The Makery Cake Company was recommended to us by a friend, and after comparing them with several other bakeries, we loved that they didn't have a minimum order requirement. We only needed a single-tier cake for about 24 people, and they were a perfect fit for what we were looking for! We drove up for a tasting, and while there were a few moments that felt a little disorganized, the cake itself was absolutely incredible. Every flavor we tried was some of the best cake we've ever had! We ultimately chose the pink champagne cake with raspberry Bavarian cream filling, and it ended up being my favorite thing I ate at our wedding! We sent over some inspiration photos for the design, and they completely brought our vision to life. The finished cake looked like it could have been straight out of a wedding magazine! They also went above and beyond by allowing us to pick up our cake on a Sunday, even though they are normally closed that day, which we really appreciated. There was some miscommunication within their team about our pickup date that gave me a bit of a heart attack leading up to the wedding, but thankfully we were able to get everything corrected and the cake was ready for us exactly when we needed it. In the end, the cake was beautiful, delicious, and exactly what we wanted for our wedding! read more

As their sign says..."The Makery Amazing Cakes" & I couldn't agree more! I needed a special custom birthday cake & after looking around I emailed The Makery with my request. They were prompt to answer my questions & phone calls & to explain the process...great customer service. I would recommend ordering at least two weeks before hand. Note, they are closed Sundays & Mondays & open from Noon - 6PM Tuesdays-Thursdays & 10AM - 6PM Fridays & Saturdays. When I went to pick up my cake it was ready as promised. The customer area of the bakery was small but cute. The employee who waited on me was friendly & helpful, she even carried the cake out to my car for me. The cake was made exactly as requested, it looked beautiful. The handwriting was perfect & I know that it isn't easy to do. Not only was it pretty but it was absolutely delicious. The cake was moist and the chocolate frosting was decadent. But even more even more importantly the birthday boy was surprised & happy! read more

Ordered a Winnie the Pooh cake for a baby shower. The decorations were so bad we bought flowers to hide them. The cake was not well baked and was mushy. The frosting was so thick and blaw I couldn't eat it. Some of the decorations were so hard (not soft as ordered) you couldn't cut through them and had to take them off before serving. Lastly a cake at King Soopers would have been much better and cheaper. I paid $365.00 for this disgusting mess. read more

This place really isn't a day-to-day bakery that you can stop in and grab a few sweet treats. It's very much more of a special occasion, bakery for your wedding anniversary or other special occasion. I went to grab some cupcakes for a birthday, and they had nothing out or iced or anything that they list as options for walking products. The cupcakes we did get or forgettable as a tasted like two week, old grocery store, bakery. If anything while we were there, it really felt like they didn't understand why I was there. Moreover they actually offer delivery daily on GrubHub and the things that I saw on the Grubhub menu that day we're not in stock and we're not going to be in stock. Service was ice cold and so were the cupcakes. For a lovely in store experience check out cakeheads down the street you won't be disappointed. read more

I did not order a cake, and they are only a place that makes them to order, but I did end up getting 4 cupcakes for $22.32 ($5.50 each). I apparently should have asked how much they were before buying them, but yikes! for the smaller than normal sized cupcakes, it seemed a bit excessive. I was hoping the price would be justified by the product. To my dismay, they were a bit dry and not all that great. Good thing it was for my birthday and not some else's! So definitely would not recommend them for their cupcakes, but it appears they make some pretty exquisite cakes. Their website says to allow 2 weeks to order one. So it is a place for cake ordering but certainly is not your standard bakery that you can go to and grab a treat. read more

I COULDN'T RECOMMEND THEM MORE! I called at least 10 bakeries nearby asking for a "burn cake" with no success. When I reached out to the Makery they explained that they have never tried to make one, but still didn't hesitate to make my dream come true! Staying in touch, always making sure my vision was perfect! I was nervous at first but when I walked into the bakery and saw all the beautiful display creations on the shelf I knew they were going to do great ! It was ready in time and turned out even better than my reference photos! They are very detail oriented and the taste was amazing! I got the marble cake and even after a couple days in the fridge it was still moist and rich in flavor! If you have a sweet tooth and creative ideas, I highly recommend them! read more

Birthday cake beyond my wildest dreamiest cake. I had an appointment from a referral from a catering company and when I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised seeing some of their amazing cakes (that I thought was not real) then greeted by the lovely staff and creating the cakes from a vision I had to perfection. The cake (3 tier) each flavor cake was tasty and fresh, the order was as easy as could be and the delivery was perfect. I would absolutely order cakes for upcoming events. Appointment 5, contacting customers 5, week of event for confirmation on cake with delivery 5. All the guests enjoyed the cake 5. Lisa M. read more

We are very pleased with the cake and service. It was a last minute order, but they were able to make a great cake.

