We came in on a Sunday morning and the wait wasn't to bad about twenty minutes. Really nice decor with a warm atmosphere. Service was good everybody was friendly. Waited about forty min for breakfast to be served. But at least it didn't come out cold. Real problem though is the noise in the front dining room. It was so loud that we had to stop talking because we could not even hear across the table. Design in this room should include noise dampening for more enjoyable meal. read more

So I went to visit my buddy up this weekend in Chico for New Years and, after a crazy night of drinking, we all decided to go to Nash's. One word. WOW. First, lets talk about the woman/girls that work there. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the how gorgeous most of the girls that work there are. This is good and bad. Good because it keeps people coming back in (if your a guy) but they can be very intimidating because of there looks. Believe me, no one wants to be another a$$hole customer trying to be some pick up artist on a waitress. But overall, the waitress we had was fast and kept the drinks filled. Now to the more important part, the food. I ordered the salmon omelete and wow. It was AMAZING. The combinations of flavors just worked. It had a perfect blend of cheese, salmon, cream cheese and egg to really awaken your taste buds. The toast and hashbrowns though were standard. There's nothing special about them but it's not like they were bad tasting either. Overall, if you want to get a good/decent breakfast, I would stop in. If you want to look at some gorgeous girls i'd go in. If you feel like passing on Nash's you could, but honestly I don't know where you can get a salmon omelete. read more

The majority of their food is pretty incredible. This is especially true of their breakfast options. Another post mentioned the Smoke Salmon Omelette and the Eggs Benedict and honestly, those are my favorite, too. I've also eaten several of their salads and a couple of their burgers. The truth is, I've never had "bad" food here. That's the only reason they are given two stars. Let's talk about the service, because that is a completely different can of worms. I have never had good service here. It doesn't matter what day I go, what time of day, how many people, what I order, or which president is in the White House. I feel like, to a certain extent, if you're making the choice to eat at Nash's, you have to expect bad service because it's what they are known for. It's happened to pretty much everyone I have ever talked to about this place, and I've observed it when I've been with my family or friends. However, one day in particular, they crossed a serious line. The server poured juice all over my daughter, and then didn't even so much as bring more napkins or towels over to help clean her up. She didn't apologize and she told my daughter, "That's what happens when you push the table. You shouldn't do that." To be clear, my daughter didn't push the table. I know, because I was in the process of folding her napkin for her and had my eyes on her the whole time. What really happened is that the server actually missed putting the juice on the table. I then told the server that I had seen what happened, and that it was her mistake, not my daughter's. She dug her heels in and insisted my daughter had to have pushed the table, causing the juice to spill. So not only did she do this, she tried to deflect blame to my kid as though I hadn't just seen the whole thing go down. I was furious and demanded our check. My daughter was sticky, cold, and upset that juice was over her food, and they acted totally indifferent. They also got our ticket wrong. When I addressed it with the hostess at check out, she said, "Oh, well, you know, it's her first day of working as a server, ever." And I told them what a coincidence, because it was my first day of not tipping a server, ever--and I'm someone who tips 20 percent for mediocre service! I heard later that server got fired, but it was so uncool that Nash's defended her. It isn't like I was demanding a free meal--I asked that the server own up to her mistake and apologize for yelling at my kid, who was upset that she felt reprimanded by an adult for something that she didn't do. read more

This is a great little restaurant in a nice little area of downtown Chico. I was recently here less than a week ago for a rehearsal dinner that was held in the private dining room that is closed off and faces Esplanade. The room that the dinner was held in was private from the rest of the restaurant and was a good size to hold the sizeable group that we had. Upon arriving, we entered through the back door that opened into the bar area. While we waited for the group to matriculate in, my husband and I grabbed a beer. The bartender was very friendly and the beers were cold - and cheap to boot. After lingering around in the bar area, we were transferred to the private dining room. Because of the size of the group, the bride and groom had pre-ordered buffet-style food for dinner and it did not disappoint. To start, they had cheeses and bread for us to snack on. (The brie cheese was deeeliishhhhh). For the main course there was bread, salad, pasta, and chicken that was sitting in a creamy, pesto-ie-ish sauce. It was all really good. The service for our large party was on point. I am sure that serving large groups that are loud and walking around isn't the easiest of feats, however, the waitstaff handled themselves extremely well for the room being so crowded and chaotic. read more

