Well, have no fear: the alternate name for this place is 17.6 Degrees Fahrenheit, but I guess that didn't really roll off the tongue that well. Speaking of roll, this place has roll ice cream! The flavors here are actually pretty thought-out and actually taste pretty good--even the ones that are kinda weird. Also, I consider part of the slightly high $6.50 price to be the filming of the actual process. Consider that $1 of your experience, and let's say you consider $1 as a tip, and you'll probably be a little more happy paying that much. Unlimited toppings is I guess kinda limited in a sense by the physical laws of this universe. There's only so much stuff that can fit on the cup without falling out. Overall, it's a nice little shop that is fun to stop by with some friends to enjoy some rolled ice. It makes the Pacific Square Plaza a little more fun, and I'm grateful for it. read more

Novelty... It was a warm afternoon and we wanted to try some new ice cream places after the kids basketball game. We ventured into this store and immediately were greeted with a visual display of the two workers crafting the ice cream rolls on an ice cold metal platter. We ordered an ice cream roll and waited about 5-10 minutes for them to prepare the ice cream. This was reasonable since there was a line ahead of us and i knew this was a painstaking process. The setup of where you ordered and where you picked up didn't seem to be well thought out. The flow of the store didn't make sense. That was the least of my concern, since i wanted to taste the ice cream. The cost of the ice cream was $8.50 and you are welcome to add as many toppings as you want. We added and assortment of additional toppings which was much appreciated, but for the cost of the ice cream rolls it made sense. The taste of the ice cream was nothing special. What a find! After dinner last night, we searched for desserts nearby and boom, this ice cream place popped up and boy were we happy we found it. This place was a great find and we were so very happy after we tasted their desserts. We order 3 different kinds. My daughter got the fruity pebbles, my other daughter got the taro and hubby and I shared the mango-go! All 3 were delicious! The fruity pebbles in that rolled up ice cream was absolutely delicious and the taro, you can really taste the taro as if you were eating the actual taro. Our mango was so good, we finished our cup before getting home, it was seriously that good! Why haven't we found this place? We are always in the area and never had the chance to try. They are located next to Tokyo Central in the same plaza as Newport Chinese dim sum. They are in the corner next to sweet rice. The best part is that their toppings are free and they had a pretty good selection. From fruits to sweet treats, our kids truly enjoyed their desserts and we will definitely be back again and again! We stumbled upon this place after doing a Yelp search for ice cream after spending a fun afternoon at the nearby Splash Pad in Lawndale. Walking in, I was happily surprised that this place serves rolled ice cream. Thai rolled ice cream, to be specific. They have a menu board of about 11 flavors - from the expected Oreo and Strawberry to more exotic like Thai tea and Avocado. I decided to get the Mango Go for the kidlet and I to share. You place your order and then wait until they call your number. Once your number is called, go to the pickup side and then tell the employee what toppings you'd like. You can pick as many and as much as you'd like as long as it fits in the cup. They have an assortment of toppings that include whipped cream, fresh fruit, sprinkles, Hello Panda cookies, rolled cookies, graham crackers, coconut flakes, chocolate sauce, condensed milk, nuts, Pocky, and more. I am assuming the price point is higher due to their unlimited toppings. I believe my Mango Go came out to $7 and change. My Mango Go was ordered with fresh mango, coconut, whipped cream, and a rolled cookie. It was very pretty and tasted so fresh and fruity! This heat wave has me craving ice cream every day. Friday night was unbearable and I was in the South Bay so I stopped by -8c. I ordered the horchata ice cream-it tasted nothing like horchata-in the bowl with toppings. The boba toppings were a little strange (they were basically white beads with a fruity flavor that dissolved very quickly). The texture was nothing like the boba from milk tea. I also ordered mochi toppings and the mochi was basically sugar coated gum drops. I expected the Japanese ice cream cakes but instead received gum drops. The aesthetics in this place was adorable! We came on a Tuesday night and it was empty, plenty of parking in the lot. I got the chocolate monkey with Nutella and banana and it was delicious. I wasn't too sure of how it all worked, but after they rolled my ice cream they called me and asked what toppings I wanted. I asked how many I can get and he said as many that can fit in the