Lady checking me in was annoyed that I had put my birth year as 2025. That's what their own web site was defaulting to and it wouldn't allow me to change it. I figured they would assume I wasn't a 2 week old baby making an appointment. So we get past that and I hand over insurance cards. She looks them over along with a make associate. After no more than 10 seconds she tells me it's just medical and dental. Her sidekick confirms the findings. She then asks what UFCW is ( union ) is that's on my cards. I tell her who it is and she states " never heard of it" so I tell her who administers the plans and she has matter of fact never heard of them either. Then she asks me if I want to self pay ! I said no that I would pull up my coverage on my phone . While I'm doing that she takes a closer look at my cards and she does see that I have vision coverage. About this time I pull up my coverage and it shows my coverage is active ... she verified it's me then states that I am out of network and if I call VSP ( vision insurance company ) and fill out this form that has 15 questions I must ask and get answers to all of them. Ok so I sit down and call the number on the form. It doesn't appear I'm going to get a live person but am directed to a link they are going to send to my phone. I knew this was going to be a waste of time on my day off so I told someone else I would fill it out and make another appointment. Neither person that I dealt with initially was at the desk at this point and so I left. I did not get names of who I dealt with and if they had name badges I didn't see them . My overall impressions were they weren't very busy when I got there. I might be able to understand what seemed to be frustration on her part if they were busy . She just seemed to be a little bit condescending and very little patience. She should also take note that facial expressions say a lot without saying a word. After leaving I went home and found the info needed to make an appointment with an in network provider. I guess I wasn't too surprised that this location already doesn't appear to have a good rating . read more

There is new young Asian female doctor who messed up my Rx. The numbers in glasses are not correct. Took my glasses to store inside Walmart - they confirmed the Rx is not correct . I remember she was not taking notes when she was testing me and making me read. What a waste of my time and money . Very disappointing... read more

I was not told prior to my appointment that I would need to PERSONALLY call my insurance and request how much my eye exam would cost, if I was eligible for "out of network benefits", etc. i showed up almost an hour early for my appointment and the whole process took over 30 minutes. This did not happen to me a year ago. I will not be coming back. The doctor is excellent, but the front desk needs to be more professional and inform clients of this prior to their appointment. First time at this location and our experience was great. My cousin had an eye exam here and it was a breeze from the start to the end. The office is clean and the front desk ladies were nice. They checked us in right away and my cousin was seen pretty quickly. They have plenty of chairs available in the waiting room and a few magazines for you to look at. The glasses literally came in about three days after the initial appointment! The lady was once again nice when we picked them up, even though they were about to close. Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had. I had an appointment I wait about 30-45 min to be seen after I was done I go to get my glasses somewhere else I wait a week to get my glasses just to find out the doctor got the prescriptions wrong not once but twice. I call them and they tell me they can't do anything after I had already paid to get my glasses, all they can do is get me a new appointment to see a doctor. That is just scary to know the doctor can't get a prescription right and they can't even do anything after I had paid $200 to get my glasses. I truly cannot wait until our insurance changes & we can go elsewhere. When I scheduled the appointment I was told it was at 430pm to to check in 15 min prior for paperwork. Get here at 415 finish the paperwork only to find out my appointment is at 5pm and they ask you check in at 430 for paperwork. First of all it doesn't take 30 min to fill this out & 2nd your receptionist said 430 with a 415 check in! I've tried this location & power and southern and both nightmares. I'm almost better off paying cash for glasses elsewhere. Never again. Do yourself a favor.. stay away. read more