I want to love Nash's but something about it (maybe the hangovers) makes it somewhat off-putting. The food is yummy, but for instance, my friend ordered the biscuits and gravy and the gravy was turkey gravy... I tried the shredded zuchinni, hoping to find a healthy alternative but they just made me wish I ordered the hash browns, even though they weren't bad -- definitely good for non-tater-eaters. Tips for enjoying your champagne breakfast: If at all hungover, pop an advil, drink a glass of water, get there early so you don't have to wait forever and a day for a table, dress comfortably, order the hashbrowns with your meal, orange juice with your champagne is a must... otherwise it's like drinking dish soap with your omlette. I've been a regular at Nash's for a few years, usually on weekends for Champagne brunch. I'm usually one of the many nursing a hangover, waiting with a group to devour some champagne and continue encouraging my liver to adopt cirrhosis. Now I changed up my routine and went sober. I figure to give a proper review, you would need to have awareness of cleanliness, attentiveness, food quality, and overall experience. Arrived at 11:30 on a Saturday. It was packed, and we waited a few minutes for a table. Once seated, the drink order was taken promptly. They are very good at pouring Champagne and are attentive to empty glasses. Ordered food within 10 minutes of being seated and having drinks. Great so far. I had the Eggs Benedict and hash browns. My friend had Steak and Eggs with fried zucchini. Food arrived timely, then it went downhill. The food is not very good. Honestly, it kind of sucks. Eggs Benedict had an 1/2 thick slice of ham on it. It was more of a ham steak than slice. Salty and tough, overpowered the flavor of the hollandaise sauce. The steak and eggs were good, but the fried zucchini was soggy and luke warm. It wasn't edible. You'd have to be drunk or nursing a terrible hangover to enjoy it, and then I realized that was my typical state on previous visits. This place makes a business on having attractive waitresses serve crappy food, and they do it very well. Five stars to the wait staff. One star for the food. read more

Went in at 2pm, not realizing we were totally dining after their lunch hours. Every server and host greeted us with a smile. We had no idea we were eating late because they treated us better than any other place that stays open later than 2. So, customer service: A+! The food was probably the best breakfast I've had in Chico. I ordered the three egg breakfast and a half side of french toast. It was divine. The french toast was cooked to perfection, just enough to be crispy outside, but perfectly soft inside. The bacon is thick, real bacon. None of that Denny's paper thin crap. The eggs were done perfectly and just about every bit of it rocked. Also, I'm not sure what kind of crack they put in the syrup, but it's probably the best syrup I've ever tasted. Food: A++ We got our food in less than 15 mins and the environment was quiet/ helpful. Now, this could have been because we were "those assholes" by dining late, but it was totally awesome for us! (Sorry Nash's staff!) Another A+. I am really impressed. I've always had a solid "meh" response to dinners at Nash's but I have an entirely new outlook after having had breakfast there. I came to town to visit some college friends and they wanted to go to this place called Nash's! It was super cute and I was really excited for their bottomless mimosa's. However they refused to serve me drinks because they apparently have never seen an out of state license before?? Completely ridiculous. Other than that the food was decent, nothing more than your regular brunch menu. The environment was cute, our waitress was super friendly, but horrible service. We waited at least 20 minutes for our waitress to take our orders and no one ever came to refill our waters. Definitely tip-centered service. read more

