People with allergies beware! I will start by saying I have ordered from this place many times. Today, I ordered through postmates and when the order arrived, I knew this was not a gf bun as I have requested. I called Native Burger to confirm and the answer was oh yeah, that bun is not gf; what do you want me to do? I am busy. Let me explain, when I accidentally eat gluten, I am sick for 2 weeks. What do I want? For them to take food allergies seriously, it is not by choice that I am gluten free. I want them to be honest and call or even send a burger without a bun if they don't have gf. Or even be a bit apologetic over the phone when a customer calls and realizes they could have gotten sick by ordering from them. That would have been enough. He just said call postmates, they will give you your money back. Awful customer service. read more

I come here regularly for the beyond burger. Fresh ingredients always :) The fries aren't my favorite (a little too crunchy and not enough potato for me) but that may be just my taste. The brussels are delicious though. Friendly service to boot! read more

Native Burger - a hamburger with cheese, tomato, and lettuce - Burgers Near Me - San Francisco, California

Tried this place on a whim last week since we were up in the city and kids were craving burgers for dinner. Although it was take out only, they did not skimp on the level of service or the quality of the food. The burgers were good size, the veggies were fresh (even my kids that are usually very picky with veggies LOVED it, they said it's very flavorful), they were not super greasy or soggy. I had the Loco Moco (because I did not realize they offered GF buns...and the portion was HUGE, and the gravy has mushrooms...soooo good! The guy that took our order on the phone was super friendly, as well as when we picked up. He made sure we had everything we needed in the bag (plastic utensils, napkins, ketchup), and even asked if we wanted to have the bottled drinks opened (required bottle opener). read more

I've been here on several occasions and the food has been amazing every single time. Big, juicy, perfectly constructed burgers with both standard and not-so-standard fried sides to choose from, including crispy-creamy French fries, sweet potato fries, fried Brussels sprouts, onion rings, and two kinds of poppers. They have various burgers with fixings on the menu to choose from, or you can customize your own. One time I got a Classic burger with their house sauce (a delicious thousand island) and cheddar, another time I did the Northern with Swiss and sauteed mushrooms, but with chicken breast instead of a beef patty - and they were cooked exactly to order and just as good as everyone says they are! I love a good burger, fries and a soda, and this place really delivers. It's not cheap, but for the quality and size of portions you get, it's totally worth it. I've always sat at the counter, which is fun because you get to watch the food being made, but they also have a table service area. The deco is clean and modern and everyone is super friendly - great vibe! You should definitely give this local eatery a try. read more

Nice neighborhood joint for a juicy burger! It's easy to miss on busy Geary St. The dark signage is hard to spot but it's not too hard to find street parking. Burgers came out fresh, hot, and oozing with flavor. We had the westerner and the northerner. Both were stacked with cheese and toppings on a soft brioche bun to complement the patty. The fried were ok but the brussel sprouts were a favorite. They had slightly sweet and tangy flavor to the crispness of the dish. Definitely coming back here since the price is reasonable and the size gratifying! read more

Food was greasy and amazing. Everything was super clean. Staff was impeccable and so kind. The music and atmosphere were great they played the oldies. I'd include pics but we devoured our food. And they were super generous with the portions 10/10 read more

How about 3.5 Stars? Definitely good burgers, killer onion rings, friendly staff, bare bones dining area. Quick service. So why not 5 stars? No insult intended but who eats this stuff? Fried beef and deep fried sides? My arteries started clogging before I left. Maybe I grew older or my taste buds changed, who knows? Nothing wrong with how they prepared the food, but they lose a full star because of my stomach discomfort for three hours. I truly hope these guys find their clientele and the restaurant is successful, just with somebody else. read more

Sooooo juicy and delicious! And I'm talking about the brussel sprout chips. :). Tastiest ever. The northern burger is also pretty darn good. The parking around this neighborhood is also really great for San Francisco. First time we parked right in front and second time there was lots of good parking down the side streets. High recommended!- read more

