I have been to the Nation's in Livermore, Pleasanton, and San Ramon. The one is San Ramon is the most scenic with large glass windows in the front, and trees outside lining the parking lot. The one in Pleasanton is a little small, and has been crowded the couple times I have been there. Recently, I had to get my smog checked on my car, and was only a couple blocks from the Nation's in Livermore. So, I walked over there for breakfast. The service was good, and the food was delicious. It is easy to recommend this place. Better yet, just as I got done with breakfast, they called my cell, to let me know my car was done. Some days, it is all good! read more

I came here for breakfast this morning after class and it was nothing like what I remember from dining at Nation's years ago. The food was nothing spectacular.. I ordered the usual breakfast deal consisting of hash browns, eggs, and toast. I would much rather have the same thing at IHOP because it looks a lot less sad on my plate. Yummy fresh burgers made to order. I love a basic cheese burger and this place takes care of that. The staff was fast and friendly. The location seemed to be pretty clean considering it is fast food. It is a must for me to have a Nation's burger each time I am in the bay area. This location didn't dissapoint!!! read more

Leilani wouldn't help me after standing in line with my friend, who's pie thy messed up. After a mess up, after trying to make it right, after standing in line, Leilani said she wouldn't take my order, and started helping the people behind me. I've had good experiences with several Nations locations, but not this time. On 6/19/2014 at 9:45 am (Yes, manager of Nations, you need to read this) I took my daughter there for an early burger. 1. The front door was dirty, smudges all over 2. The glass pie case looked the same, dirty. 3. The cook was working hard. 4. The other worker seemed nice, but not a go-getter. She appeared to be somewhat of a lazy airhead. 5. The burger was sloppy. A huge chunk of lettuce, slapped together, not what I remember. The tables were dirty, both griddles were dirty (Were not scraped after each use, breakfast chunks cooked with burgers, etc) No sense of urgency to clean the tables, the kitchen. And lastly, it took a long time to get my food. Shame on you managers, you need to tighten the ship and get your act together, or else you will go down. read more

it's nations. you know what you're getting in terms of food. it's going to take a while because they always cook to order. service just depends on where you are. the ladies in this place were in no hurry to get anything done and actually argued with each other. side note- while I was waiting, a guy came in and the lady says "hey, are you getting (blah blah blah)?" Guy says "yep" and it was a pretty big and complex order. I gathered he comes in a couple of times a week. Ate here a few times, I came here in the morning, and seems that there was only one person working! She took the orders and cooked! So food took a lil long, and they were out of certain things, pickles, I even over heard they were out of sausage! It's not fine dining, but that's never been the motivation to visit Nation's (or why we keep going back). The food is about in line with a diner, but they're happy to crispy up the fries as I like, the shakes are pretty thick (keeps the little one busy with trying to snack a bit after she's finished dinner), and the place is cozy. read more

I want to like this place more...but I don't. Not very clean, kind of run down. We were there recently for a school friend's birthday. The friend, 10 yrs old, wanted pie. We all ordered a piece of pie. Little did we know that a piece of pie was actually 1/4 of a pie. OMG! That is way too much for the under 8 crowd. I wish the counter person had mentioned that we could choose 1/6 of a pie or 1/4 of a pie. But no. There were lots of leftovers taken home in boxes. The place just seemed tired and past its prime. Burgers better than 5 guys but the fries aren't. Still the frys are no worse than a 99% of fast food. Not the place for a fancy breakfast, but hard to beat for the standard eggs, hash browns, meat, and toast, especially for the price. The have lingusia! Black bear is the only place that is better on this Fresh strawberry tarts in season!!!! Not exactly fast because it is made to order and sometimes the staff is a little distracted. If you are really rushed call in the order when you leave the house. Better than any fast food joint except maybe 5 guys, depends on your priority, burger or frys. i have been eating nations longer than anybody my mom was dottie and i am sure she has built one for a whle lot of people, when she started russ had only one store with 6 stools i believe it was first drive thru with a big parking lot folks would drive by the window and hold up the number of habburger patties they wanted then park come inside and tell the cook how they wanted them fixed. and people came from all over the bay area just to hear my mom and goldie go back and forth with there teasing and what they would say next. if u wantred to write something down well dont ask for a pencil or a piece of paper . if u told the girls one time how u wantrd ur hanburger or cheese burger they knew from ur first time ordering they would remember how u wanted it fixed amazing but tru. over the years if we were on a trip or just out and about we would always run into a nations customer or people would recognize my mom or dad u see my father was a fiddle and guitar player for many years in the bay area with television shows on channel 7 and later on cnannel 2 .my mon and dad was a very social couple couple and mom had thw gift of gab. my dad not so much he would let his fiddle and guitar do his talking , my dad also taught at schelse school of music in richmond when i came along but later went to work for berkeley pump co. well i could go on for ever about my growing up in el sobrante will stop for now thanks Jimmy Fields read more

