    Food stall

So I had their little egg pastries at the Japanese Festival in Costa Mesa. They have a food stall and there was a very long line. I waited for almost 45 mins to get these baby Castella nuggets. It was pretty good. Not too sweet and very spongy. But I felt it need to cook just a little more. They have 5 flavors but I got the custard one. It's made fresh so that was nice. I got it for $10 for 15 PCs not sure if that was the festival price or normally this is how much they charge. But give it a try it's quite yummy.

Holy. Shit. This…read moreplace is so worth the experience and is so unique to me. Everything tasted amazing, high quality, and unique. The interior design was great. The sake pairing was fantastic. My boyfriend chose this place to celebrate our monthaversary and they made us feel special by giving us dessert to celebrate that. We got the Wagyu Omakase ($90) along with the Sake pairing ($30/each) Servers keep an eye (not in a creepy way) to make sure your order comes as smoothly and appropriately timed. The customer service was fantastic. Coming back again. And again. And again.

Rinka explained each course, made recommendations, chatted and got to know our group and was very personable. Food was amazing as well. Enjoyed all the different cuts of wagyu beef. What was great is that each guest can custom their own experience or go with either of the 3 omakase style menu. In our party of 6, we were not all subject to picking just one experience for all- you can select one that is preferential to you. We did have our child with us who enjoys these things and being able to choose a lighter experience for the younger guests was truly nice. You can order ala carte as well and still enjoy the experience. Some of us chose the Butcher's omakase while others chose the more premium one with sake pairings. My favorite from the cuts were the tongue and the short rib! We were definitely full after the meal! Definitely worth coming back for!

We're already big fans of Aunty Maile's, so we were excited to support this business and drive from South OC here. We love that they expanded the menu to include plate lunches and all the familiar goodies from Aunty Maile's. We came at 3 pm, and it was crowded. There was a band playing - 4 uncles playing familiar, great music and harmonizing so beautifully. An aunty got up to do a beautiful hula dance. It's almost as if we're back on the islands at a family luau. For the first round, we ordered 2 large pizzas (one for to-go), and 4 plate lunches for the 6 of us. A couple new dishes for us here are spicy miso tofu and char siu chicken. For the tofu, I substituted rice and Mac salad for a garden salad. Oh, my goodness! Their salad dressing is amazing! It has a hint of sweetness and tartness and then bam!..the fresh garlic! Yum! Tofu was good, too! Hubby had the char siu chicken with all rice and no Mac salad. It came with a side of hot mustard. Truly onolicious! Only ask for next time is extra hot mustard. For dessert round, we got a dozen malasadas - 6 "simple kine" and 6 "filled," and a shave ice. Everything was great - food, service, and atmosphere. Oh, I forgot to mention that they hosted a pet adoption outside. So, on top of that, they're people with great hearts.

It's sweet but not overly too sweet. Their lava wings hit with flavor and pizzas do the trick (ask for thinner crust). Also if you don't know their sista spot Auntie Mailes is BOMB as well.
