My boyfriend was craving churros and I wanted to try a new spot. We usually get them from Redondo Beach pier but I find them too oily. This place has the best reviews around for churros so we gave it a try. Sunday afternoon and it was empty. Only one lady in front of us. Only one person tending both the cashier and kitchen. Took about 30min to get our churros and funnel cake. I can't imagine when it's more packed, hopefully there's more people working. The gunner cake was a 9/10, I usually don't finish them because they are too oily. This one was perfect, but they put on too much strawberry sauce, the funnel cake was too wet with it. I'll ask for less next time. The churros were 10/10, much better than the ones we get elsewhere I also got a café de olla and that one was very yummy but a little too sugary for my liking. We originally had the churros from the cart they had on Vermont, after that we were hooked. The other times we have gone to the storefront cuz the cart is no longer on Vermont when we have checked. The churros are worth the drive! They are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, in my opinion the best when it comes to churros, they make them to order so they are hot and delicious! I love me some churros but never really get to eat them much back home. Decided to come to this place since we were in the area and boy let me tell you I was surprised that they were open late. There was a small line so I knew this place had to be good. We ordered 5 Churros ($7) and a funnel cake ($12) The churros didn't take to long to come out. They are freshly made right in front of you which was nice. For our churros we went with chocolate syrup for our toppings. For an extra ($2) you can add fruits on your funnel cake so we went with that. We watched the worker load our funnel cake with fruits and other toppings. They really take this time making it. The whip cream made eating the funnel cake so enjoyable. The fruits were also a nice touch with the chocolate syrup covering them. As were we're entering "Tony's on the Pier" at the Redondo Beach Pier for dinner when my broworker, Chris, commented that there was a churro place on the pier that we should visit after dinner. As luck would have it, by the time we finished dinner the churro shop was closed. So after yelp, we went to see if we could find a churro place that was open late and that's when we found this shop. It only had 50 reviews but I had five stars, it was open until 10 o'clock. It took us half an hour to get there, and then we had to stand in the freezing wind and rain, but boy, was it worth the wait! Went to this place because it had good reviews and the photos looked really good. Upon entering I was made to feel like I didn't belong. The gentleman didn't even give us a proper greeting, just rude stares. I brushed it off because my bf really wanted churros. The customer service never got any better. They sell them in sets of 5, 10, 20... 100. Really cheap too! When we were there, there was plenty of parking. They're open at night right now 4-10pm.
