Nations always has consistently good burgers and breakfast. My only complaint is lately I think they have been using "facon" (turkey bacon) which I don't like. And they have started making the omelets different from before and going with the same unfortunate method of making a egg "burrito" with the ingredients inside that most restaurants are now favoring. Go to Emil Villa's if you want a great old-fashioned style omelet in town. Other than that the food is good, with plentiful portions and the burgers aren't loaded with salt like the fast-food joints. Prices are reasonable and, oh, the pies! One slice is a meal in itself! First timer if you could tell. The location is meh, so so. Tables and booths were not exactly cleaned and wrappers/napkins littered the floor. This place is super reminiscent of an old-style diner; it's like you enter a time machine when you walk into this place. Of course, it's been forever. It's about a 10 minute drive from the college, so I'm sure they get their fair share of college students coming by because the portions are ENORMOUS. I always get the bacon cheeseburger and some fries, and I never end up finishing all of it because there's just too much lol. I guess that's a good thing because you technically get more bang for your buck, which is nice. The burgers are definitely not as good as In-N-Out or Five Guys, but they're bigger and come with more fries. They also have a variety of pies (which I've never tried), and kind of makes me think this place is trying to pull of the whole Shari's thing, but Shari's pies are a bit cheaper by the slice than they are here. It was super dirty when I last came in, but I was happy my food was so big, so I kind of disregarded that. I loved coming here since i was a kid. They have several locations in the bay area and i remember going to the ones in Oakland when i was a kid with my dad and uncle. The location in Livermore opened, i think when i was in middle school. Recently while staying in town made a point to get dinner and breakfast here two days in a row. As usual the burgers/fries were great and the breakfast, as always was a simple diner breakfast but a good one. I would go back here and suggest this place to others. Tried this place out for the first time after moving in the neighborhood and it's walking distance. The bacon cheeseburger and salmon burger were great! We also ordered a whole coconut creme pie...however, upon eating a slice at home we realized we were given the banana creme instead of the coconut creme. When we moved to Livermore in 2004 from San Jose, the sight of a Nation's Giant Hamburgers was comforting. The Nation's in San Jose had closed roughly about 10 years ago and I hadn't seen one since. So, naturally, I had to get "re-aquainted" with the menu. Obviously, their burgers are their signature menu item. The hot dogs are also delicious. The Breakfast is served all day, and includes all the familiar staples of breakfast in America. It was a red meat kinda day. I arrived in mid-lunch rush so I did have to wait for my Bacon Cheeseburger w/Fries and regular slice of Banana Cream Pie. I think I waited about 15 minutes. I really don't get why this place, or the Nations franchise gets so many bad reviews. I have travelled around a lot and every area always says they have the best burgers. I still will put a Nations burger up against any of them. Yes I like In and Out, Yes I like Five Guys but I feel Nations is different. It is the big sloppy old fashioned burger joint that I have grown up with. So maybe I cant get it cooked animal style, and maybe I cant get 150 combinations, but the meat tastes fresh, the buns are soft and everything is good. Also, the pies are excellent. After all the hype on Yelp about Nation's, we were finally near one and decided to give them a try. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. Upon walking in we noticed many tables were dirty yet there were hardly any patrons. Chili Fries - these were probably the highlight of the meal but the portions were ridiculously small. I've never ever been served an order of Chili Fries this small and at this price, Ever. Banana Cream Pie - I'll admit I prefer cake over pie but this pie was pretty good. If anything overly sweet but I have a sweet tooth. I'm not sure if all of the other Nation's are the same but my first experience was not a good one. I doubt I'll ever return to a Nations again when delicious burger choices are endless. I came here directly from Nation's in Fremont,since they were sold out of pumpkin cheesecake as usual.So,I was hoping this location would have one.They had a half,which was better than none.So,we took it and then we ordered food.The food was not as good as the one in Fremont.
