The staff was friendly. The restaurant was clean. Definitely returning!

The lady that helped me was very sweet. They are a small joint but spacious enough for small groups with seating indoors and out. I would highly suggest this location than what the outlet food court offers.

I got the Oktoberfest chicken schnitzel sandwich and really enjoyed it. It was a little on the dry side, but still had really good flavor. The portion sizes here are also HUGE, especially the appetizers. You could easily split most of them between 2-4 people. The drinks were great too. The whole restaurant was really clean, including the bathrooms, which is always nice to see. It's also in a great location right in downtown Livermore. Overall, great food, big portions, good drinks, and excellent service. Definitely a solid spot and I'll be back!

One minor downside was the noise level during peak hours, but it's to be expected in a lively pub. Overall, First Street Ale House is a must-visit for anyone in the area. Great drinks, delicious food, and a vibrant atmosphere--what more could you ask for?

They offer burgers, fries, onion rings, hot dogs, milkshakes, etc. The space is no frills. they have about 1)2 dozen tables inside and a few out. They have a small staff and five off those mom and pop vibes I love. The burger was solid ( fresh toppings, good sized patty) and the onion rings were wonderful. They were crispy and had just the right amount of crispy ness. And the prices? More like 2006 than 2016. I got lunch for under $15 bucks ànd couldn't eat it all. Although Ben's is in a small strip mall, the area is mostly residential. So if you don't happen to be in the neighborhood, you might never find it. If you are a burger fan, you should visit. It might be off your beaten path, but small, local places like this should be cherished. Recommended.

On my most recent visit, I couldn't even get a simple hello, she just stared at me until I said something, and then she literally chucked her pen at me to sign my receipt. I almost wanted to match her energy and throw it back, but I didn't. The food is always good, though. The burgers are solid, and the fries, as usual, could use some salt. I asked if they could be salted, and she said no because the salt gets stuck in the fryer? I'm not really sure how that makes sense when the fries could simply be tossed with salt at the end before being put in the bag. Overall, the food keeps me coming back, but the customer service definitely needs some serious work.

The inside and patio are both casual and open, similar to a brewery, and they have a self-serve tap wall, which is awesome. First time using one, and despite the self-service setup and ordering at the counter, the service we did get was great. Wait time for food wasn't long at all. I ordered the Sessions Burger, and it was lowkey one of the best burger's I've had in a while. I love blue cheese on a burger, and the caramelized onions had a deep, rich flavor. I also liked that it wasn't obnoxiously large for no reason. The fries were perfect, and the ranch was excellent. Honestly, ranch is a good way to judge a place like this, and theirs was rich and smooth. Also really enjoyed the beer I chose. Pouring it yourself is a fun experience, I could spend all day trying different beers. Great spot. Would definitely come back if I'm ever in town again. And no, it's not just the post-hike hunger talking, this place is serving seriously good food.

The hostess was really kind to explain to us how their restaurant works in terms of the self serve beer as you pay at that front beforehand. Whereas, food items and cocktail drinks are ordered at the back left corner. We ordered the "Such a Gemini" and "Paper cut". Both were more on the sweeter side and you couldn't taste the alcohol at all. Quite dangerous really. The "Such a Gemini" was a hibiscus agave drink. The "Paper cut" was more of a fruity mix with the elderflower and lemon mixed in the whiskey, which I was a HUGE fan of. Gorgeous presentation as well! As for the food, we got the Sessions burger (cheeseburger) and cod tacos both with truffle fries. And maaan. Cod tacos were cooked well and super fresh. Big fan of that red salsa on the side. The Sessions burger was juicy and not dry, but I really enjoyed how it served on a pillowy pretzel bun! Would love to bring my family and friends here! I'd recommend this place if you need a space to hangout at.

Cure What Ales You…read more This locally-owned restaurant is run by a Canadian expatriate couple, Tom and Teresa Lawrie, whose love of comfort foods and libations has borne two similarly named restaurants and a speakeasy, the Honeycomb Lounge, also in Livermore. This location is in one of my favorite quaint downtowns in the Bay Area, Livermore, and really delivers on the comfort food front with lots of creative riffs on American classics that will make your cardiologist shake their head in disappointment. The Good: * Happy Hour M-Fri 2:30 p.m. - 5 p.m. * Outdoor dog-friendly seating * Online reservations and waitlist via Toast (access through their website) * Seasonal menus so there is always something new to try. * Friendly service * Full bar with signature cocktails, as well as local beers and ciders on tap. * The brisket dinner wasn't quite what I was expecting, as it was more of a pot roast than a BBQ classic, but man, it was one of the best pot roasts I've ever had. The beef was smoky, succulent, and melted in your mouth. The concomitant jalapeño mashed potatoes were a fantastic accompaniment, as you got all the flavor of the jalapeño but just enough heat to make it an excellently balanced dish. * The BBQ beans were more of a bean soup, but delicious and smoky nonetheless. The Meh: * Limited menu for vegetarians and vegans The Ugly: * Street parking can be tough to come by, especially on weekends, but if you don't mind walking, there is a free city-run garage on Maple St. that has tons of spots and is shaded from those hot Livermore summers. Conclusion: Great place to get drunk, fat, and happy. Need I say more? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