Terrible customer service. This place is a nightmare. Don't risk your time or your money here. After several years of loyal patronage I had a problem with my most recent eye exam. For some reason I started getting headaches and noticed lots of eye fatigue. At first I thought it was allergies but then realized when I started wearing my previous eye prescription that it was the new prescription. Unfortunately, it took me a few months (4-5) to realize what the problem was. So, I called them and asked for another eye exam. Too bad sucka! .. was essentially the answer I got. It had taken me too long and now they wanted to get paid for a new eye exam. That's their policy. The manager chose their policy over providing good customer service. The same lady that has been there for years seems to be the problem. No customer service at all. They always have different doctors. I have never seen the same one. They are never running on time. If only 0 stars was an option. My son is 4, called ahead saying he would need pictures as letters and numbers are a struggle. Get there and the technician seemed nervous and uncomfortable asking my child and being patient. I explained my son has hard time with eye doctors since I'm legally blind and he may have grew to be uncomfortable in these settings since he's been going with me. The eye doctor immediately was annoyed and suggested seeing a peds doctor. We agreed but asked if their peds dept did weekends since transportation is a issue with me being legally blind and unable to drive. He got annoyed and made it sound like this wasn't our priority. Then he had the nerve to ask if my son had adhd or was on medication because he was looking around the room and distracted. I explained again he is 4 & he has some ptsd or eye doctors because of my eye vision issues. Then he asked me what's wrong with my eyes and who is my doctor. If I could go lower than one star I would. Terrible place. Eye exam was so-so. I left my glasses to have new lenses put in my frames. When I picked up my glasses, they were not my frames. I had sturdy good frames and was given flimsy, scratched frames with sticky goop residue on the sides. I asked where my frames were and they said these were the ones I ordered. I said I had never seen these frames before, nor had I even looked at any of their frames because my intent was to use my frames. I told them I just wanted my frames back but they have no idea where they are. I am stuck with crummy frames until I can get some new ones, but never again from Nationwide! They were unconcerned with my frustration and the additional money it will cost me to get better frames and completely denied that I left my frames to have the lenses replaced. I called corporate at 1-877-222-4216 and they said Tracy is over the East Valley and she would call me. We'll see. read more

If you can help it at all, do not go here!! I didn't have a choice due to my insurance but this was the most unprofessional, unorganized eye dr. office I have ever been to. I used to work at an eye dr. office and I've been to quite a few. This has been by far my worst experience! First of all, the wait time is unbelievable. I had a set appt. and I waited over an hour because they kept taking walk-in's ahead of me! I had a follow-up contacts appointment which should have only taken about 5 min. and they had me wait for over half an hour because they couldn't find my chart, then went through an entire exam, which was completely unneccessary! There was another lady there who needed to just exchange a box of contacts and they made her wait about 45 min. before they even took the box from her! Then, I was told I would be charged $60 after insurance for a year's supply of contacts. I called later to order them, and was told it would be $200! They wouldn't budge when I told them I had been told a different amount. When I asked if I could order a cheaper brand, they insisted I make another complete eye exam before they would allow me to switch brands! GRRR! SO frustrating! I will NEVER come back! I would rather pay out of pocket somewhere else than go through this ordeal again! read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! WOW, were to begin on what is wrong with this facility. I have been going to this place for over 7 years and I have never had such horrible customer service until the recent eye doctor took over. The only reason I ranked it a 1 is because it won't let me rank it a zero! I have given them multiple chances because everyone can have a bad day, but strike 3 your out! The new doctor here does not "LISTEN" to his patience and pretty much does what he wants. Also, this place is now nickle and diming customers to death. Maybe if you applied a little effort and kindness toward your customers you wouldn't have to pillage and plunder them and more customers would come your way. There are two ladies here that have worked at this facility since I've started and a word of advice, "Find another employer because you are too good for this place." You have always been friendly and helpful to me, even when trying to fix the other employees screw ups. Like when I ordered contacts and they went on backorder but nobody felt it necessary to make any attempt to contact or inform me of the situation. "I" had to call you guys 8 days later to find out what was going on. Guess what they are still on backorder and have no eta date. I'd hate to ask for another brand to use because they will probably charge me another $50.00 contact fitting even though its not my fault. If this is the closest facility to you or your insurance only takes Nationwide Vision. Go out of your way to avoid this place and find another Nationwide Vision to assist you. I didn't get in to see the doctor until an hour after my scheduled appointment time which was very inconvenient as I had a doctor appointment very soon afterwards. Once I was in the room with the Doctor I explained that I was sick and had to get to another appointment. She then told me I would have to reschedule because I was sick. My experience was actually not terrible. I did wait for a little before I was seen, but I feel that happens at any doctors appointment. The only complaint I have so far is the turnaround time on getting my glasses. My appointment was on Saturday, March 21st. I just called to check on my glasses and the woman who answered said she looked, but didn't see them and that she would have to call the lab. She said she would call me back.
