Nate's is great and love their live music on certain days. I'm hoping to bring my friends here again whenever they do open the patio again.

I really like Nate's, they always have great spins on craft cocktails, a really fun atmosphere, and great themed parties.

Here's Nate's. Awesome atmosphere, all mix of life's, and great drinks. Got the signature Main Street Smash and expected one thing and got the other. Miss Rachel asked me if I would like another and I asked her if she could muddle the cucumber for me. She sampled my drink as a true bartender should and said, "yea, would you like that made the right way?" BOOM! A minute later Miss Rachel puts a banging drink in front of me made exactly the way I expected. A refreshing cucumber citrus vodka inebriating cocktail. Chill spot. Patio is a good hang. It has all the drinks you need. I just wish there was more of that vibe where the bartenders made you feel special. But I fully realize that could be entirely on me. Maybe this is best for a group of people looking to have fun than just a solo outing or a date night with the spouse. read more

I loved going to Nate's but the vibe has changed recently and it's not as chill as it used to be.

Really cool place but the service was awful. I was there Saturday morning and it wasn't busy but the only service person there was very unfriendly and answered every question with one word answers and finger points. There was a customer there that had dogs in a stroller inside and when we sat down beside them and commented on the dogs, she said "Don't get too close, the brown (or white one) bites". I don't think someone should bring a dog to a place of business where there are going to be other people knowing that the dog is a biter. read more

Douche bag service. Especially David. After being ignored for 10 minutes while sitting at the bar, David strips away our drink menu and I say "Ummm we weren't done with that." He replied "Really? I assumed you were because you were no longer looking at it." Then I ask if they had a particular liquor and he responds "Unfortunately we do. He proceeded to make more snide judgmental comments concerning our very SIMPLE order. I really wanted to like this place considering it has a super chill & totally awesome ambiance. I think I've gotten better customer service from the greeters at Wal-Mart. Hopefully David was just having a bad day. I will give it another try. Hopefully the staff makes an effort this time instead of acting like having customers in an inconvenience. read more

Morning bartender/barista is the only employee I've interacted with and her attitude is awful. Saw me enter but left me standing at the front without a word for over three minutes. This happened both times I've visited. Today, she refused to sell me food (which I asked for twice) over the hour and a half I was there. I want to love this place. So I'm not one to write reviews of any kind, but I had a less than great experience last night that I think should be addressed. My family and I have been coming to nates since it opened and have always loved it. We've gone to live music nights as a family (including my now 19 y/o little sister) and always had a good time. As you may know, Nates seconds as a coffee house, so that and the fact that my sister has been there past 8 pm with our family led me to believe it was okay for her to be there past 8 pm. It's completely reasonable to close off to minors after 8 pm, I was simply unaware. So my cousin came into town from north Texas and he and I sat down by the central fire and enjoyed a few drinks. My little sister got off work at 9 and since she hadn't seen my cousin in a while, so he told her to join us. As we were sitting outside, it was about 10 or so now, one of the bartenders came out and aggressively asked her if she was over 21. We immediately told him that she was not and instead of explaining the policy and ushering her out, he said "you've got to get out of here now!" Me being a little tipsy tried to deescalate the situation by sarcastically telling her that she should leave right now I suppose hurting his ego with the mockery. This made him mad and he raised his tone and said that he "didn't need the sarcasm" and we all had to leave. My cousin (also tipsy) didn't love how he was shouting at us and causing a scene so he did his best to have the bartender apologize. This made the bartender more angry and he got in my cousins voice and had some unnecessary discourse. At this point the manager had come out and had told us to leave without closing out or finishing our drinks. Mind you, my sister did not have a drink in her hand and had not drunk anything, we were simply trying to catch up. All this to say there are much better ways to respectfully escort whomever you would like out of the bar. I don't know. People with power complexes should not be bouncing in general, but I guess that's just the way it is. Next time maybe explain the rules of the establishment and escort whoever is breaking those rules out with a tiny sliver of respect. My cousin and I had broken no rules so I don't think there was need to have us leave and make me tip the overly aggressive bartender 20%. Just a weird situation that could have been handled better. read more

Sigh. Really tried to like this place! So much effort put into the ambiance and physical presentation of the place. We live in the area and we're so excited to see this place opened that despite the fact we didn't have a very good experience- we chalked it up to the fact that they were new and we were enthusiastic to return once they got everything sorted. So, we returned.... like 3 more times and it was disappointing each time. Slow and borderline rude service. No food or even snacks available to eat at least the few times when we went. Doesn't even work for a "Happy Hour" type evening. read more

Nate's is a craft cocktail lovers dream come true in the slim pickins town of Buda!! When I first moved here from south Austin I was very worried I wouldnt have a bar close by that could meet my high standards. The staff at Nates really know what they are doing. The drink specials are fantastic and creative. They make an amazing Sazerac, which is really hard to come by in these parts. I also really love their Mexican Martinis, The Last Word, & house made Lemoncello! My only critical feedback is that sometimes the guy bartenders aren't very friendly & welcoming. But the ladies are always super sweet. read more

