We stumbled upon this spot while visiting the Enclave and decided to give it a try. We ordered the carne asada fries, carne asada quesadilla, and chips & salsa. My friends and I shared all three items, and we enjoyed every single one! The fries were perfectly crispy and loaded with plenty of meat and toppings. The carne asada quesadilla was super cheesy and generously filled with flavorful meat. The chips were crunchy, and the salsa tasted fresh and delicious. You can order either at a kiosk or directly with an employee, which is convenient. Our food came out quickly and tasted amazing. I love Mexican food and I go to Enclave weekly for lunch. Always saw this place and was curious and finally ordered Carne Asada Nachos. Visually it was ok... But taste wise... it lacked a lot... Carne asada was chewy where I had to spit it out many times... and greasy... it taseted like greasy dried meat... I was pretty disappointed over all... Okay tacos and a bit pricey. Papis Tacos is located in the Enclave plaza. It's in a small single story building that shares space with other food stalls. This place caught my eye since I love tacos. You order through a tablet in front of the counter. I pressed print receipt but not sure where it printed or if it even printed the receipt. I got their 3 tacos combo with rice and beans ($16.95). I got 2 asadas and 1 al pastor. I like that they placed the tacos and rice and beans in a nice plastic tray, rather than place rice and beans in a separate foam bowl. The tacos were okay. I like that the they use two sheets of tortilla. Something felt off, maybe the texture or taste, which I thought the tacos were just okay. The beans were more towards watery soup-side. Kind of disappointed in their horchata... It's too sweet for my liking and it has a powdery/floury texture to it :( I've never experienced that kind of texture in horchata before. It also wasn't filled up all the way, but at least it doesn't have ice in it. I would not recommend. I wonder how their food is though. read more

Located inside the Enclave food court in Harbor Gateway/Torrance. I ordered the 3-Taco Plate + pineapple agua fresca, total damage came out to $30. I chose: *2 crunchy quesa-birria with consomé *1 grilled shrimp taco with pineapple pico & chipotle mayo The plate also came with rice, beans, and red & green salsas. The birria was crispy, crunchy, and the beef + consomé were well-seasoned. The salsas added a flavorful punch. The shrimp taco was legit too -- plump, tender shrimp, cooked well, and the pineapple pico + chipotle mayo combo was a nice tropical smoky balance. That said... it's still a food court spot, and $30 for 3 tacos + sides is a tough sell. Flavor delivered, value did not. Bottom line: Solid execution on flavor. New at the Enclave in Torrance! Papi's Tacos is located in the interior food court area of the Enclave next to Faka's and across from Boba Break. Decided to order their namesake tacos to go. Chose vegetarian (mushroom), carne asada, and al pastor ones. The mushrooms tacos were meh and flavors didn't quite hit like my favorite vegan tacos in Long Beach and OC. Hubby liked the al pastor and carne asada tacos but was not wowed by them. Customer service was courteous and polite. Parking at the Enclave at midweek nonpeak hours was easy. There are plenty of open spaces as well as way back in the structure. I got an open space nearby. They are only a few months or so in biz so I would return and try other items on the menu. On my first visit, they were sold out...sad face. My second visit was successful. I ordered the taco plate. I chose to get a veggie, carne asada and birria. All three were absolutely delicious! That birria consommé was tasty, and yes, I finished that off as well. My third visit happened because a friend suggested I try the loaded nachos. Yes, go and try the loaded nachos. Today we had Sunday brunch at the Enclave and I tried out Papi's Tacos. They have a variety of Mexican dishes here. We ordered a taco combo plate with three tacos, rice and beans, a chicken quesadilla, and chips and guacamole. The food was fresh and tasty. They give you a pager and it beeps when your food is ready. The staff are friendly. As with most of the food venues here, the problem is limited seating given there's over 6 different places to eat and many large families eat here. There's ample parking behind the venue. But whenever I come to The Enclave, this spot is always my number one choice. The customer service is excellent, and the food is simply outstanding. I've been to Papi's Tacos twice. The first time, I ordered the birria tacos, tacos de pollo, and a horchata. Everything was good--not bad at all--which made me want to come back and give it another try. I also really enjoyed the ambience. I like that there are other restaurants and businesses nearby, offering more food and dessert options. The second time, we ordered food to go. I got two Papi's Way carne asada burritos and more birria tacos. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy the carne asada burritos--the meat was too fatty for my taste. However, the birria tacos were still good and consistent. I also tried the Jamaica drink with strawberry, which was really good and refreshing. Overall, the service was great, the atmosphere is nice, and while not everything was a hit for me, the birria tacos and drinks are definitely worth getting. read more

So, this place is really good. The prices are a little steep. The dining area is very nice because it's in the enclave in Torrance. But I ordered the burrito bowl and I paid extra for more Asada. So when I got my burrito bowl, the size was great. It was topped with pico de gallo and lettuce and cheese and guacamole. The ingredients were tasty and I was overall pleased with the presentation, but upon eating my burrito bowl, I chewed and bit into probably more than six pieces of non-edible gristle. A couple of them were huge pieces of fat gristle. So for $28, I was not impressed at all with the quality of the meat that they serve served. Will not be eating here again. read more
