I've been eating at this location for a few years now and since summer of 2019 was when I saw a noticeable decrease in overall food quality. It's really disappointing because the food used to be so good. Now it is very hit or miss. Some of my biggest issues have involved receiving cold food, stale bread, and burger/chicken patties that are too small for the bun they're on. The last few times I've ordered Nashville hot sandwich have each had such a small pieces of chicken and the rest was all bun. It's simply just not worth the cost to get food served like this. I wish they would consider upping the portion size of the protein so it fills out the bun like it used to be. While I haven't abandoned all hope with this location, I will try it again in a few months to see if the food has improved. read more

I'm in a love-hate relationship with their seasonally changed menu, if only they keep all of my favorite ones and get rid of dishes I'm less keen to, lol. For example, my beloved Mad Cowboy bowl is gone :-( I settled for the Rockin' Moroccan Bowl since I like Quinoa, but compare to my absolutely favorite Quinoa "Fried Rice" dish at PF Chang's, Native Foods' version is a little too "wet". If they could toast the quinoa, it'll be much better. I also should've asked them to take out the currants - can't stand dried fruit in my food... The yam pieces didn't help either... Perhaps I should stay away from ethnic style dishes if I don't want to to taste like half-desserts?! BF's Italian Meatball Sub looked fantastic! I got to taste some (he thought it was too messy to "handhold" it so he deconstructed the sandwich and gave me pieces of the bread and meatball to try. Note to self: always, always get fries as a side. The steamed kale was so so bland. I couldn't help but be reminded of the sauteed kale at City 'O City, how much better it was (ironically that was the only thing I liked at City 'O City... I digress) For dessert, we opted for the Sticky Toffee Date Cake. Native Foods' desserts always have the ability to surprise. You won't expect the dry-looking toffee cake to taste any good but it turned out delicious, not overly sweet, very fragrant. At first, I was like, where is the "stickiness" of it? Then I realized I'd forgotten the toffee sauce on the side in a little container. When I slathered the sauce on the cake, it felt like gravy (I know, kind of gross with chunks that looked like grease, definitely not very spreadable), but my impression was once again, wrong. Hey, I'm actually glad to be proven wrong! I will always enjoy the casual, bright dining room, even the high tables! The openess and natural light from plenty windows make for great food pictures. It's nice to have more Vegan options, and Native Foods certainly fits the bill. We shared the buffalo wings, which were very good. Crispy outside, soft inside, with buffalo and ranch sauces. Don't expect City O City wings, they are much different, but still good. My wife had the taco salad, which she enjoyed. Everything looked fresh and crisp. The spicy dressing that came with it was amazing. I had the Meatball sub, which I was disappointed with. I thought it would have more sauce, but it turned out really dry. As a result I could only really taste the bread. We don't really care for the layout. It's more fast food style with servers that deliver your food. Just akward. Why not pick up your own food, or have waiters. At one point no tables looked available. Just don't really get that. All in all bravo for another Vegan restaurant, great food, though I can't recommend the meatball sub. read more

I am seeking out vegan restaurants so that I can get a bite out from time to time and break up the monotony of eating at home all the time while on my diet. Found Native Foods Café on yelp and it looked like a great option. I really like the fast-casual concept and the fact that I can order take-out if the mood strikes me. You can order at the counter or online, then they hand you a cup and a number, you fill up your drink at the juice bar, then take a seat and they bring the food out. I ordered water, but since it was my first visit they offered me a little sample cup to try the juices and teas - what a nice touch! The girls behind the counter were super friendly and helpful. I tried the watermelon fresca (yum!) and the strawberry lavender lemonade (also very good, but probably too much sugar for my diet). I ordered the Thai "Meatballs" which are made with seitan tossed in a sweet thai chili sauce. It comes with Super Slaw (cabbage, kale, chia seeds), lemongrass broccoli (to die for, ate all of that up first), and quinoa. The bowl was huge. Even though I had skipped breakfast and was absolutely starving, I only ate about half. And every single thing in that bowl was delicious. I will be back. I fully support conscious eating and plant based foods. I love that this restaurant is bringing awareness to that, but the entire purpose of seeking the "plant based idea" is to be healthier. Instead of having meat, NF serves up highly processed meats made from soy and other fillers that aren't even made in house. No gluten free option for any of the sandwiches seems crazy for a health concept restaurant. Food tastes cheap, pre made, and not options are so limited. One of the most tasty places to eat... I walked in not knowing that everything here was vegan. I thought perhaps they had vegan options, but when the employee told me that EVERYTHING was vegan, I was pleasantly shocked! You really got what you were paying for in quality. I brought a non vegan with me, and he enjoyed his meal as well. They change up the menu to keep it fresh, and the atmosphere is decent. The food runs a much higher rating than the café atmosphere they have for me, and although I wouldn't say the atmosphere is bad, it's a casual dining environment and it would be nicer to take their food on a picnic somewhere or grab take out instead. After being on a flight from London for the pervious 10-hours we were delighted to find this vegan restaurant next to our hotel in Cherry Creek. We had been to a Native Food years ago and remembered liking it and this time was the same. The line was short when we walked in at 6 pm on a Friday night and the food came out right away. We started with the Thai cauliflower poppers - they were hot, cooked perfectly, and tasted delicious. Then I had the Nashville sandwich with mac and cheese. The sandwich was awesome!!!!! I was super excited to try this place and I am disappointed to see that I was pretty underwhelmed with the food. Five stars for the service and five stars for their amazingly tasty drinks! The bulgolgi bowl initially tasted great, but the more I ate it, all I could taste was the peanut sauce that the drenched it in. The Baja tacos had good flavor, but needed something more. They were a little dry. The cauliflower wings were not as crispy as they could've been and those were also drenched in sauce. I used to be a regular here, not any more. A lot of my business came in the form third party delivery. With out notice they started skimming the sides from their dishes for third party deliveries, you still pay full price for the sandwich except you won't be getting your fries or any side that usually comes with the dish in an obvious effort to compensate for the third party delivery percentage they have to pay. Most places eat that cost in trade for the added exposure and business, not native foods though, they expect you to pay that cost for them in the form of your side choices that are supposed to be included in the price of the dish, That's just a shady business practice. Not to mention while a lot of vegan restaurants in town make their own tofu and editan in shop, native foods purchases overly processed cheaply made mass production substitutes. We spoke with Amanda, and she said for us to get our order in before 10 and they can accommodate us. Most restaurants close their kitchen 30 minutes earlier than their actual "close" time. Not here. They got our order in a few minutes to close. Shaun took our order and was patient and helpful as we weren't that familiar with their new menu. He even brought us water while we waited! How thoughtful! Amanda brought us our food within abour 10 minutes from the time we ordered. This place is wonderful! More restaurants should be like them! This is one other places we like to get a quick vegan meal when in Denver. They keep coming up with new dishes. We like them well enough get their cookbook and hope someday they will open one in Cheyenne. This day I had their Bistro Steak sandwich made with Seiten with a side of siracha coleslaw, and tortilla soup. All were delicious. The place is a little bit expensive compared to fast food, but the quality is worth it. I've not yet had a bad meal here in or at any other location in the 5 years I've been eating at them. One year we came here for their annual Thanksgiving dinner buffett and it was wonderful. Close to our hotel and already highly reviewed by other yelpers, I coerced my parents (both meat eaters) to come here with me (a veggie who had only had a salad the night before due to no options).