I live in the neighborhood so I've been passing by this place many times. I always noticed the amazing smell and I've been wanting to try their burgers for a while. Today I finally went in and ordered the classic burger to go. The place looks good, the staff was super friendly, the burger was ready quite soon. I LOVED it!!!! The patty was medium-rare, which is perfect for me. The bun was tasty, the lettuce and tomato looked and tasted very fresh. What a delicious burger! I want more! I'll give the other ones on the menu a try for sure :) I would have liked to add a picture but I was too hungry and it looked too good, I had to eat it straight away. read more

My brother and I wanted to try new burger joint and came across the highly rated Native Burger on Yelp! At first we balked at the $16-$17 starting price range for a burger. But the beef was from Harris Ranch and again, the ratings were high. So we gave the place a try. My brother ordered the Western and I ordered a Western chicken. For the price, which is much more expensive than many other burger joints, you expect an elevated taste or something to hit you that makes the taste very unique. Neither of us felt our meal was worth the price. Now, thats not to say the burger and chicken weren't tasty, we both thought our meals tasted good. But they weren't anything we hadn't tasted before at a much more reasonable price. I would have been just as satisfied going to one of my regular spots at a much lower price. The twice fried fries were good too but didn't do anything to justify paying that much for a burger. To be very clear, I'm not saying the food here isn't any good, on the contrary, it was good and tasty but its nothing special. Its definitely not special enough to warrant the price. You can get burgers just as good (if not better) for 30-40% less at a number of places in the Sunset/Richmond district. The food gets 4 stars but doesn't justify the price which unfortunately earns a 2 star deduction. I don't think I can bring myself to pay that much for this type of food again. read more

Hidden Gem. This place has hands down the best burgers and fries in the city. I've been to the top 10 list of burgers and haven't found a place better than Native. They twice fry their french fries and they are always fresh. Every burger is great and the portions are generous if a little pricey. They have the standard flavors of burger: Normal, Spicy, Mushroom, BBQ, and one with Egg. The other food options are also all solid. This place's only downside is that the outdoor dining is on geary and that parklet is unpleasant. read more

Good stuff. If you're in the mood to eat fried foods, they've got you covered here. There was the creamed corn popper (this one's rich), brussel sprouts (could use less salt), onion rings (good), sweet potato fries (solid), and the list goes on. It would've been nice if everything was just a tad less oily, but hey, all were fried. I get it. The burgers are solid here - tender patties, fluffy buns. I tried the egg and avocado one (went fancy for a day but probably should've keep it classic). They used a different sauce in this burger, a sweeter one much like a relish, not the usual thousand island one. Things got messy here - meat juices a flowing, avocados falling out of the burger, greasy fingers, the whole works. read more

This is a great place to eat and exactly why I love the food in San Francisco. Small spot with a simply menu that they hit right on the spot. A super small place but with great quality food! The staff is kind and helpful. My brother is a meat eater and I am vegan. He got the Native burger and rated it in his top 5! First garlic fries god I love the garlic fries. Second when you order a burger let it sit for 3 minutes at least. Burgers are like steaks when pulled off the heat they are still cooking. Let them rest brings out such wonderful flavors. That's just a side note to the owners to do let the burger rest. read more

Extraordinarily made burgers. Just simple, high quality ingredients cooked and put together right. My coworkers have been raving about this place for months. Walked in and was greeted warmly by the friendly owner and the cooks. The menu is simple but adequate. Ordered the western burger and sweet potato fries. Every bite was flavorful, juicy and absolutely delicious. I savored each bite so much I even forgot to check my phone the whole time. Western burger - smoky slices of bacon with medium rare grass fed beef. The brioche bun is slightly sweet and toasted with butter. One of the best burgers I have ever eaten. So satisfying without being overwhelming Sweet potato fries - went perfectly with the burger. Dipped this one in mustard. Crispy and perfectly cut sizes The whole experience with the food and service was top notch. I left very fulfilled and happy. read more

So glad this place was reopened after Buzz Burger closed. Buzz Burger's service(or lack there of) was definitely the biggest reason it closed IMO. Native Burger has happy staff, service oriented and good burgers to boot. We had a couple of classic cheese burgers and fries. The bun was perfect and the meat was flavorful with good quality cheese. Fries were good too. We'll be back again and again. read more

