Definitely our favorite fish of the night. Buttery texture and so flavorful

Amazing service. The eggplant sushi was so good. The yellowtail was amazing! Great environment

The service was great from our server! Enjoyed the ambiance, and probably the best sushi here in Austin!! Will go back every time.

Very cool spot. Perfect for date night as it's very dark and intimate. It reminded me of a speakeasy. Forewarning: they are SERIOUS about the dim lighting. An employee (very politely) told me that they do not allow extra lighting equipment (such as a selfie light), so I did not get the most aesthetic picture of my sushi. If you like to document your food, this is definitely something to keep in mind! The food was super solid. The edamame had an amazing flavor. I dipped my sushi in the juice and it was amazing. My spicy tuna was good (was not very spicy tho). It didn't blow my socks off, but it was definitely quality.

I was excited to come back for lunch as Neighborhood has good specials, but I was underwhelmed by value. The staff were very knowledgeable and accommodating to make the Vegetarian combo be Vegan, but they forgot to give me the included salad and I didn't realize until after I had already paid and left. Overall the food was tasty, but I left hungry, which is disappointing for the price.

This is a cute little spot off Congress Ave. Everything I ordered was fresh and tasted great. I felt that their pricing was a bit much for simple menu items- spicy tuna roll was about $19 and edamame, although delicious, was $10. I'd have liked to try more options, but held back because of pricing resulting in still feeling peckish after leaving. Other than that, I liked how the place was decorated and appreciated how diligent our server was. I could see myself returning if ever I'm in a splurging mood.

Absolutely amazing. Each piece of nigiri was a 10/10 and Neighborhood has some of the best hand rolls in Austin. We really can't even choose a favorite. The sake-based cocktails were bomb. My favorite was the Drunken Angel and I think it's the best cocktail I've ever had, and I'm not usually the biggest fan of sake. Would love to come back to try different menu items but everything we ordered was so delicious I don't know if there's enough room to explore. Tomas made our experience amazing. He was very friendly, speedy, had lots of enthusiasm for sushi, and gave great menu recommendations. He brought us a pickled wasabi to have with our nigiris and it definitely elevated the experience.

Neighborhood Sushi is a quaint hidden gem tucked away on Congress, with its entrance in the rear adding to the discreet charm. The minimalist vibe is exactly what I appreciate in a sushi spot--clean, simple, and focused on quality. Prices are fair, and while this was just a pit stop before Perla's, it left a solid impression. Great drinks and a laid-back atmosphere make it worth a return visit. Looking forward to trying more next time! Also, the fire smoke smells in the restrooms remind me of my favorite Henri Bendel New York Firewood Scented Candle that's discontinued. Great attention to detail to match the dark vibes in the restrooms.

Authentic Japanese food. We lived in Hawaii 40 years. We know from our what it should taste like. Too bad they don't make chawamushi.

Both of the sandos were perfect. The wagyu beef sando had a little bit more flavor but it was slight and both are worth trying. Every roll was enjoyable and I felt like each had a little twist that really made the flavors explosive, like a shaved onion or a crispy puff on the side of the roll. The service was stellar and they were easy to book on OpenTable I also tried the green tea mocktail and found it to be light and refreshing and I was happy that it wasn't super sweet My two favorite items were: 1. The Edamame - which were charred in a way that I feel like I've never experienced it before and had such great flavor. 2. The scallop roll had a thinly sliced shaved truffle on top that made the roll simple yet out of this world. Shout out to the manager who came by just to check in. Because of the influx of so many amazing new sushi spots opening up in town. I forget to visit my old favorite spots and neglecting tenten was a big mistake. Their happy hour is absolutely one of the best deals there is and on Tuesdays they have $10 rolls all night which is an absolute steal. I particularly went there on a Wednesday to try their A5 Wagyu sandwich, but because I hadn't been there in so long, I wanted to have all the rolls that sounded so amazing on the happy hour menu that I couldn't even get to the sandwich. Every single role we had was absolutely off the charts. They even had a Toro role on happy hour for $10 which was such a steal. The service and ambience was also as usual impeccable. Can't wait to come back here to try the sandwich on another Wednesday