We eat here a lot on Saturday mornings. It's good, cheap and no one seems to care if you have loud kids in your party. All the breakfasts are good. The pancakes are AWESOME. My favorite place in probably the whole world. I love their grilled cheese. My ideal lunch/dinner is grilled cheese, fries, and a chocolate shake. The burgers are also really good. First of all I LOVE Nations!! I live in Alameda and go to that location most Sundays! However, last Sunday I was coming back from Modesto and stopped in the Livermore location. The food was good, the service was great BUT the inside of the restraunt was uncomfortably hot. My son didn't even touch his meal. I don't like eating in the heat and if you don't either skip the Livermore location!! And the employees... I came in there 20 minutes before closeing at 10pm on a Wensday night ad got a grilled chicken burger to go. The service was quick at the regaster. The food took a little longer but I did not mind because they made my sandwhich nice, fresh and hot on the grill. The employees working there did not looked happy, they looked tried, bored and very sleepy which makes sense, sense it was close to closeing time but still would have like to c a more welcomeing asittude from them. I am so disappointed, one star is generous at this point. As I had said in my previous review that the lady that I spoke to was very rude, it turns out that the lady that I spoke to was actually the manager. My boyfriend went to pick up the food that I ordered about 20 minutes prior to his arrival and when he arrived they hadn't even began cooking our order. He had to wait for about 20 minutes for our order to be cooked and when he told the manager that the food was already ordered, she acted as if she didn't care. Not to mention that when I opened my sandwich, it was poorly thrown together. I couldn't eat it without all of the insides falling out. I am so upset. Very disappointed in this establishment. I call in an order at 7:11 pm this evening and they tell me it will be ready in 10 minutes. So I drove to the store and arrive in about the 10 minutes. I go to the cashier and tell her I called in the order and she says they are still cooking it. So I pay and sit down and she says they will call my name when it is ready. After sitting for about 10 minutes I realize they are serving orders of people that have obviously came in after me and ordered. I figured since I ordered chili cheese fries maybe it's taking a bit longer so I wait an additional 10 minutes. By this time it's 7:41 and I called in 30 minutes ago. There's no reason this order should take this long. So I ask the cashier what's going on. She looks to her cook and the cook points to a bag up in a compartment that I'm guessing is for To go orders that are waiting for someone to pick up. She says " oh it's ready!" At this point I'm fed up that her crew obviously failed and she's trying to cover for it by saying it's ready like I don't realize it's been sitting there. So I ask for a refund. She offers nothing to me to help the inconvenience. A discount, free shake, nothing. I've only gotten worse service once before.. and I never returned to that restaurant. And by the way it was the store manager that was dealing with me. So she had the power to make things right.... very disappointed. Never eating here again read more

Yummmm I love love love the burgers here... My family and I come at least once a month for a treat. Everyone is so friendly and it is always busy (sign that the food is good). I was a little disappointed on our last trip because it was soooooo hot in the restaurant! I feel bad for the employees who have to work in this heat! My husband said we will NOT go back here until they put the AC on! I have been going to Nations for many years, first at the Fremont location. I moved to Livermore 6 years ago and began going to this one. You can't beat their quick breakfasts, easily called in and ready for pick up. I would have given 4 stars but the place is not clean enough most of the time. The condiment area has sauces dripping, and the pie cooler & front door always have fingerprints all over them. I know it must be difficult preventing customers from touching the glass, but when they are dirty when they first open...somebody is not doing their job. read more

I come in all the time for their 1, 2, or 3 egger breakfasts in the mornings. All the staff are lovely and I've always enjoyed the food.

the staff here isn't overly friendly, but they get the job done. anytime my boyfriend and i are starving late at night it is either order a pizza or go to nation's. i love that they are open very late and they have awesome grilled cheese sandwich's. the food is always hot and fresh, even if i have to wait 15 minutes to get my food, it is nice to have it hot.... instead of warmed under a heating lamp at most fast food chains. people love the pies here too. read more

The cashier was friendly. My order was cooked to perfection(sometimes my order doesn't get cooked the way I order at Nation's, but it was right on!). I witnessed the male who was working cleaning almost the whole time until it got busy and he started helping cook. He was working really diligently and it was great to see. There was an older couple that came in, the gentleman could barely walk and his wife ordered. When their order was ready instead of calling their number, the cashier walked the tray right over to their table. This really touched my heart. I was so impressed by the staff today, everyone who was working there was really great! I love Nation's, but was really impressed by this location. read more

the era of Nations as not only serving tasty burger fare but also atmosphere is over for good. I've been a customer since it opened but always came back for the yummy greasy huge burger and crisp fries or tasty sandwiches and pies and the nice people and the clean bathroom and the bussed tables and the condiments Its all gone. Rich is mr no personality and the ladies at the register are efficient but also not friendly and the bussing tables is no where in site. i bussd my own table in view of management . I was glad i had tissue with me when i used the bathroom. burger was still ok but the signature huge onion was now tiny. don't bother with the frozen onion rings- the coating is ok but the onion nonexistent . its not worth the nearly $12 for a large soda, onion rings and cheeseburger. goodbye nations read more

So it has always been hit or miss with the Livermore Nations. Order mess ups all the time. Because of the inconsistency of food quality and service we had quit going to Livermore Nations. Had a Craving so decided to indulge, big mistake!!! How hard is it to take a little pride in ones job. I do not care what one does for a living but take pride in what you do and do it well! Our cheeseburgers had literally a half of a measuring teaspoon of sauce plopped in the middle the bun, not enough to spread so obviously the person making the burger did not! Also what happen to the meat? They made In and Out burger patties look like quarter pounders! So basically our cheese burger had a soggy bun, lettuce, tomato, onion and cheese. Then ordered a chocolate shake, you must order them when you get there or they are chocolate milk when you pick up. I think they forgot the chocolate, the shake was not vanilla but not chocolate either. Now I would have complained but I do not think the people working there give a crap! Wow, what has happened to Nation's? I used to eat at Nation's regularly when I lived in El Cerrito in the '80's, and I remembered it being really good, with big, juicy burgers. My husband picked up a few things for us the other night, and I was so disappointed. The burger was okay, at least it wasn't dry, but it just didn't have the big bold flavor I remember. And it was pretty tiny. His chili burger was a bit better, mainly because the chili added flavor. The BLT was possibly the most pathetic BLT I've ever seen. It had 4 thin, tiny strips of bacon - the cheap kind that shrivels up to about 3 inches long - not even enough for half a sandwich. I opened it up, looked at what was inside, and threw it away.
