We made reservations and celebrated my birthday at natuRe waikiki and it turned out to be one of the most unique dining experiences I have had. We both ordered the tasting menus. For anyone who has never done a tasting menu it is a multi course experience where the chef sends out a series of small dishes designed to showcase different flavors textures and techniques. Each course was brought out and thoughtfully introduced and explained which made the whole meal feel interactive and immersive and helped us appreciate what we were eating more. I chose the plant based Aina menu and my husband had the Hale. As a vegan I am always a little cautious with tasting menus but this one completely exceeded my expectations. Every dish was beautiful and thoughtfully put together and nothing felt like an afterthought. The depth of flavor across the entire meal and the way everything melted together was exquisite. The meal started with Panipuri and Corn Fritto and honestly they took me straight to flavor town. It was fun and bold and a great way to start the evening. The Veggie Tartare was the star of all the courses and my absolute favorite. It deserves a gold star. Served in a glass it was fresh and vibrant and packed with flavor. The Veggie Tartare was the star of all the courses and my absolute favorite. It deserves a gold star. Served in a glass it was fresh and vibrant and packed with flavor. and the onion itself was edible and tender and full of flavor which made it feel both creative and comforting. The Charcoal Battered Heart of Palm added wonderful texture and depth (this was my second favorite dish of the evening, it was so very delicious!) and the Mushroom en Croute was savory and elegant and deeply satisfying. Dessert was the Purple Sweet Potato Mont Blanc and it was the perfect ending and light and delicate and not overly sweet. For my birthday they surprised me with a complimentary passion orange guava sorbet that was a nice closer. It is not offered on the regular menu and is reserved for birthdays, which made the moment feel extra special. We sat at the counter and loved watching the kitchen work. The pacing of the courses felt relaxed and intentional and the service was warm and attentive without being intrusive. The whole evening felt calm and special and exactly what I hoped for in birthday celebration. If you are looking for a tasting experience in waikiki that feels artistic and memorable natuRe waikiki is absolutely worth visiting. It made my birthday feel special and we know we will visit here again. SYOY! Deb B

natuRe waikiki is truly a hidden gem. And like all treasures, is worth finding! Seriously, every single time I come to natuRe, I am just blown away by their service and their food. Yes, you do need to park at the Hyatt Centric across the street or get dropped off, but it's totally worth a little parking inconvenience to dine at this lovely restaurant. It's a super intimate and romantic spot you won't want to miss! I recently visited with one of my girlfriends for a late Valentine's day dinner and it was another spectacular dinner. We both had the Regular Tasting Menu (Hale) and of course we had to get all of the add on's! This meant our courses looked like: A trio of a venison tart, shrimp toast, and an add on of fresh oyster ($7) Caviar & turnip (which is now it's own course for only $25!) Sea foam Abalone risotto Mushroom ravioli Fish en croute Kiawe filet mignon with an add on of European black truffles ($35) And for dessert we had: purple sweet potato mont blanc (MUST have), marscapone ananas etoile, and the sorbet of the day. When I tell you, you can taste the love and care in their food- it's true. They also use local ingredients which is another plus. The starter trio was delicious and the perfect start to the dinner. Their new add on course of caviar and turnip was different, but super tasty and I found out I really like turnips! The seafoam was delicious, but my absolute favorite is the abalone risotto. It comes with bread and this delicious butter- you HAVE to dip the bread with the butter into the abalone sauce. Oh and did I mention they smoke it? It's just so delicious. The mushroom ravioli was also a newer addition to their menu, but was fantastic and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The fish en croute was SO GOOD. Almost like a beef wellington, but with fish! And of course their filet mignon with truffles- you just can't beat it. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. All of their desserts were super tasty and really light- but if you have to choose one, make sure you get their purple sweet potato mont blanc- it's so tasty and not overly sweet (which I love!). Also, a tip is to definitely sit at the chef's counter so you can watch them do their magic. Coming to natuRe waikiki is truly an unforgettable experience. Their service is top notch, and their food is spectacular. What more can you ask for? I can't wait to return here again soon!

