What a fun place! Great staff, great drinks, and wonderful atmosphere. Loved that you could sit outside under the majestic oaks. We did not try the food, but it looked good as well. read more

Nate's - Absolutely loved Nate's! Super friendly staff and such a great atmosphere. My family totally enjoyed it. - Cocktail Bars Near Me - Buda, Texas

Nate's is the best (new!) local staple to downtown Buda. The service is always amazing and they take care of people! It is a cool, calm atmosphere and they treat everyone as a regular. Their drink selection is way above par and the best thing - they always stock local brews, keeping it a true local gem. The bartenders are the best! They will treat you like royalty, always smiling, play the best music, listen to their patrons and ensure the safety of everyone. Its truly refreshing that they will take caution of others, when others are not responsible for their drink intake. It let's us locals know that everyone leaves with a designated driver or they will call you an Uber. Most bars downtown are more worried about making that extra dollar than care for your safety. So kudos for keeping the roads of Buda safe! We love the live music on the weekends and the outdoor area is incredible! The ENTIRE bar (yes, indoor and outdoor folks) is dog friendly. So bring your four-legged fur baby with you. Heck, they will even give your pup a treat (or two). Overall, I (we) cannot say enough about how wonderful everyone is: from the owners, managers, bartenders, staff and even the regulars. Everyone here is a delight and treats you like family. Thank you, Nates for being such a chill and relaxing spot for all us locals. We really appreciate what all of you do for all your customers the local community :) #natesonbuda read more

Been there twice and will not return again. For the first visit I noticed staff wasn't real friendly, but they were busy. With that said I didn't write a review and decided to give them another chance 10 months later. My second visit was really really disappointing. I went on a Saturday night and there were a handful of people and 3 employees. My friends & I walk in, grab a table waited for someone to take our drink orders. After 20 min we get up, look for a menu and place our drink orders at the bar. The 3 bartenders talked amongst themselves like if we didn't exist. We were very much confused. Not one of them came out of the bar area to see if we wanted another drink. Very poor service, which is sad bc the place is cute and it has a great looking patio but with staff like that who wants to go back? read more

I love this place. I am not a bar person and you will never catch me at bars at night. I'm just not that type of person. However,It's the perfect place to go and bring your computer during the day. I will go and sit outside and get some work done while having a glass of wine. My only suggestion is that I wish they would at least have a sandwich menu or something of that sort. I usually just get their cheese and cracker tray. I just wish they had more food to offer.. read more

Great ambiance, service and selection. I love to stop by and get some work done at the lounge chairs while sipping a cold refreshing beer. Can't beat the local atmosphere! read more

We have visited this establishment multiple times in the past. Loved everything about it from the atmosphere, setup, music, drinks, food and desserts. We love supporting local businesses as we would love to see them succeed. However, our most recent visit was not the same of the others. The bar staff, mostly a shorter man with curly hair was beyond rude and disrespectful to patrons. We will not be back after having service like this. We have other options to choose from in the area and will not be treated the way he treated us and others. read more

Nates is a very stylish and quaint BAR. However if you are coming here to expect a menu of food, don't come here. They barely have any selection of food and the bar mainly only has beer and wine. If you want any cocktails, they are not good at all. The customer service was lacking and the drinks were expensive. read more

I've been to Nates about 4 times. Was really looking forward to something decent to come to Buda. Had no idea that some of the same bartenders from Moontower would be working here. I have no idea what is up this group of bartenders...they are extremely rude at times and there's rarely good service. Brought a dog in for my last time (they let him in the first time we came), they said he had to go outside. They had no area for him outside...the best part is that their logo is a dog!! They have pictures of dogs everywhere on the inside haha. Buda will never have anything cool. The building is nice but that's about it. Won't be going back. Looking forward to the new brewery to open down the street...maybe they will have it right. read more

Worst service I've ever been too. I wouldn't even give this place a star, but you have to give it a star to post a review. Stopped in to grab a quick drink and something to eat. There were about six people sitting around the bar. We grabbed a table directly across from the bartender but never received any service whatsoever. In fact, she turned her back to us and the rest of the bar for about five minutes. After realizing that we were not being given any attention, much less a hello as we walked in we decided to leave to which nobody said anything as we left either. With service like that I can't see this place surviving very long. read more

I like this place. Gone here a few times for a beer with a buddy. Plenty seating inside and outside. Mellow vibe. Beer selection is good ... variety of local brews. Good place for hanging out and talking ... not super loud. read more

