This is a solid restaurant. It has tasty food with generous portions. I recommend trying their three red sauce enchiladas. It's hard for me to rate the quality of their service since you pay up front at the counter and they bring the food to you. It's not the type of place that refills your drinks for you. That being said, the place is super clean and the food comes out fast and piping hot. I've been here several times and will continue to come here when I crave Mexican food. read more

This place kept popping up at the top whenever I searched for Mexican food, so we finally gave it a try--and I'm so glad we did! Service was super friendly and surprisingly fast. We ordered the carne asada wet burrito and the pastor wet burrito, and both were absolutely delicious. Everything tasted really fresh, and the flavors were on point. Definitely coming back for more. Orders are taken at the counter and they serve the food to you at your table. Decor is western style with cowboy boots and such on the walls. Service is pleasant and efficient. One of the best Mexican restaurants I've tried! Stopped by after passing by this location multiple times! They have parking in the rear with about 10-15 parking spots available! Came here to have lunch. There are a few tables here to sit down and eat. It is very crowded during lunch. We had to share a table with another couple. The Guacamole was fresh and it was real avocadaos. Nothing was added to it as a filler. The guacamole had some tomatoes and onions inside. The Birria tacos had a small cup of broth, consommé. The tacos were filling and okay. I think it needed more cheese inside the tacos. The meat was tender and the tortilla was soft. I will be back to try a different dish. I was working in the area and asked a local where to go and let me tell you...this place was great! We had the Fajitas and I may say they were some of the best I've had. I can only speak to the delivery service. I was exhausted and staying at a airport hotel for the night and didn't feel like going out. I was craving Mexican and decided to try El Otro Amigo. Food was packaged well. No spills, and the packaging kept everything fairly warm. What I ordered Birra taco - eh it was fine. It was a little of filling. Hard shell taco with shredded beef. If you like hard shells this is a good one. Ricardo's Super Burrito wet with carnitas. It was good filling. Carnitas were ok. Decent I would get the shredded beef next time. This isn't our usual spot for Mexican food, and it's a little out of the way, but we're always looking for new culinary experiences so we recently ordered some takeout. I got a 3 taco combo plate with rice and beans, choosing birria for the meat. I was under the impression that birria tacos always came with a little side cup of consommé to dip into, but in this instance I was wrong. It's a shame because the birria meat was so dry and flavorless that a side of well-seasoned dipping broth might have been the only thing that could have saved those poor, helpless little tacos from my trash can. Admittedly, I did eat one and a half of them after trying to salvage them by drowning them in salsa, but that proved to be a futile endeavor as they were beyond salvation. The rice and beans were average; nothing particularly good or bad about them. The chips and salsa that accompanied the meal were also pretty mid. The salsa was a bit too chunky and mild for my tastes, having no zip, zing or zest of which to speak. My wife very much enjoyed her cheese enchiladas. We also got an order of steak fries to share, and I was pleasantly surprised at how amazing these were. The portion size was quite generous, with bountiful chunks of tender, flavorful carne asada atop a bed of perfectly cooked fries. The steak must have been very well marinated because it practically melted in my mouth. Of course there was also cheese, onions, cilantro and even a big scoop of guacamole, all of which melded together into a savory symphony of pure deliciousness. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool chili cheese fries guy, but these steak fries from El Otro Amigo were a total revelation. Low key spot that has pretty good Mexican food for decent prices. Really good in terms of Torrance Mexican. I always judge a Mexican spot based on their salsas and they passed. Their complimentary salsa served with chips is good and has spice to it. Both the red and green salsas on the wet burrito were tasty. I'd probably get the green if I went back because it was spicer and had more flavor. They gave us a red and green salsa on the side. Green salsa was not good and going bad idk what was up with it. The red salsa was spicy and amazing. Burrito was huge and filling but the meat was mid in terms of quality. Michelada was really good and their tajin rim I think had sugar in it. read more

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Decent fast-casual Mexican eats. We were in the area and were looking for a quick bite to eat, and this place came up highly rated. Parking was easy in the adjacent lot. It's a medium-sized space with fun, festive decor. You order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. I got the shrimp enchiladas combo plate and the hubby got the cheese enchiladas combo plate and a horchata. I just wanted water and had to buy a bottle--no free water, which we thought was a little odd. It was pretty busy on the night we went so a lot of the tables were taken--we luckily found a free small table. When the food came out we were surprised to see how red their enchilada sauce was--like, crayon red. It tasted fine, though, and I liked the char on my shrimps. The hubby enjoyed his enchiladas and horchata as well. Not the best we've ever had, but perfectly serviceable and hit the spot. Service was fine also. This wouldn't be a destination for us, but if we ever find ourselves in the area again and hankering for Mexican food, we wouldn't be averse to return. read more

Mexican food, the regular, recognizable kind. The kind that you think you can get anywhere, except here it's extra good! Love Ricardo's Super Burrito. Great ratio of meat to beans and rice. It's a wet burrito, which I usually loathe, but I'll eat one of these in a single sitting. Bravo for the Quesadilla de Birria, nice and tender, super juicy meat. Even a plain crunchy taco is surprisingly good. The shredded beef tastes like it's been slowly stewed. I wouldn't get the Shrimp Ceviche again. It's a generous portion with plenty of avocado and pretty fresh shrimp, but there are a lot of things that are better here. I would also skip the Flan. The Torta Cubana, on the other is probably the best thing they make. It's a fantastic stack of milanesa, ham, and chopped bits of pastor. Cannot say how much I LOVE this thing. Also, Steak Fries. I hate loaded fries and nachos - they never impress me, I even hate Mr. Fries Man, but these are actually great! Grill-kissed steak and enough toppings to touch almost every fry. Dig in! This is now my favorite Mexican food restaurant. My parents came in on a Tuesday around 5 pm, and there was a wait, but they do a ton of take out orders. The food and service were top-tier! My burrito had so much meat in it, which was a shocker because it was under $12. My parents loved their food as well, so happy yelp guided us to this place. I'd like to try so many items on their menu, which is pretty vast and all reasonably priced for LA. You order at the counter and get your own drinks but they come by and check on you regularly, and they made sure we were satisfied customers. Can't wait to come back. read more

Cozy hidden gem! Loved that it's away from the busy street of Sepulveda, we didn't have to wait long for our order, the customer service was great! Complimentary chips and salsa - the totopos were my favorite. I got a wet chile relleno burrito with pastor (I've never had one before) the down side was there was very little pastor and with the meat being overcooked or maybe it was leftover. Tacos plate came with rice and beans on the side. Rice was soft. That wet burrito was a monster. Cut it open and you will see heaven. If you never been, you just got yourself a round trip by cutting into that wet burrito. Inside reminds me of a typical Mexicali spot. They have TVs with sporting events. They serve liquor here too. I can see it being a nice spot to stop by for some drinks and catch a game. Super nice employees. They were quick, took our orders, brought out food and other requested condiments with a smile.
