Glad this place is opened 24/7. Ordered via Ubereats to deliver to the hotel. Delivery was smooth. Took longer than expected. Mango smoothie was good not overly sweet. Would've been great with fresh mangoes chunky sliced in it. Like the bingsu's. Donuts were good, haven't tried the ham and cheese croissants yet. (Not pictured)

It was a dozen a minute ago family love them

Suuuuper friendly service. Felt like you were visiting an old friend. The glazed cronuts here are so freakin good. The bear claw was pretty yummy. The blueberry cake was pretty good but not as moist as it could've been.

This Local shop has been in the neighborhood for years, the staff has always been friendly, the seniors gather here and talk stories and chat a bit, cash is preferred, they accept the card for a 50¢ surcharge. The food is always eye appealing & delightful hot sandwiches are deliciously prepared although on the thin side, they are a large sandwich which makes you fill full, great neighborhood donut shop.

A quick stop to resolve a rare and bizarre donut craving. I've been to a few places within the same complex: 99c store, the revolving sushi bar, even the ramen place across the way and NEVER did I notice this place. With COVID19 cautions, it wasn't surprising the place was empty. I wasn't even sure what I wanted, but my palate just wanted that doughy sugary flavor. Went for a dozen donut holes, a standard plain donut and one topped with chocolate and custard filling. $3+change later, I was out the door. It hit the spot, for sure. FOOD: 5. SERVICE: 3. Very little contact given the current pandemic. VALUE: 5. I haven't bought donuts in awhile and I thought this was reasonable. PARKING: Private lot shared with other businesses. Not an issue. OVERALL: 4.25. They are compliant with the pandemic orders: ceiling to floor plastic covering, staff wearing gloves and masks, very minimal contact. They make sandwiches as well as drinks. Might drop by to check those out sometime.

During my freebies birthday run yesterday, I was planning on going to Old Ferry Donut after picking up a boba next door, only to find the shop closed. \(`0´)/ Known for unique flavors & vibrant retro-pop 70s branding (cute hamster mascot with bold orange & brilliant blue colors; it's featured on 2-/4-donut boxes), this Korean-inspired premium donut shop originated in Seoul a decade ago before expanding to several S. CA locations, opening in Torrance a couple of years ago. OFD's donuts are popular for its rich creams & chewy dough; Butter Pistachio & Crème Brûlée are just 2 of their signature flavors. I was going through a donut phase when I initially stopped by Old Ferry Donut. Large windows let lots of light in, & once you step across the threshold, you're hit with a strong K-pop vibe & loud music. They even had a collab with SEVENTEEN last fall during their tour with 2 flavors: Marble Strawberry & Blue Coconut! Unlike the regular mom & pop's or commercialized donut shops, they don't offer a discounted 1/2 or full dozen box. After asking what's their most popular picks, I chose Butter Pistachio & Crème Brûlée, & added Lemon Poppyseed & Raspberry Ring for myself, Cookies & Cream & Boston Cream for the kiddos. Service was alright... I didn't need a sales pitch, but would like some info on the donuts to make an informed decision since they're at a premium price even though they're not "freshly made" (every hour or less) like SD&C just down the street. The Butter Pistachio is a major hit... fluffy & light, a slightly chewy yeasty donut stuffed with a mildly sweet whipped pistachio cream filling & topped with a salty-sweet buttery streusel... how can you not be addicted? And totally worth it! Crème Brûlée is also popular for its delicate, crackly caramelized sugar crust & airy brioche dough that's filled with a rich vanilla custard. Good flavor, but maybe on the older side? Since it's been sitting for awhile, it lost that fresh fluffy texture & was kinda dry. I really liked the Lemon Poppyseed; it's right up there with Butter Pistachio. The lemon glaze is just the right amount of sweet & tart, & the donut was fresh & fluffy! The Raspberry Ring is pretty good, matching that sweet & tart of Lemon Poppyseed, but I like the citrus zing of the latter more. What's different is the former has a raspberry jam filling in addition to a glaze & the latter is just a yeast donut with fruity glaze. Kids didn't say much about Cookies & Cream & Boston Cream... I figure you can't go wrong with these flavors. The filling might have been a bit much as I saw the cream oozing out of the donut & onto my LO's face & shirt. His sister was slightly better at containing the custard blob. LOL With premium prices, It's debatable if Old Ferry's donuts are worth it... quality, freshness, & size. Hmmm... I like them & their creative flavors, but they're a tad too sweet & not as "fresh" in comparison to SD&C. Sad to see Old Ferry Donut permanently gone from the South Bay, but they still have locations in San Gabriel & Buena Park if you're willing to take a drive. Recommended: Boston Cream $3.95 Butter Pistachio $4.95 Cookies & Cream $3.95 Crème Brûlée $4.95 Lemon Poppyseed $3.95 Raspberry Ring $3.95

Fresh, they eat more like a pastry--super moist, rich without being heavy, and none of that dry crumble. Chocolate (Valrhona) is the one--deep, smooth, perfectly tender. The vegan strawberry matcha is a sleeper hit--the strawberry glaze smells like a field of ripe berries and actually makes you pause before the first bite, with the matcha keeping it grounded. They only had two raised that day, but both delivered. Vanilla was soft and airy, and the huckleberry had that bright tart-sweet glaze with zero fake flavor. Only note: don't over-order. Next day = noticeably more crumbly. Go, pick a few, eat them fresh. Clean plate club.

The donuts are always fresh, soft, and made exactly the way you hope a neighborhood donut shop would make them. I'd honestly put them up there with some of the best donuts in the area. My personal favorite is the glazed twist. There's something about how light and airy it is that makes it stand out from everywhere else. It has that perfect texture where it almost melts in your mouth with every bite, without ever feeling too heavy or overpowering. Pair it with a fresh coffee in the morning and it's hard to beat. I've noticed some people complaining about the credit card processing fee, but personally, I think supporting small businesses means understanding the realities of running one. Places like this aren't giant chains with massive corporate margins, they're LOCAL spots that have been serving the community for years and doing it well. If a small processing fee helps them continue making great food, and staying afloat in an increasingly expensive market, that feels like a fair trade-off to me. I'd much rather support a family-run shop like this than see places with real character disappear. If you don't like the fee, you can simply pay with cash next time.

Soft, warm, slightly sweet, and impossible to stop eating. We ordered the BBQ Mix Plate, Lava Bowl, and some Spam Musubi. The BBQ mix plate definitely hit the standard of a solid Hawaiian BBQ meal, but the real MVP there was the teriyaki sauce. That sauce carried hard in the best way possible. The spam musubi was also really good, but what made it stand out was the presentation. They cut it nicely and served it with cucumber and ginger on the side which made it feel way more elevated than the average musubi stop. Now the REAL star of the night was the Lava Bowl. That dish was incredible. The sauce was packed with flavor and the noodles were cooked perfectly. Every bite made me want another one immediately. The ambiance was awesome too. They had a really cool fish tank that added to the whole vibe and made the space feel lively and welcoming. And somehow we STILL weren't done eating. Before leaving we loaded up on desserts to-go because the bakery section looked way too good to pass up. We grabbed a pineapple cheesecake, paradise cheesecake, guava slice cake, lilikoi cookies, and an apple coffee cake. Haven't tried them yet, but after everything else we ate tonight, my expectations are sky high. Definitely a spot worth checking out if you're in Torrance and craving Hawaiian comfort food.
