The staff weren't especially welcoming, but honestly, that was okay. We were there for cupcakes, not a red carpet rollout. The inside was nice and exactly what you'd expect from a cupcakery/ice cream shop. We tried a variety of mini cupcakes along with two regular-sized ones. The icing was definitely the highlight - good, but nothing extraordinary. The real letdown was the cake itself, which was dry across the board. The minis were especially dry, which made the overall experience less enjoyable. On top of that, the flavors just didn't stand out. Nothing really wowed us or left a lasting impression. They had sample cups to try flavors so you don't commit to something you don't like. I went later in the day so several of the mini cupcakes were out. I was super excited to try these good looking cupcakes and was sadly disappointed. Don't get me wrong, they all looked amazing so 10/10 on that BUT the flavor of the sponge itself was not there. I really wanted it to be there and kept taking more bites but never got it. They crumbled super easily and fell apart after the first bite. I got 5 cupcakes bc I couldn't decide on a flavor and they were maple pecan, French toast, funfetti, almond poppi with lavender frosting and wedding cake. To me, they lacked flavor and in a weird way, they all kinda tasted the same. They are on the pricier side as well-about $20 for 5 cupcakes. Had a hankering for a chocolate shake and found milk and cake right off of I 25 and Hampden. All I ordered was a simple chocolate shake and boy is it delicious! They have a huge variety to choose from from your standard milkshake to what they call cake and shake. I believe shakes with bits of homemade cake in them. I was looking down the list and there are certainly some options I would like to try and I will be back. The young lady behind the counter that made my shake was very delightful and friendly. I have been buying cakes and cupcakes here for years. I ordered a cake online with plenty of notice (they require 48hrs) and NOWHERE online does it say you have to call with payment 48hrs ahead or they will cancel. They sent me an email yesterday saying they had everything setup for my order and to give them a call with payment. I called this morning and they said it wasn't in the 48hrs and cancelled my order already. I've heard of other bad experiences here from friends but now I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN. Store was very clean and well kept upon entry. Staff member was extremely friendly, professional, and accommodating. The cake was good, nice consistency & flavor-with flavor variations in the cake as well as the frosting. Noting this bc some places only change the frosting but keep the same cake. The frosting was also yummy, true buttercream and they don't skimp. As you can from the pics they are also attractively decorated. They have minis in lots of flavors, ready to buy. Usually the first thing I do when eating a cupcake is wipe all the frosting off, because most cupcakes have way too much frosting and it's almost never even good. However, I wanted a moist tasty cupcake and I didn't get it, I was sure hoping for more! I had heard such good things, but this place fell short for me. We needed a sweet fix while staying in the area, and based on the positive reviews, decided to give Milk & Cake a try and we were glad that we did! My boyfriend selected four mini cupcakes and was pleasantly surprised with all of the options that he selected, and he was even more shocked to find that he liked the salted caramel most of all of the quartet. My weakness is fro-yo and I also opted for a salted caramel flavor, then topped with cookie dough. I highly recommend this bakery. My best friend is gluten free so I did a lot of research to find the best place to get a cake made for her 30th birthday. I called to place the order and the staff were super kind, friendly and accommodating. I went to pick up my cake later in the week to find it to be so festive and beautiful and they even made a 30 out of sugar for the top! That was a nice touch! They followed what I wanted so well. The cake was moist and tasty, the frosting a bit too sugary and with the added sprinkles but overall we were super happy with the cake and had some great photos with it! We really appreciated all the creative flavors and most of them were very good! The Pina colada was the crowd favorite. The strawberry and cream was the only outlier; it tasted weirdly artificial which surprised us considering the quality of flavor of the other cupcakes. I also noticed their cupcakes weren't consistently sized; two of our six seemed like the cupcake tin had been underfilled before baking and we're about half the size of the others.