Service was amazing!!! Can't say enough great things about Loqui... he was the best bartender who made us feel so relaxed and welcomed. I'm pregnant and he made me an incredible mocktail and then brought us out a dessert, because we were celebrating our baby moon. Really appreciate this kind of service

Came here to celebrate my wife's birthday. Such a cute spot with really great food. The beef at the end and the prosciutto& papaya were definitely the standout dishes. Service was amazing from start to finish. Only thing I wish is that our server had mentioned the tasting menu already came with the papaya and prosciutto, so we wouldn't have ordered it as an appetizer. That's my only small complaint everything else was excellent!

Absolutely stunning and dreamy!!! The attention to detail is incredible. The chefs creativity is showing in every bite. The waitstaff is professional, personable and very knowledgeable of the menu. We did the tasting menu and wine tasting to be able to sit at the bar! Awesome experience. Don't come here and be cheap about it. Be ready to sit for a couple of hours and be fed and watch these amazing chefs and cooks work! The ambiance is spectacular!! A dream, clean and decorated wonderfully. Don't miss out on the experience, get the caviar , get the foie gras and don't skimp or the wine tasting!

Abalone risotto with homemade sourdough bread and butter. The most unique, incredible dish I've tasted in a very long time.

What an exquisite meal! Far exceeded my expectations with a very resourceful locally sourced farm to table approach. The kiawi smoked abalone (marinated in sake) risotto was mind-blowing. Where usually the abalone liver would be thrown away, they repurpose in the delightful sauce along with kale to give it the vibrant green color. Highly recommend! One of the best multi course tasting dining experiences on island by far.

As is to be expected, this review is several years old but better late than never? My husband brought me here for our anniversary and it was quite a fancy unexpected surprise. I liked the interior it was really pretty we kinda agree it was modern-rustic? It's dimly lit but not so much so that you can't take nice photos which is important. Service was awesome, she was very friendly, attentive, and easy to chat with. We tried the 6-Course Tasting Menu- Regular and the Plant-Based Vegan so we could try as much as possible. The presentations were top-notch- so, so picturesque. We started with cocktails which were balanced and not too strong for me which is a major criteria I consider. All of the dishes were tasty, thoughtfully presented, and quite satisfying so much so we were full by the time the meal was over. We aren't vegans at all so it says a lot that we thought both menus were yummy! Standouts were the Mushroom Terrine, Sweet Corn Frito and Poi Panipuri, Abalone and Risotto, Beef & Parsnip, and the Sorbet. We also had an appetizer I can't find mentioned and I don't remember what the heck it was other than it was one of our favorites and we wish we had more. Mental note to self- do reviews sooner, woman! Definitely worth giving this place a go! You won't be sorry.

Going to preface this with -- 3/5 for the plant based (AINA) tasting menu, 4/5 for my husband's omnivore (Hale) experience. We have this silly tradition of 1 fancy/nice/tasting menu meal while on vacation and after some research (aka me looking for a vegetarian tasting menu option), we opted for natuRe waikiki. It was exciting to see an existing menu rather than one that would have to be created on the fly and I was really looking forward to the bites. First off, I will say that the ambiance, service, and experience were all great. The space is inviting, calm, and cozy. The staff were all incredibly kind and explained the dishes well. I did note that the pacing was muuuuch faster than I'm used to for a tasting menu; we were done with the meal in record time though did not feel overly rushed. We did not opt to the wine pairing and tried two drinks -- I had the bird of paradise (gin, lilikoi) and my husband had the n/a lychee collins lemonade. Both were good and mine was definitely strong. Foodwise, my husband loved all of his courses and felt that they were flavorful and well-rounded. As for me, I liked the pani puri and corn fritto, the celery root courses best and the charcoal battered heart of palm was good, but not great. The veggie tartare, french onion soup gratin and the mushroom en croute...were just fine. I added the truffles (addnl 35 dollars) to the mushroom en croute and the serving was generous but didn't really help elevate the dish. The french onion soup was a hollowed out onion with soup and it was honestly, bland. They recommended eating the soup then enjoying the onion which still had the skin on btw. The soup was bland and the onion needed to be seasoned more than whatever had been done; like I would have even taken a dash of salt. I understand it was plant based (so completely vegan rather than vegetarian), but there was no richness, no umami, no depth to the dish at all. The veggie tartare was fine, but I've had more flavorful veggie ceviche in the past. The mushroom en croute was super difficult to cut and the mushroom inside was fine, but hadn't really been utilized well in terms of cooking and also developing more of an umami taste. Portions were on the smaller side and I opted to eat dessert elsewhere afterwards (was able to get a full dessert plate at another spot if that tells you about portion size). You can get parking validated (park at the Hyatt Centric/Nordstrom Rack) for 4 hours which is a nice touch. All in all, I don't think I would return here as a vegetarian customer because the taste did not match the price. If you are an omnivore, this might be worth it for you.