Cocktails and bartenders were not so strong when it first opened but each year has improved dramatically! Went for Maddie gras this past February and it was crowded and still tons of fun. Great event-themed cocktails and great bartenders that know what they're doing. The cuvée coffee isn't my thing but it appears to be a big hit with other people! Had some cake balls while enjoying my fruity cocktail that was delicious and beautifully decorated. Ugh I hate to give this place a bad rating but hopefully they will take as constructive and fix it since they are new.. 1. The staff is cordial but that's it... They are not welcoming or warm. If they want to keep customers they need to be more friendly and less aloof. 2. I watched the staff cut and prepare a cutlery spread with assorted cheeses, meats and fruit. He started off with gloves while preparing it but then when he took the gloves off he used his BARE HANDS to rearrange the food. I don't think I can ever eat anything there now that I've seen that. Then he put 1 glove on to reach into a bag of pecans but then used the other ungloved hand to move the items around in the plate. This is extremely unsanitary. Just can't do it. read more

This is exactly what the Buda/Kyle area needed! Nate's is very fresh, new, chic, & urban like a lot of the happening hotspots in Austin, but without all the traffic! Over 18 beers on tap, espresso bar, & currently constructing a large outdoor patio that will be pet friendly. Nate's is conveniently located right past the old downtown (close to Super Slicks) with plenty of parking. Owned by the same owners of Moontower Saloon, Nate's is the polar opposite offering more refinement with less space. For me, Nate's reminds me more of Radio CoffeeBar & less of it's sister bar. No restaurant but outside food is welcome (for now) & they do have a limited assortment of pastries and cheese platters. This place is meant for people to gather as one in a hip social setting, not a gastro-pub or a fine-dining experience. The Buda/Kyle area's getting a lot more options & as a 4-year resident here, I'm liking what I see. I would like to think that this is just the tip of the iceberg but if you're in the area & want to go out for drinks, coffee, or fun you really need to check out Nate's! read more

Came here 2x in one day because this place is super unique! First, coffee. The coffee is good. Real good. I got a vanilla caramel latte. The barista/bartender asked how sweet I wanted it (ummm super) and she made me one of the best lattes of my life. No issues with customer service - I've seen a couple reviews that noted their experience was pretty poor. Later that same day I came back with some friends for drinks. I had a watermelon margarita and martini. Both very good. Strong. The customer service was ok. We sat ourselves - and again after reading previous reviews - I asked if there would be a waiter and we were told there would be. They all work together. The male server/waiter was on point. The female took our empty glasses, but then never asked us if we wanted another drink. The male waiter came back and took care of that. It was weird because she was a waitress - I saw her taking drink orders from other tables. We ordered a cheese plate - don't. It was below average cheese with 4 crackers and a handful of grapes for $13. The decor is very "fixer upper" style - which I love! There are TVs inside and a nice patio outside. I give you a 4 Nates because there is no bar food (all prepackaged sandwiches) and the evening customer service was a little off. I really Ike the atmosphere, the bar had a good selection on draft. Employees were really friendly and helpful. On the downside, we were really hoping for some decent bar grub. We saw "Independence Food" and were excited to see the offerings... Whah, whah, whaaaaah.... Prepackaged sandwiches and some mac salad, etc. not really what I call bar grub! Met a friend here for coffee/tea. I like the look a lot. Both inside and out were cool. Large bar, various seating including couches inside and a large patio deck. The servers were all over it. We interacted with 3 people and they all were extremely friendly. We did not have food but they bring in food from Crema bakery in Austin. I would def come back and hang out again. read more

This place sucks. The atmosphere is great, but the bartenders leave so much to be desired. Both times I've gone I've had issues trying to get the bartenders attention to get drinks. They serve people that got to the bar after I had. Extremely annoying. I hate country music, but the service down at willies joint is great they will get my business from now on. Went to Jayna Love's One year celebration here. I don't drink but was thrilled to have access to fancy coffee drinks! The best part was.... the bartender was happy to make us those drinks! Service with a smile, great location and great drinks. I may not live in Buda but I could see myself reading a book on that patio with a cold iced coffee. Thank you! I have been here 3 times now hoping that each time I'll have a better experience. I went there yesterday on a Monday, March 28th, with a girlfriend of mine to celebrate my birthday. We walk in and go up to the bar, the bartender was a philipino/Hispanic looking guy, and was very rude and had the worst attitude. We go up to the bar and he just looks at us with no greeting or anything, so I finally say "do y'all have any menus we can look at?" He hands us two menus which only had about 4-5 drinks on there. Me and my friend saw on their website that they have charcuterie boards, so I asked him "do y'all have an appetizers or finger foods?" And he said "this isn't a restaurant" so I told him "okay well on your website it says y'all offer these meat and cheese boards. " so he pulls one out and puts it in front of us so rudely. We order our drinks and me and my friend sit outside. Everytime we went up to him he seemed so annoyed and bothered by us trying to order something. Literally the worst service. Everytime I have been here the bartenders are so rude. Do yourself a favor and take your money elsewhere! I honestly shouldn't have even left a tip for this guy, that's how bad his attitude was. read more

This is the perfect place to hang out and/or get some work done. The internet is PERFECT and the atmosphere is amazing. You have a HUGE deck out back with overhanging trees for shade. I love the location of Nate's but I have noticed that the service is very inconsistent. Doesn't matter if it's a weekend or weekday. I have been both times. Either you're ignored or you get great service. It needs to be more consistent. On the days that I received bad service the place wasn't even crowded so I was confused as to why. They also would get more business if they served at least appetizers. Several times we have passed up Nate's based on the fact that there are no food options during happy hour when people are drinking. read more

This is my go to joint when the hubs and I get out without the kids. The lighting outside at night is magical. Service is excellent. I still love this place, amazing atmosphere and beer selection is always great, but avoid ordering a mixed drink, even something as simple as a rum and coke. It turns into a watery mess.
