Great service and tasty cream puff. The space feels clean and organized. Wished there were more drink options to go with the puffs but there is always a ding tea next door. There are many flavors to choose from and everything is amazing. My favorite is the original/vanilla but recently had to pivot to chocolate as they ran out of the original flavor. Interesting they call it original but the sign says vanilla, so it can be confusing for some customers. First, a fun fact-Originated from Japan, and now over 500 stores in 15 countries!! Wow!! For my work, I can bring treats to providers when they refer my organization. I wanted something different from cookies or donuts and thought Beard Papa's was the perfect opportunity for the office to try something new. The 24 minis (original flavor) for $30 was a good compromise and figured it would give each office personnel a little taste of these cream puffs. The filing options are: strawberry, vanilla, green tea, and chocolate. Yum! The associate was nice, it was clean inside and plenty of parking in the shopping complex. We went on a Sunday late afternoon, so perhaps that could have been part of the problem if the cream puffs weren't super fresh. We had never been before, and, while the staff person was very nice, it was also a bit challenging to try to understand how to order, as they weren't very forthcoming. So you choose a cream puff flavor and then a filling. We got the Oreo, churro, and crème brûlée, opting for the vanilla cream as we couldn't figure out what else to get. It took me a few visits here to get my order down, but I love both the chocolate eclair and chocolate filling. I like that they change out shells and fillings occasionally. I took my friend here for his first time today and he enjoyed it! He mentioned that there was more filling than he expected. Got some sweet treats at Beard Papa's for the first time yesterday. As much as I wanted to love the experience, I left feeling super disappointed by the food and service. When my family first walked in, we greeted the employee and she completely ignored us. Didn't say hello back, didn't ask us what we wanted, didn't offer any suggestions or explain how ordering works (you choose a cream puff flavor and then a filling). It was a little mind blowing to see someone that disinterested in their job. So that didn't make a nice first impression of the business. The cream puffs were largely a disappointment. I got two and my husband got two. All of them tasted stale. I had one Oreo and one original. I liked the Oreo topping, but not the chocolate filling. The original was just a bummer all the way around. The puff was hard and flavorless and the green tea filling tasted bland. My husband ordered a churro and a chocolate puff. The churro one didn't even taste like a churro. It didn't have enough cinnamon flavor at all. The chocolate was very mediocre in terms of quality. I found them very runny and messy to eat. The fillings left a lot to be desired since everything was rather flavorless. The only thing that seemed half way decent was my son's chocolate fondant cake. I think this place is very overrated based on my personal experience and I would not return. Save your money and go somewhere else! read more

I went here with some friends and we had a great time! The parking lot is big. It's shared with other surrounding businesses. There was construction in the parking lot right in front of the store. So we had to park a little ways away. The store is on the corner and it's kind of tucked away because you have to go down a flight of stairs when you open the door. If you don't know what you're looking for it is hard to find. Super friendly staff. We were greeted with a friendly hello. They have plenty of seating so I was surprised that there was no one down there. My friends and I stayed and chatted for a little bit. It was nice and quiet with light music in the background. when we got there, there was little options so I do suggest going early :-) I got a strawberry cream puff filled with vanilla. My friend got a churro filled with chocolate, and my other friend got a churro filled with vanilla. I really enjoyed the vanilla filling. It's very sweet and has vanilla bean paste in it. My favorite flavor! My friend described the chocolate filling as a Wendy's chocolate Frosty. After tasting it myself, I agree haha it was not my favorite flavor. We all got an original that comes with the vanilla filling. I personally love the original :-) I really wanted to try the Oreo and the s'mores. Really great service! This was my first time here and I was a bit confused on the menu and the cashier explained the options and even recommended some favorites of her own! I decided on the crème brûlée and plain vanilla with powdered sugar. I have to say that unexpectedly plain vanilla stole my heart. Not a huge cream puff lover to begin with so unfair to give a bad review based on that alone but the cream puffs were stuffed to the max with cream so I couldn't really taste the pastry and it was hard to taste the speciality flavors like crème brûlée and Oreo. Sadly, very disappointing. We were so excited to try Beard Papa's. We went on a Sunday late afternoon. The ambiance was similar to an ice cream shop, which was totally fine. No one was in there and the staff was nice but with it being our first time, we had no idea how it worked and had to dig deep to understand - you choose a cream puff flavor and then a filling. They can do some special things (mash, I think it is called) but couldn't get to the bottom of that one, so we passed it up. The cream puffs were a big disappointment. We shared three (Oreo, churro and, creme brulee). We opted for the vanilla filling as we couldn't figure out what else we could get. All the puffs were hard and stale and none tasted like their namesake. The cream was very perplexing as it was the consistency of melted ice cream that wasn't very sweet. Went to this place on a complete whim after going to Meow Wolf. Actually, I was going to the See's Candy next to Beard Papa's but when I saw the sign for this place I had to check it out. Actually, I audible laughed out loud when I read Beard Papa's and cream puff on the same store front. I had no idea what to expect. After I had already gone and had my cream puff I did look this place up and I guess it has sort of a weird cult following. I think it might have started internationally and then came to the states and eventually Denver. I don't know, I won't let that sway my review though. When you go into this location you walk down some stairs which honestly usually means a pretty good time. When this happens at a store or restaurant I usually feel like I'm going into Wayne's basement and about to have a good time. Instead we got down the stairs and found the whole place pretty quiet and empty. I ordered the honey butter puff and the vanilla filling and took it out to my car to eat. It was...fine. It was a cream puff. Super messy and kind of just shattered and oozed everywhere. I