We went on a Saturday night and it was dead; its a tough time for small establishments and this is much more of a breakfast place, but I was still suprised-not even one other table was there, and the bar had a few patrons-mostly workers.. The service was fine, but the food was not super exciting and that is being generous. The fries arrived soggy, limp and sad. They are the "dirty style" fry that is more of a rustic cut and they usually rock, but these had been sitting out. I got the burger, I think it was a gouda burger or something like that. The cheese, in my humble opinion waaaaay overpowered the burg because it was way too rich. I could not finish one half of it and ended up leaving it. I always feel shitty doing that, but what do you do? She had what I think was an enchalada on home style flour tortilla chips. She was bummed; the chips were stale, greasy and the cheese in the "enchalada" had melted in to that wierd rubbery plastic disk thing. All in all, it sucked; the bill was like $20 with beer, so I can't complain too much.. Usually I try to spice up these reviews, but I really can't on this one. Every time I've gone to Nash's I have had terrible service. The first time I went with a couple of friends and the waitress just gave us attitude the entire time and seemed annoyed by us just being there. I figured she must have thought that we were just college students, so who cares. The second time I went with my parents so I thought they'd put a little more effort in the service. It seemed fine, but when the food came out, only two plates showed up. My dad ended up waiting TEN minutes for his food after we got ours. The food was okay. It's not worth the price especially when the service is so terrible. And there are other places to get champagne brunches in chico. Ones that have bigger glasses too. First time dining here and it sucked. 20 mins just to get seated. If you have to wait to get seated you expect exemplary service and fantastic food. I received neither. After our drinks were served it took about 15 mins for our waitress to take our order. 20 mins later our brunch was served. In my country potatoes I noticed a lengthy curly hair. After the waitress (suspiciously) came back with a new plate within a few minutes we enjoyed our meal. We were checked on....not once. After everyone had finished their meal we waited for about 20 mins until I could flag someone down for the check. Food ok. Service not ok. Parking sucks. My daughter got married two days after Christmas and we held her reception here. From the moment we walked in the door to book her reception, to the moment we left after the reception, Michelle and her staff were beyond amazing! They were very attentive and couldn't do enough for us! The atmosphere was beautiful and the food was incredibly delicious! Everyone commented on how beautiful everything looked. However either their online menu is not up to date, their staff does not know what they serve, or they were closing when I called in to order and acted like calamari piccata did not exist BECAUSE they wanted to close. Nash's has taken great strides w/ updating their menu/restaurant. The food as well as the service was great. We had a large party for my mom's 80th birthday. There were ages from 1-80. The staff handled everyone w/ expertise. We had attention to detail & never an empty glass, whether it be water, champagne or coffee ect.... The variety of breakfast offered, makes it difficult to choose, from the skillets to the omelets, they are all great! I also love that you can get a pastrami sandwich at brunch or a burger if that's what you want. (Btw...the biscuits are awesome!). Nash's is by far our favorite Chico staple & shouldn't be missed. This review is about the breakfast portion: Without a doubt, the best breakfast restaurant in Chico I've tried so far (dare I say, best breakfast restaurant I've tried ANYWHERE? This even beats Linda Seabreeze Cafe down in Santa Cruz, in my opinion, and people lose their minds over that place!). The food is incredibly delicious - everything I've ordered has been incredible - and the price is very reasonable (Breakfast for two came out to around $30 or less). The staff is friendly too! I've ordered the hot-pepper scramble and the Hangover (hash browns, chili, eggs... amazing!) and I'm definitely planning on trying the rest of the menu over time. Depending on the day, service is also incredibly fast (except for Sunday mornings.. but that's to be expected). If the dinner section is as good as the breakfast, I'm SO excited to give it a try. My favorites are either the French Toast or the Monterey Omelet with Hash Browns for breakfast, the Pastrami with Chili (Yum) for lunch & the Lemon Parmesan Chicken with the Angel hair pasta for Dinner. Me and a group of friends came by here for breakfast initially for bottomless mimosas as a way of celebrating the end of finals and saying goodbye to each other. They arrived a lot earlier than me because I was misdirected by google maps about this place. Luckily, Yelp tells you where the restaurants and places are so I was able to get there (thanks Yelp!). I arrived to the restaurant pretty much when the group was about done with their meal. The waitress noticed that I finally arrived and was kind to give me a menu and coffee. The food came in REALLY quick, like by far the fastest time I've ever experienced ever (props to the cook who was able to do that). The food itself was really good and was a really big plate. Although a little overpriced, with this kind of experience, I am happy enough to pay for it. I like this place a lot and definitely will be back here! read more

You have local Chico families coming with their families, sorority girls from Chico state having brunch and then you have people like me and my friends, who come to Nash's after a much needed pick-me-up after a night of debauchery. But no matter who you are, you'll enjoy Nash's. It's kind of the go-to place. They have STELLAR biscuits and gravy, I would highly recommend them. And their wait staff is always friendly, and even with as many people Nash's has, they do their best to keep your coffee cup full. I usually get the Hangover which is basically a southwestern get-up with beans, cheese, tomatoes, and green onions on top of hash browns with eggs on top (your choice of style).