Hi, this is Nate. We thank y'all for the positive comments and corrective criticism. We are still fine tuning our establishment and are taking everything under advisement. If it wasn't right before, it may be now so please revisit. We are ecstatic and thankful for the reception we have received from the community. It has has been gracious and up lifting...also(with very few exceptions), everyone has been a joy to get to know. Over the next few weeks we will iron out the kinks addressed, finish the patio, and continue to evolve to meet and exceed the expectations of our present guests and provide an inviting, enjoyable, and memorable(positive) experience to all in the future. Thank you all for your patronage and know, while not perfect we are taking steps daily to make us your spot. Whether from Buda, Kyle or anywhere in the Austin/San Antonio metroplex and beyond. Thank you again. Nate, not the Nate it's named after, "The Nate",see you there. read more

After much anticipation I was excited to try the new bar in town! Decor and atmosphere are great! Service however definitely needs some work. Have been here several times and bottom line is if you want good service, sit at the bar. We've sat at a table on all occasions we've visited and they are less than accommodating. It's unfortunate we had to flag down a waitress for a new drink sitting at a table, but we quickly observed that everyone at the bar was taken care of like family. Hopefully this improves before the patio opens or I won't see the point in continuing to come here compared to the other Buda bars and restaurants. read more

Great place nice atmosphere. Very laid back. Perfect place. At least till I got my bill. They double charged every drink.

Great ambiance, comfortable seating and good coffee but the service sucks! The bartenders couldn't care less about you. At first I wasn't sure if it was a racial thing but I think it's just that they are horrible at customer service. All of them! A warm smile and friendly attitude go a long way dummies! read more

Love going to Nate's to grab a drink! This place is a coffee shop & bar so no matter what I'm in the mood for it's a great little spot! It's located in a charming plaza next to the old silos in downtown buda. Great patio and I indoor areas to sit and be comfortable! read more

Easygoing and so comfortable! Was able to have a drink concocted by the bartender that no one else has been able to make in over 20+ years. Live music on occasion. Sounds are well-absorbed by all of the wood & high ceiling. Children & dogs blend right in with the fun! read more

This place is flat out gorgeous! Lily helped us at the bar and was very friendly. Baked goods from Crema. New, large deck going in. This little development is going to change the landscape of Buda. Nicely executed! Wish we lived in Buda and weren't just passing through. read more

This is a great place to grab a drink. Snacks are available but they are building a new dog-friendly deck that will be amazing. Coffee is great in the morning and the atmosphere is so relaxing. Once this deck is finished I think things are going to boom. The owner also owns MoonTower and I am so lucky to live right between the 2. I will be back many times to both. read more

For the love of god please get beer menus. We sat ourselves and were given a full two-page wine menu, and a small slip of paper with four different cocktails on it. But where is the beer menu? I see you have many different beers on tap, what all are they? The atmosphere is pleasant. Good lighting, table/(heavy) chairs, and a convenient location. The TVs weren't too loud; it's a great environment for conversations and not having to yell at each other, but still feels like a bar. I'm glad I read other Yelp reviews before coming here, we were aware that they don't serve food (yet?) and made sure to eat dinner first. One reviewer mentioned their four-year-old not being welcomed. I'm glad! Please don't bring your kids here. It's a BAR. We'll definitely come back when the patio is finished. I know it's still a new place so I'm sure they'll have worked out more kinks by then. :) read more

I was very excited, but In my experience, a 512 Pecan Porter should not be served in a goblet glass and cost $5.50. Employees are personable but seem a little lost in their element. I've gone to get coffee on two occasions and neither were tasty. Both times I've been there it seems that no one knew how to properly pull shots off the espresso bar, and were hesitant to do so.. Or maybe I am not a fan of Cuvee coffee...? I was also served a cold brew iced coffee in a paper hot cup which quickly started to fall apart from the condensation. There are some kinks to work out for sure. read more

Great service. Great cocktails. Great atmosphere. Beer selection is good. It would be nice if they rotated some beers. Coffee is good if you need s pick me up. Can't comment on food, but looks good. read more

Wow. Nice way to end the week. The craft beer and wine selection was great, and the staff is friendly. Buda is a great place to call home, and downtown is keeping up with the growing population yet "you can breathe here". We'll be back at the end of a long week. read more

We love Nate's, it is just what Buda needed! Our first time there was Mother's Day and we have been back every weekend since! Great drinks, friendly staff, fun atmosphere. Can't wait for their deck to get built! read more

Nate's is part of the old Buda Mill and Grain project, which has refurb'd historic buildings for office and retail use. What a nice addition to Buda, Texas! The environment is top notch, and Nate's selections were solid as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We didn't have time to stay long when we visited. I had one of their local beer offerings, and our time was up. I look forward to enjoying the vibe a bit longer next time. I'd highly recommend it for an aperitif or a night on the town. read more

Horrible, rude waitress if that's what you want to call her. I agree to the other negative reviews. they seem to help who they want to help. Nothing great or inviting about this place at all. Sticking to moontower in Austin Tx read more

