I am very disappointed with the cheese burgers and fries I received today. Nation Burgers are my favorite burgers and French fries, I only treat myself to eating out once a month and today I choose my favorite burger! I saved up my money and calories to splurge, after the first few bites of my burger and fries it tasted like freezer burn on both. It was horrible, not fresh at all but even worse was that taste. Really the only reason this place gets four stars is nostalgic reasons. The food is not particularly stand out. Greasy spoon type food. But all significant events in my life, I end up eating here in preparation for the event, or for recovery from the event. Good pre game post game place. It fast, cheap, and opens super early. We were on our way to Livermore wine country and wanted to put some food in our belly first. We stopped in here.We'd been to the one in Vallejo (incidentally, on our way to Sonoma for wine tasting!); and this location is SOO much nicer and cleaner. Not to mention the food here tasted a lot better. I got a bacon cheeseburger, and it was fantastic. Tasted like something you would make at home, only better because you don't have to do any of the work. We split chili cheese fries- it came with melted slices of American cheese instead of shredded cheese. Very good. Hubby ordered the cheesecake; we all got a bite. It tastes like yellow cake batter- but it seemed to work out, it was tasty. Decent, fair prices. Friendly service; quick to come out. read more

Wowee Zowee! Without a doubt, one of the best burgers ever. I had the burger with Ortega Chili on it and it was spectacular. The onions were sweet, the meat was juicy, the cheese was melty, and the veggies were cold and crisp. Big messy sloppy burger that I could barely stuff in my face. What a mess. I wasn't too hungry and didn't order any fries. The iced tea was a tad watery, and the sweetened tea was nothing but water. Plenty of parking. Some day I'll have to try the pie. The only reason I don't give them a five star rating is because the bathroom was positively disgusting. The smell made me cough and gag. You *have* to use the bathroom after eating to wash all the delicious burger and sauce drippings off your hands, and that's just unfortunate. I have been stuck in bed with a cold and my husband decided to cheer me up with a meal from Nation's. He ordered two giant hamburgers, chili cheese fries, and a chocolate shake. The meal was meadeocre at best. I would recommend In and Out for not only the burgers but the chocolate shake. I hope to be back but not for the burgers. read more

For years my elderly father has told me that Nation's has the best hamburgers in Livermore. He wanted one for dinner tonight and he told me I could call and order in advance. I did call and was asked to hold and was promptly hung up on. To prevent further frustration I went to Nation's in person and ordered the food to go. Now I'm an In-N-Out gal and my favorite is the cheeseburger with grilled onions. I decided to give the Nation's cheeseburger a try. The cheeseburger was big, it had a lot of cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, and onions on it. It was messy, the buns were not grilled, it did not have the savory flavor of In-N-Out burgers, but it wasn't bad. The french fries at Nation's were pretty darn good. I lived in Livermore for 7 years and came here a grand total of 2 times. And this was the closet burger joint to where I lived. That should tell you how much I like this place. If it was just the food, I probably would give it 3 stars. But this place is SO SLOOOOOW. I think both times it took like almost 20 minutes to get my food and they didn't look particularly busy. I understand its not fast food, but still it shouldn't take this long. The burgers are not all that to begin with. Add to it the long wait and that equals a rare visit from me. read more

This is the only nations burgers in Livermore. They taste great, I have to agree they are a bit messy but we didn't mind the taste makes up for it.The cashier was an unhappy twenty something year old, who looked like she was having a bad day. I just walked into the place. The cashier was rude for absolutely no reason. She did not have to be so abusive with her explanation.

The cheesecake was above average, but the apple pie was a huge disappointment. Not sweet, and a cardboard-like blandness to the crust. I do like that you can purchase half-pies. That gives you a bit more variety without being a glutton. Twice, they messed up our to-go order on burgers. Not bad tasting, but it is a bit frustrating to get home only to find that you got the wrong thing. Check before you leave! Not horrible, but I haven't rushed to go back, either. read more

To go food, is NOT the way to go At this nations! I've had breakfast here before but ate there, and it was really good. Today I ordered food to go and it was nowhere near the quality of eating there. Got a $10 omelette that look like it should've been a five dollar omelette! The toast was not toast it was bread spread with some butter. The yoke of the egg was broken all over my hashbrowns. Tried banana cream pie from Nation's Giant Hamburgers and it was delicious, they use fresh ingredients for sure. The pie was well balanced, pie crust was just right not very thick not very thin, the custard and bananas filling was just delicious not overly sweet, wiped cream on top was fresh didn't leave any creamy layer/film in the mouth. I was a little dissapointed with the customer service. The energy was a bit low and I could feel the fact that they wanted to be anywhere but behind the counter preparing meals. The food was decent but I have definitly had better. I had a Chicken Sandwich with French Fries. It was a good portion for the size but I was not too impressed with the flavors. They were not to complimentary and the huge chunk of lettuse made it difficult to take big bites which I prefer when eating a sandwich or burger. So tonight I called Nations to order and was put on hold (by a man per the lady his name was Bruce. I think she altered the truth) and I sat there and listened to everyone's conversations and orders. There burgers are great, with delicious fries and onion rings on the side. But the best of all is the pies. All of them are great! I came in here after a 12 hour workday looking for dinner with my family. After ordering I went to get mustard, and the mustard apparently squirts outward and NOT down. I was wearing my brand new LuLaRoe Irma for the first time and it squirted all down the front of it and my jeans totally ruining it. The staff tried to help rinse off the shirt but while trying the girl tells me that it sucks and that she's been squirted before! Are you kidding me!?! You've been squirted and you didn't think that's one, a hazard if anyone fell in the mess but two, ruining people's clothes!!! I asked her to have the manager call me and she said the manager wasn't here. She then suggested I call tomorrow when I asked again to have the manager call me. I phoned to make a to go order and the girl asked me to hold so I got to listen to one other person order and then I got to hear the employees chat for about five minutes. "Emily" finally had to be reminded to take the phone order. When I got there I thought there would be a line out the door or something but no. They always seem short staffed here which leads to longer wait times and poor customer service. read more

Ok East Bayonites. You've got your choice between San Ramon, Livermore and Pleasanton to experience Nations. Skip on going to the Pleasanton one ... the Livermore and San Ramon locations kick some major boote' over Ptown. NOW, I'm not sure about breakfast, but the hamburgers and fries aren't as good. You can't go wrong with a cheeseburger with grilled onions ... they normally put raw on ther burgers so you have to request that. Oh my gosh my mouth is totally watering!!!!! The shakes will send you over the top and someone will have to bring a stretcher over to your table to take you out to your car if you have a piece of their pie ... it is GINORMOUS! mmmmm ... my favorite(s) are the any berry pie and the chocolate aka french silk. I have to say this morning was one of the worse breakfast that I have ever had, it must have been a long time since you have seen your coworker, since to spent more time talking to her than cooking the meals, eggs over easy with no hard yolk means just that, not cut out the over cooked yolk and serve me the egg whites, sorry excuse for hash browns, drenched in oil and over cooked, but on the bright side, I did need my teeth cleaned. I give up. I've given it 3 tries with different friends and every time they have messed up something. The Nations in Hayward makes this one seem worst than McDonalds. You tell them no onions and you either get just onions or nothing at all? The last time they were seriously struggling just 2 women- the orange haired guy was on break- we were the only ones waiting and they called a number that wasn't ours?!