natuRe was hands down one of the highlights of our entire trip. We sat at the bar and were blown away by the attention to detail in everything -- the atmosphere, the hospitality, and especially the cocktail program. Every drink was unique, perfectly crafted, and honestly some of the best cocktails we've ever had anywhere. Huge thank you to Lohi for making the experience unforgettable with outstanding service and great energy. THANK YOU LOHI!! If you're on the island, this place is a must.

Another absolutely amazing dinner! We have been here several times and we are never disappointed in the food. The service or the ambience it's always five stars. This holiday menu was exceptional and the wine pairings were absolutely fabulous. If you really want to try the best restaurant in Waikiki I would make reservations at this place.

Went here for a birthday Food was amazing! Tastes and flavors were immaculate. We got the steak and the pesto pasta. Portions on the smaller side but overall 10/10 Service was also amazing! The team were very attentive, nice and even gave us a birthday sorbet. Restaurant was so pretty - the vibes were a mix of indoors and outdoors. Very Naturey indeed. Overall 10/10

Came here with 5 of my girls for my bachelorette and we had an amazing time! My party had a mix of omnivores and pescatarians and this place was perfect for all of us. My favorite part was that for most of the dishes they tried to create a similar dish for those who were pescatarian which made everyone feel included! I totally didn't expect that but it was such a nice surprise since usually the alternative menus are always so different. They even surprised us with a free congratulatory dessert which was so kind of them and also so delicious! All of the food was great but I think it's safe to say that everyone's favorite dish was the fish cooked similar to beef Wellington. It was just so tender and had the perfect balance of flavors! My only reason for taking off a star was that the courses came out pretty slowly. Not sure if that was strategy to make us feel full but we felt like we weren't able to fully appreciate the last courses because we were so full from sitting around waiting for so long.

We stumbled upon NatuRe Waikīkī while looking for a place to dine on a Saturday night, and we're so glad we did! My husband was able to get us a last-minute reservation on the patio, which offers both à la carte and tasting menu options. The restaurant actually has three distinct dining areas: * Chef's counter - faces the kitchen and offers only the tasting menu ($110 for vegetarian, $130 for the standard). * Bar area - à la carte menu only. * Patio/outdoor area - where you can choose between à la carte or tasting menu. The restaurant is located on the second floor, above an Asian restaurant. You enter through a small sign and head up the stairs -- it's a bit hidden, but once inside, it feels like a serene urban oasis. We were greeted promptly by the maître d', who was kind enough to offer indoor seating in case the wind was too strong. It was breezy that evening, but it calmed down, and we were glad we stayed outdoors -- the ambiance was romantic and relaxed, perfect for a date night. Our server was friendly and attentive, and another staff member came by to describe each dish beautifully. Since we're light eaters, we ordered three appetizers and one entrée, which turned out to be just the right amount. Our waitress thoughtfully suggested we could add a pasta later if we still had room -- a helpful tip since the portions were satisfying. We especially enjoyed the charcoal palm hearts, which were unique and flavorful, and the corn fritters, which were delicious and perfectly crisp. The pâté wasn't quite my favorite, but the local market fish (hamachi) was fresh, well-prepared, and full of delicate flavors. Overall, we had a lovely dining experience -- the food was creative, the service warm, and the setting romantic. We'll definitely be back to try the tasting menu next time!