I love this place! The atmosphere is chill, the coffee is great, and the people are nice. This is my go to place when I need somewhere ascetically pleasing to just relax or get some editing done. read more

Dave was extremely rude..major lack of customer service and the wherewithal to accept recommendations. WILL NOT BE REVISITING THIS ESTABLISHMENT UNLESS HE NO LONGER WORKS AT NATES.. Note to the owner: Please hire staff which are willing to accept positive feedback rather than staff who are condescending and making cross county traveling patrons feel as though we know nothing about what we are trying to encourage..I was only trying to make a simple suggestion and felt like a total fool. Dave was completely out of line and said we could find what we were asking for at Denny's. Well, #1. Denny's doesn't serve alcohol, so he really was speaking out of context, #2. When a patron asks for something, a snide remark is not something to be expected especially when you're a paying customer, #3. I'd certainly hope in the future, when a customer asks for something specific, a simple yes or no would come from the staff and not a condescending remark. I've worked in the customer service industry for over 20 years and have yet to feel this enthralled to write a negative review until now. I am personally disgusted by the treatment my husband and received and hope this is handled sooner than later. Sincerely, Unhappy customer read more

I would frequent this place even if it weren't so close to home. I am a freelancer always looking for a place to get out of the home office with my laptop and dog in tow to enjoy a cup of coffee or beer while I work. Until now, I would have to travel to South Austin but Nate's fits the bill just fine. The decor and atmosphere is as good as any trendy coffee/beer place in Austin, without the "we're too cool" vibe. True the food selection isn't great (a couple of food trucks would be a welcome addition) and the service is rather inattentive but they are dog-friendly (inside and out), have a good selection of craft beers, full bar + plenty of Cuvee Coffee offerings. I can't speak to evenings or nights at Nate's but I do know that they occasionally have entertainment and events. I suspect the place is frequented by the locals in the evenings as it's one of the few decent places in the area. All in all, very welcomed addition to this area. I would just make one suggestion: train the service staff to pay attention to the customers. read more

Hands down the best bar in the Buda/Kyle area. Always friendly staff, great atmosphere, good music, excellent selection of beer on tap. Did I mention the always friendly staff? The bartenders are the biggest reason I keep coming back. read more

This place is getting better and better. I was have been here several times since they opened. It was slow going in the beginning. The outdoor construction wasn't finished and the interior, while extremely nice, didn't quite service the clientele appropriately on a busy night. They had too many large tables that were useless when only two people sat there. Needed more two people tables. They have recently added more sofa's and more comfortable seating inside for smaller groups which has really improved the place. Their outside deck was finished some time ago and with the weather improving it's nice to sit out there. They have changed the staff which is helpful but they could use some friendlier people walking around to clear off tables and take drink orders. If you read my other reviews, I always complain about service and I always chalk it down to Austin being too lax of a city. It bothered me that our plates and empty cups just sat on our table for hours before someone came to clear them away. It bothered me that no one comes around to check to see if we are ok for drinks or other items. We had to go to the bar every time we wanted a drink even though there was a waitress. Businesses would do so much better if they all gave their staff classes in customer service etiquette. read more

We have been here a few times the atmosphere is pleasant, you do need to sit at the bar. I do think they need food maybe a good food truck also having a good drink special would be great read more

This place is dope. Anyone who says different, we'll fight them irl. We're here at least once a week, and we've never had a bad experience. The drinks are great, cookies are delicious, shout out for having Geeks Who Drink out. But most of all, Nate is amazing! If you have a dog & don't come out here, I feel sorry for your dog. From the treats to the back scratches, our dogs have been pampered to the max every time we've been here. They look forward to it as much as we do. We couldn't be happier to have a new favorite bar! read more

We finally got a chance to drop by this wonderful place and are so glad we did. They are dog friendly so we could take our pup with us while we enjoyed some of the best coffee around and some pastries too. Wonderful atmosphere and friendly folks made us feel right at home. Amazing coffee, yummy sandwiches and salads, and good happy hour selection! Love the vibe and all around a great place to hang out!

There are a ton of options for draft beer, but I just wasn't feeling the vibe. Food is super limited (and pricey) so it's hard to drink more than a round or two without some comeda. Not sure Buda is the right place for something like this (yet) or maybe I'm just used to bar staple food. read more

Had coffee the other morning and really loved the interior design. It reminded me of Scandinavia. It is very open with a contemporary rustic style. The lemon bars were crazy awesome. I plan to return with my dog, Trooper to sit on the patio and try more fabulous items. read more

Went there with my wife for date night. Drinks were pricy and the staff wasn't very friendly. The atmosphere was loud, even though there were a ton of people in there. I believe though that they are working on the sound panels. Lots of kinks to be worked out. Drinks are overpriced and the service needs a lot of attention. Will go back when they figure this out. read more