cup. I didn't even know what to get! I ended up with just mochi and strawberries. I probably should have gotten a sauce on top but it's okay, maybe it would have been too much. Not sure if I wanna wait that long again for rolled ice cream, but hey it must be good right? It was solid. I had what is referred to as the chocolate monkey. It was yummy and I ate it all, even though it's enough ice cream for 2-3 people. There's only one price, it costs $6.50. What makes it worth it is you can have them add unlimited toppings. I had an assortment of fruit, nuts, coconut, and sprinkles on mine. I like the the whole vibe of the place. They have an inviting seating area. What throws you off is that the pickup area is near the front door so you think there are a lot of people waiting to order, but that area is around the corner. It is an interactive experience because you can watch as they melt and re-freeze your ice cream on their platform area. The staff are young, quick, and very polite. The texture of the ice cream was great: hard, like liquid nitrogen ice cream, but it melted quickly enough in your mouth. The thai tea flavor was strong but not overbearing. One note: the restroom is absolutely disgusting. No seat covers, no toilet paper, and water all over the floor. I came back out because I saw that a worker was waiting to get in to clean it, so I went back in after she finished up in there. Um, it was as if she just dumped a bucket of water on the toilet, because it was dripping wet (now we know where the water on the floor comes from), and there were no paper towels or toilet paper to wipe it off. Delicious! I was looking for a dessert place after dinner. My normal go to is boba or 85 Degrees, but ice cream seemed liked a more inciting choice. Yelp located me to -8 Ice Cream. This location is in the Pacific Square shopping center (location with other stores like Tea Station, Oko, etc.). There is plenty of parking to go around. The location is nestled in a small corner and I almost missed it except for the line of people out the door. I came on a Sunday night and it was pretty packed. For those who have not been here, they have roll ice cream, where they roll up your ice cream (you can choose the flavors) and they put toppings. It is a little on the pricey (as expected from the gourmet ice cream store) at $6.50 per cup, but the unlimited toppings they have (various fruits, cookies, etc) makes it worth it. It is also a pretty decent size, so it is enough to share. I decided on the Oreo flavor ice cream and various toppings (mango, strawberry, Oreo, graham crackers, condensed milk, and strawberry wafers). The cool thing is you can watch them make your ice cream right in front of you. I thought that the ice cream was amazing. The ice cream itself was so creamy and delicious, the fruits were fresh, and the cookies were crunchy. It was a great post dinner dessert. Although I did like the ice cream, I thought that the line was chaotic. The pick up area overlapped with the cash register area. So, a lot of us were confused on which line was which. This would normally be OK when it is not crazy busy, but on the night that I went, it was just chaotic. Also, the toppings are placed on when you pick up the ice cream, so there was more of a chaos in the pick up area. (It also did not help that some people did not know what toppings to place, so the lines kept creeping longer). There definitely needs to be a little more organization especially as I envision this place bring more crowded as the weather heats up. When I first heard of this spot I had to check it out. Yes, it is located near my favorite Sanrio Surprises but no that is not the reason why I wanted to go here ;). I wanted to try this spot because they specialize in rolled ice cream. It's neat new concept that is popular in Asia but has just recently made it here to the US. The way it works is liquid ice cream is poured onto a cold metal pan and is instantly gets frozen there. I had a lot of fun watching my rolled ice cream get made. The guys working here do a great job. Its neat to see how they flatten out the ice cream, add the toppings and slowly scrape into the ice cream rolls. Once your ice cream rolls are put into a cup, they'll add on as many toppings as you want! I got the Peanut Butter Jealous and topped it with mangos, graham crackers and oreos. It was one delightful and huge ice cream dessert. I liked it a lot and found it to be a pretty good deal especially since they gave me 20% off (special promo for their grand opening in January). After all this time, I haven't even tried rolled ice cream since I never wanted to make the trip out to Rowland/Hacienda Heights to try it. I love how you're able to put as many topping as you want (as long as it fits in the cup). I topped mine with fresh strawberries, bananas, condensed milk, and a couple chocolate wafers. I'm not really sure what to say. It's nothing magical since it's just ice cream that's served in a roll. I can also see why people go crazy over this since you're able to see them make it right in front of you. Fun dessert - totally IG and date worthy! They have a lot of fun flavors, we tried a Thai Tea and Strawberry with Graham Cracker. They make each order individually right in front of the line - behind a glass of course. There are unlimited toppings including but not limited to individually roasted marshmallows, sliced almonds, fresh fruit, cookies, cereals, and boba. Only $6.50 an order - they usually accept credit cards with a $15 minimum, however on the day I visited their credit card machine was out of order. Be sure to bring cash just in case. read more