To my surprise, on a Sunday evening after having dinner nearby at Maze, my wife and I walked over to Bar Leather Apron and we were able to get seated right away! In fact, around 7:30 p.m. when we stopped by, there was actually a ton of seating available in the bar. Who would've guessed. If you're in the same boat as me and are unable to find a reservation for your upcoming visit, I would encourage you to stop by and try a walk-in. The first page of the menu lists a wide variety of whiskey based cocktails. Most -- if not all, of the cocktails are pre-fixed with BLA (Bar Leather Apron), and represent a collaboration with the named distillery. I ultimately ordered their "Take Warning" -- 2021 BLA Knob Creek BLA Single Barrel, Cynar, Carpano Antica, Mezcal, Bergamot Salt. Drinks here are not cheap -- averaging $20 to $25 per drink. Although my drink was very spirit forward, it still felt very well balanced. I appreciated the hint of smokiness from the mezcal that rounded out the end of a sip. Service here quick and friendly. When we received the check, a cute small chocolate snack was brought over as well, borrowed from the menu at Maze. Overall, I can see why Bar Leather Apron has earned so many accolades in its field. Definitely worth a stop by if you enjoy the art of mixology.

My food took over 20 minutes to arrive only after I made eye contact with my server and he rushed to the back to grab my food, I'm guessing he had forgotten about it because my short rib arrived cold. Like literally cold to the touch. The mashed potatoes were warm and those were great as well as the veggies . I didn't complain because nobody ever came back to check us on or offer a refill or anything . To pay was a hassle also as they only had 1 server helping and he was tied up with a big table for over 20 minutes that was arguing how to split up a bill. I eventually flagged down a bartender and she went and grabbed my original server from the back. The whole night things kept going wrong . I did have a mai tai earlier in the day from their happy hour which was great but dinner is a no-go for me here now.

I went here for my birthday and didn't realize I should've made a reservation for a larger group,…read moreespecially since it was my first time. Thankfully, Michael and his team were able to accommodate us, which I really appreciated. From the moment we walked in, the place had a great vibe, the interior is beautiful. Throughout the night, the staff and Michael (the owner) were incredibly welcoming, funny and attentive. The cocktails were amazing. I had the expressing my love all night and even though the place was busy and there was a bit of a wait for food, it was honestly worth it. We had the crab dynamite, the ahi brioche, and the prosciutto and burrata. SO GOOD! My friends and I had such a great time and will definitely be back.

I've been waiting for this cocktail spot to iron out its flaws and become as good as it should be…read more Sadly, I don't think it will happen. That's a shame because it has the potential to be very good. When you start with a cocktail concept that is deliberately kept low key with no signage, and a drink menu that rotates and evolves, you have a pretty good floor to start. Having a cozy place to settle in and being able to enjoy food from Chris Kajioka should give 430 Pkwy a high ceiling. If you like an espresso martini try something a little different. Their Espressing My Love batches espresso with Averna, black walnut bitters, and a unique monkeypod syrup. Unfortunately, there is no espresso machine so you cannot get fresh drawn espresso to make a Carajillo the way Cafe Miro use to. The ahi brioche is a carry over from all Chris Kajioka places. The grilled cheese is excellent. Hotdogs are kicked up - it used to be a black truffled miso chicken sausage but the current one is a little different. The problem is the food preparation totally undermines the whole place. Without a separate kitchen you have frying being done just a few feet away from where cocktails are made. If you sit on the right side of the bar you will quickly understand why this doesn't work. I would come here more frequently if i didn't have to smell like cooking oil afterwards. Fix that problem and this place would rock.

The interior was also well designed but I wish our group was sat in a different area of the bar. We got sat in this one corner and it was dark with like translucent lights, kinda like Jinx's lair from Arcane. Idk just wished we sat somewhere else with more light and visibility of the bar. The drinks were pretty good. It's a large menu and honestly I wanted to try multiple drinks but can't be getting all drunk and stuff you know the vibes. Also I know it's unrelated to this establishment but it's next to a billiards hall and that was legendary. Great vibe, great place, highly recommend.