don't know if the mess is part of the fun but I wasn't into the sticky mess. The hubs and I were visiting his parents and sister and thought a good cream puff was in order. I actually am not a huge cream puff fan but these might just make me a convert. The store had one employee and a line of people. She was really nice but I felt bad she was flying solo in that moment. This isn't a grab a pre done puff and off you go. You first pick the flavor you want of the topping on the puff, then the filling you want that is piped in on the spot. So in other words each order is custom. Of the ten we bought, I sampled the green tea with green tea filling (absolutely delish representation of green tea) and the dulce de leche with vanilla filling. Came here on a whim and decided to try it. The worker was nice and quick with our order. We ordered the 6 original cream puffs with vanilla filling and a green tea one with cream filling. I forgot the specific prices for each but it was about $13 total. Personally I think it's a little too soft for me but the bottoms were crispy which I did enjoy. The cream kind of burst out whenever I bit into a mini one but didn't cause a huge mess thankfully. I also think it's a little too sweet for my preference but it's definitely not overpowering sweet! This was my go to snack when ever I visit New York and I am thrilled that so many places are opening in Colorado. I'm very happy that I waited a couple of weeks after it opened to come. We arrived 15 minutes earlier than opening time thanks to traffic not being too crazy and there wasn't a long line. The inside is quite cute and I love beard papa's representation all over the store. The employees are super friendly and quick. The cream puffs are delicious. We got the honey butter, original, strawberry, and Oreo shell with vanilla filling and green tea s'more with green tea filling. It's not as sweet as a donut and can get quite messy with the filling but it's so tasty and enjoyable. Really hoping another location opens out in Aurora in the future but it's worth the drive. I've only had fresh eclairs once before, in Taiwan. Compared to that experience, Beard Papa's puffs are a bit harder, and the pasty creams a bit runnier. The original is hands down the best. I liked the matcha cream too, but pairing with the matcha glazed shell was a little too overpowering (in terms of sweetness). The boba cream filling really has bobas! I finally made my way over to Beard Papas. I don't live super close so it can be a little bit of a trek. But I was in the area so I made sure that I had time to stop in. And I wanted to go on a day where they had the boba filling. There was a bit of a line to get in which was fine. I anticipated a wait. Pro tip: they post their menus on Instagram. So a perk to follow them and know ahead what you want. :) It was also nice because my family was able to text me their order while I was waiting in line. Haha. You can watch them stuff the shells too. After I ordered, I asked how long it would be and they said about 10 minutes. So I ran to Ding Tea to order boba. Once I came back, I waited a few minutes for my order. So another perk it's close to a good boba spot. I was so excited when I got the yellow box. We had many different varieties. I really loved the boba, it wasn't too sweet. I got it with a green tea shell and it was perfect. I also got an OG with green tea inside and it was soooo light and not super sweet either. Overall, I will be back and definitely recommend it. There may be a little wait but it's definitely worth it. I can't wait to try more different flavors! read more

Fairly simple concept- pick your cream puff shell flavor, then match with your choice of a filling. Buy one, a dozen, or however many you'd like. Mix and match- have fun! I was excited for this Japanese sensation to come to Colorado. I went during dinner time and only had to wait a few minutes. Right now they only offer a handful of choices including, chocolate, green tea, s'mores, vanilla and honey butter. Staff is super friendly and will walk you through the process of ordering your desired cream puff. Basically, You chose your cream puff filling flavor and a topping flavor. I was worried the cream puff was going to be overly sweet, since the Japanese's love their sweets; luckily, it was just right balance of sweetness. The pate a choux had a good texture, although the hard topping did make it a little difficult to first bite through. The filling was a perfect amount of fluffy and creamy goodness. What a great day it was to hear that Beard Papa, a staple I had enjoyed in Los Angeles, was coming to Denver! I was incredibly excited to taste these magical puffs once again, so I decided to wait in line on opening day. Getting there about 25 minutes after they opened, I waited about 3.5 hours to get my fill of their cream puffs. Was the wait worth? Definitely not. That's a mistake on my part. As much as I love these treats, if you had asked me to do that day over again, I would have done something else. But, alas, the wait was done, and I was able to order. The day they opened had limited fillings (vanilla, boba, and green tea). I chose my favorite shell (Green Tea) and filled it with the matching green tea cream. Additionally, I tried the Honey Butter with the boba filling (interesting, first time trying both this shell and filling), as well as the Strawberry eclair with vanilla filling (again a new flavor for me with the shell). I got a fourth one, the standby classic, Chocolate eclair with vanilla cream. I wasn't a fan of the strawberry or the boba, per se, but their cream puffs are so delicious, and a bit nostalgic for me, that I know I'll be coming back for more. Beard Papas is hard to pass by when you are driving on the road. Not only is it a nice small treat but it also packs delicious flavor. I went on grand opening day and it was a long grueling experience only to be worth it when I ate my cream puff. I got myself an Oreo cream puff with matcha filling. The filling tasted not too sweet but nice and light. The texture is as you would expect it, richly creamy and delicious. My favorite part about the cream puff is the texture of the white chocolate on top of the puff. I love how it hardens up and crumbles when you bite into it. Not only did I have an explosion of flavor from cream inside but I also loved chewing through what felt like chocolate. I've had the other flavors before as well and I'm sure you're curious about the boba filling. Well the boba filling is subtle and tasty, it is not the giant balls you see in the pictures but they are what feel like tapioca balls inside of tapioca pudding. Small and very soft. I honestly wouldn't have it any other way but maybe someday I will experience what it feels like to eat the larger boba sized tapioca balls inside of the filling. The rest of the menu is not out yet hence it is a 4/5 rating, when the complete menu is out with drinks and all, I will be returning to try them and readjusting my review. read more