Finally, an ice cream store in the Pacific Square plaza. And this one is surely very unique! Once you place your order, they will start making it for you. An amazing part is, you can actually see your order being prepared behind the glass barrier. When it is completed, they will call your number for you to pick it up at the pick-up counter which is located near the entrance. Before picking it up, you can also request them to put some toppings (unlimited) on your ice cream as long as there are enough space on top of your ice cream. The price seems a bit on the high side, but one order has enough to be shared by two so it may not be too expensive after-all. There are also regular scoops of ice creams available for those who prefers a standard one. Your wait time after placing your order can be long as they need some time to prepare your order and it may also depend on the number of orders placed in front of yours; however, the time which they take to diligently creating your order and the availability of unlimited topping(s) will surely make you smile when you receive your order. Eric & Rivian were very friendly! It was a little bit of a wait with making ice creams from scratch (there were 3 of us so maybe 15 minutes). I recommend the Lost in Thailand, Captain Crunch, and Coffee Paradise. Each rolled ice cream comes with unlimited toppings. Very generous amounts of toppings! Well, I was so super excited to try this place out, but it didn't meet my expectations. Maybe if I return and find a suitable flavor, I would increase the rating. This Ice Cream place is located just past Tokyo Central in the Pacific Square Plaza. I walked right by it and found it on the way back. Plenty of parking is available. Since this place hasn't been open very long, they are still giving 20% off for the Grand Opening. When my hubby & I walked in, we were the next to order and get our ice cream. I ordered the Mango Go. I watched the guy turn the liquid mix into ice cream rolls. It was cool! Then, you get to add unlimited toppings for free, which is great. I would've had more added, but the fruit was just spilling off the top. Hubby said it tasted like a Cappuccino and I said it tasted like a Vietnamese Coffee. If you plan on returning frequently (or not), they do have a stamp card. After 10 stamps, you get a free ice cream. Also, if you leave a 5 Star Yelp Review, you get a free scoop of ice cream. I cannot be bribed... they have to earn my 5 stars. After having rolled ice cream at another spot, this didn't even hold a candle to the other place. Literally what Gardena needed was a rolling ice cream spot!! Now we have one!! This place is located in Pacific Square plaza on the side where Tokyo Central is at. A little hard to find. Found this place on Yelp and was surprised to see it was only a mile away from home! When we got there we ordered the Thai tea and the green tea rolling ice. It was fun to see it being made in front of us! They were having a 20% off deal which was nice. I didn't know how big the ice cream was but it can definitely be shared between two people. The price is a little high without the discount but the portions are fair. They also give you free toppings which I believe was unlimited(?) not too sure. Loved the ice cream although it was a bit too sweet. Can't wait to try their other flavors! read more

This place is located in Pacific Square plaza near Shiseido and Unique Eyebrow Threading. They serve rolled ice cream here which is a pretty new, cool concept. They're currently doing a promotion of 20% off for their grand opening until Jan. 31st which comes out to $5.67 for one ice cream. Portions are pretty big so I shared with my husband. You can watch them make your ice cream. It takes some time but they basically turn a liquid mix into a super thin sheet and then roll it into smaller pieces. They have some unique flavors and a wide variety of toppings to choose from. I got the Cap'N Crunch flavor with a pirouline stick. It tasted pretty good but the ice cream texture was a little too hard for my liking. It was difficult to break apart pieces with a spoon. What's nice is that it doesn't melt fast but I still prefer ice cream that's a little on the creamier side. It's worth trying once but I don't think I would come back.