Firstly, the vibes are IMMACULATE. 20/10…read more Wild Orange is a speakeasy hidden behind an old-school Aloha Maid vending machine. Apparently you're normally supposed to put a coin in to open the secret door, but it's broken right now, so the whole vending machine just swings right open. Slightly less secret, but still very cool. Inside is where this place really shines. Moody lighting, a giant orange tree in the middle of the room, Japanese hip hop playing in the background (I want to steal this entire playlist), and extremely cool and friendly servers and bartenders. I've been to a few other attempted "speakeasies" in Honolulu, but most are basically just dark bars with a fun door or code word. Wild Orange actually has the VIBES to make the whole concept work. Definitely worth coming just to hang out and chill. They have a full bar and an extensive specialty cocktail menu. Tried the Purple Dragon, made with ube liqueur and coconut cream. Very sweet--a little TOO sweet for my taste--but tasty and pretty. Probably should have listened to the menu and kept it as a shot, but I wanted something I could sip on for a while and chill. The Umeshu Highball was also very pretty and tasty. My friend who works as a sake distributor was impressed with their selection of good sake, so of course we had to order a bottle. Our server brought it out in an ice bucket, kept it off to the side, and completely served it for us throughout. Very classy. The food menu is fun and creative, but unfortunately not really for me because it's entirely vegan. Most times, but ESPECIALLY when I'm drinking, I want MEAT. Tried the Wild Musubi, a vegan Spam musubi. I'm not actually sure what the "meat" was. Possibly fried tofu? Whatever it was, it was definitely a passable alternative, but would have been 100x better if it were just plain old Spam. It also falls victim to what I find is a common problem with vegan attempts at Japanese food: anything teriyaki ends up being way too treacly sweet without actual meat or seafood to ground it in reality. Also tried the Char Siu Tofu Bao, fried tofu in a red Chinese-style char siu sauce on fluffy white buns. Again, fun and certainly not bad, but these would be 1000x better with actual pork. If Wild Orange had this exact same creative food menu but carnivore edition, this place would probably be 7/5 stars for me. That being said, I know being vegan will actually be a huge draw for some people, and I appreciate that the food is creative rather than just the usual sad vegan afterthoughts. Parking is pretty easy by Honolulu standards. It's inside Hawaiian Brian's, so there's a large shared parking lot. That being said, you might still have trouble finding a spot during peak gym hours since you're competing with all the 24 Hour Fitness customers. All in all, I LOVE this place. Definitely a fun stop--first, middle, only, or nightcap--on a chill night out. Will absolutely be adding Wild Orange into the rotation of places to bring out-of-town guests when I want to impress them with something cool and different. The vegan menu probably means it'll be a couple-times-a-year place for me rather than a regular haunt. But for drinks, service, atmosphere, and pure VIBES? 20/10.

What we thought was a pawn shop turned out to be... a speakeasy?!…read more What a lovely surprise. A gem of a find! I will never forget this experience. I was just skipping around town exploring wanting to check-in to as many places as I could like the responsible Yelp elite that I am and then I find this amazing hole on the wall speakeasy. The lovely gentleman in the front welcomed us in to take a look around and I asked him if I could take photos for yelp and he told me that if I was going to write a review, I had to join them. So of course, I took the invite and decided to stay for a little while. We sat at a nice area. A perfect little place. I just want to take a snapshot and keep it in my memory so I can emulate it and turn it into my home study. I could stay here forever. The vibes were on point. The server recommended drinks that he thought we would like, and we loved both of them. I don't remember what the drinks were called, but mine had a blueberry taste to it, and my friend had a mock tail, but some sort of Yuzu to it. We also shared a $15 charcuterie graze. 10 out of 10 would recommend being curious and opening doors to finding out that there's a speakeasy randomly in an area you never thought would be there. What an amazing experience.

What surprised me most was how good the food was for the price. Usually spots with this kind of atmosphere rely on the drinks to carry the experience, but every dish actually delivered. The chicken karaage was crispy and packed with flavor, the beef takoyaki disappeared almost instantly, and the taro chips with mascarpone were such a unique combination. Between the cocktails, food, service, and atmosphere, everything just worked.