These guys are doing a great job during shelter in place. I got the mushroom Swiss burger and my husband got the Western. Both were delicious! The onion rings were crispy. We live a few blocks from here and just came for the first time - it's an amazing burger spot. We had the garlic fries, jalapeño poppers, and the sunrise and western burger and everything was fantastic. The people next to us has the Brussels sprouts and they smelled incredible! They also had 21st Ammendment beer on tap. We're excited to have such a great burger spot in the neighborhood and can't wait to go back. read more

The husband and I ate here for a second time last time night. The decor and seating arrangement is the same as previous owner (which is fine by us!), with shelves to help yourself to condiments and utensils (perfect). I had the Sunrise burger, which was amazing! The patty size matches the bun (who doesn't have this dilemma?) and ingredients were very fresh. The beef had lots of flavor and fresh texture. My husband had the Western, which he loved and couldn't even finish! Be prepared to have a fine (messy) meal on your hands, it's well worth it! read more

Got shut out of a spot around the corner with an out of control brunch line and ended up here. Def one of the top burger spots in the city. Everything was ace. Afternoon snack around town and found this semi new burger joint in Geary street. Wow. Just check out the size of that patty!!! Burgers are around 10 to 12 bucks, but the burger itself is huge. The bun is soft and sweet and unlike other places the patty is nice, thick and goes all the way around the circumference of the bunch. Just had the Sunrise burger this time but will be back for more read more

Want an affordable burger that is delicious and will fill you up? Look no further. Honestly, I was first attracted to this place because of the price. There are places in the city that charge $14 for a simple burger, but this place starts at $8.75. Also, restaurants (I'm looking at you, Marlowe) charge close to $10 for Brussels sprouts and $7 for sweet potato and garlic fries, but it's only half the price here. The food is also good! I got the sunrise burger with the special bacon. Another reviewer mentioned that he didn't like that combo, but I loved it! The egg was perfectly runny, the avocado, tomato, and lettuce were super fresh, and that bacon--my goodness--what a flavor explosion!! The Brussels sprouts were delicious and the fries were crisp. Lastly, everyone that worked there was super friendly and helpful. This is more of a self service place, which I actually like. Just remember to be helpful by putting away all your dishes, throwing away your trash, and clearing your table when you're done. I wish the best for this place. We will be back! read more

My husband and I stopped here for our last meal in the city before leaving. It was really good! We both got the western burger and we were impressed with how big and flavorful it was. My husband got the onion rings and he's picky about how they're done, and he said they were perfect. I got sweet potato fries (which were obviously frozen) but still super good. More importantly the staff was fast and really friendly, which meant a lot as we didn't have the best service experience in San Fran overall. Only docking one star because it was a little more expensive than it should have been in our opinion. read more

A solid burger joint with excellently crispy fries - we've passed by this spot a few times and finally gave it a try last week! We ordered the classic cheeseburger which was mostly notable for the decent sized patty - 7 oz of good quality meat. We got a side of fries and loved how crispy they were; overall I'd say 4 star burger and 5 star fries. Service was friendly but a little spacey - I initially tried to call in my order and was asked if I could be put on hold. I didn't mind waiting, but the cashier ended up leaving the phone face down on the counter and forgot about me altogether. I listened to him take another order and then talk with his coworker about the fight on TV while I went "hello?" a few times lol. Since we wanted to go pickup anyway it was easy enough to order in person. Service hiccups aside this is a real neighborhood joint, so I would recommend visiting if you're in the area and jonesing for a burger and fries! read more

I came here on Sunday afternoon an hour before they closed and this place was pretty crowded! There were only two cooks and it took some time to get the food, but the cooks and the waiter were very apologetic and super kind. The burgers itself were really delicious! My favorite was definitely the Cream Corn Poppers; it was fried yet creamy on the inside. :) The restaurant was cute, just a bit pricey. read more

This place is a bit pricey but when you get your food you'll understand why. The burgers are delicious. The cream corn poppers are a must try. The garlic fries were probably the best garlic fries I've had in SF. My burger alone was $ 10.95 and an additional $ 3.50 for fries. Lunch for 3 of us was just over $55. That's 3 burgers, 3 sides, 1 soda and 1 beer. Like I said, pricey but the food was great. Another good thing, the restroom was clean. Most places I've been to in SF have dirty, disgusting restrooms, but Native Burger was clean. I'll definitely come back! read more