We loved our cake so much! One of the fiancés is incredibly allergic to tree nuts and finding a nut free bakery is very difficult let alone a delicious one. Everyone loved the cake, and the fact that everyone could enjoy it was amazing. We had the pumpkin spice flavor with cream cheese frosting! The decor was gorgeous on the cake too :) read more

The Makery Cake - Amazing Wedding or Birthday Cake!!! - Bakeries Near Me - Centennial, Colorado

Service was great, online order form is confusing and bad. The cake I got had a raspberry buttercream that only had a hint of raspberry flavor and while the texture was good, it was just so bland for being charged extra as flavored. The cake was weird with dense sponge (chocolate) and dull flavor. We actually did a game with the party around guessing the flavors and not a single person got chocolate and raspberry. Finally, the guest of honor wanted banana so we got banana cream. I had expected something akin to a banana cream pie or at least something made with bananas. This was a standard Chantilly with what tasted like banana flavoring. Maybe we were all wrong, but most guests said it reminded them of banana candies more than fruit. I would give the cake we got 2 stars, I would give the web form 1 star, but the service was really good and we DID order off-trend flavors and didnt really care about the decorations. Maybe that made a big difference, or maybe they just shouldn't have these options available if they aren't doing them well. For the price we paid, we were very disappointed with the flavors and overly dense cake texture. The service was the only thing that felt premium here on this experience. read more

They made the cake for our 9/30 wedding. We just needed a cutting cake for our wedding because our venue provided deserts. We have some food allergy issues in our family and The Makery was great with all of them. They have delicious flavors to choose from and they delivered to the venue. Their wedding package is amazing! They provide a cake for the wedding, one for the honeymoon and a cake a year later for the 1st anniversary! I would highly recommend them!! read more

I had ordered a cake from another bakery two months ago for my son's military commissioning reception. The baker unfortunately left the cake outside for a few seconds and the squirrels decimated it. I was devasted and didn't know what to do with less than 24 hours to our event. I called area bakers and no one could help us with such a short time frame. Someone recommended the Makery and I called them right away. Not only was the person I spoke to incredibly caring of our situation but had me speak to the manager Bobby who brainstormed of what they could do for us. Incredibly, they were able to make in various (delicious) flavors 48 cupcakes decorated in military colors in plenty of time before the reception. They truly saved the day, were incredibly kind and helpful AND made some of the best cupcakes we have ever had. Knowing that events like ours are incredibly special one wants to go to the best. I can truly recommend the Makery for incredible customer service and superior cakes/cupcakes. In the future we won't go anywhere else. read more

The Makery created the most darling cake for my daughter's 8th birthday. I had never ordered a cake here before and my experience from start to finish was great! I was extremely lucky to find these guys. I was looking for someone who could make my wedding cake dream come true at a reasonable price on very short notice. Less than two months before my wedding, they told me that they would be able to give me what I wanted. The wedding was fantasy themed, and I fell in love with the idea of having a dragon cake in our wedding colors. Seeing the price of how much they could cost, I found that they were able to deliver a delicious cake with beautiful decoration! They worked with me and delivered exactly what I wanted. I couldn't have been happier with how this cake turned out, and at half the price I had found at similar bakers. The staff was extremely friendly, and worked with me in every aspect of my cake. I would go back to them again. And the best part? A free sweetheart cake for the honey moon and a free anniversary cake! read more

Nicole Johnson at The Makery was so excellent to work with. She had no problems making the unique cake we wanted to fit our style & wedding theme. It came out great and their flavors are delicious. First and foremost, I thought the workers there were really great people to chat with, no complaints there. Unfortunately, their prices just seemed to be too high for my liking. Each mini whoopie pie was around $4 for one. Ditto, I recall, on the cupcakes. I understand they're a craft bakery, and they were upfront with the prices, so there was no chicanery involved. I suppose, at the end of the day, I'm okay with buying cupcakes/cakes and the like at grocery stores. read more

Just to clarify, the cake was supposed to be a pastel pink, but was a neon pink. The photo doesn't do it justice and looks much more subdued than it actually was in person. I appreciate that Megan from the company called and apologized about the disappointment and let me know that there is a $20 coupon for future use. However, that really doesn't signify much, since you get a 10% off when you review the company on Yelp or other venues. If you are not satisfied with their work why would you want to go back for $20? A partial refund would be more satisfactory. read more

My husband and I hired them last year for our wedding and they did an amazing job taking our ideas and turning them into reality with a tasteful Alice in Wonderland themed cake with cupcakes. The reason I am yelping now is because the coolest thing is that it's our year anniversary and they provided us with our one year anniversary cake so that we had the option to not keep wedding cake in the freezer all year, I found this to be a really great feature of their service.
