One of the several spaces at Irongate. So beautiful.

What an amazing venue for a wedding! So unexpected to find such class and beauty in the middle of the nut-fields of Chico. The grounds are lush and green and very well kept. There is so much room! The use of spaces with multiple courtyards and greens is perfect for a quiet small event or a huge luxurious wedding. The house had plenty of rooms for getting ready. Super clean and well maintained. Three bathrooms available for guests with access directly from the courtyards were all kept so clean and nice. Signage makes everything so easy for guests to park, enter and get around. Management was great with communication. 10/10 would recommend.

This was such a nice surprise! The Irongate Garden Inn hosted my sister's retirement party and I wasn't sure what to expect. The address is right in the middle of orchards and horse properties on the far northern edge of Chico. The Inn is a former ranch-style home on some beautiful acreage. The grounds are well-groomed and inviting. There's plenty of space for people to wander around and if you happen to stay in one of the three guests rooms (as I did) you'll find the furnishings comfortable and tasteful.

I made good use of the fridge and counter and there was plenty of room for the games we played, seating, and had fun dancing to the dj. Didn't have to worry about much. Bathrooms worked well and that was important to me. I didn't have any problems communicating with setting up prior to the event It held 80 people easy and the yard was well kept and nice for the potato sac game we played, and the corn hole game. I've booked another holiday party for next year and would highly recommed this place for my friends and family to do their gatherings. Four out of 5 stars because the parking was a bit confusing to.figure out. Plenty of space, but not lined so I needed to get some cones and figure it out (likely cause I overlooked this part and didnt ask..lol).

I had planned this event since the beginning of the year. We were asked to give a deposit to reserve the date, she was late and had forgot so we had waited for her to arrive even after rescheduling from the original date. During the time between I had asked to confirm how many tables, how many chairs, how long were the tables. Which I was told there was 10 tables and seat 60 people which was perfect because that's capacity I was expecting for my event. When asked to confirm the table length I was told she was going to check the next day and then I heard nothing from her for two days. I reached out again where she gave me excuses that her husband had doctor's appointments and what not. I did not care, just needed the information for decoration purposes. The week of my event she asked me to call her regarding the payment (I had her on speaker with my partner in the car listening) I said I could meet at 7 and she said she goes into work at 3am and goes to bed at 7pm. I told her well if that doesn't work that I can zelle her which she was ok with (she never once stated anything about a walk through). The day of my event a few days later my partner arrives at 12pm and sends me a message saying we're going to need more chairs, my response was why she stated she had 60 chairs. He's telling me there was on 30 chairs available. Mind you this is the hour before my event which was to start at 1pm (she does not give you time for setup or breakdown of you event you have to pay for additional hours). I asked to speak to her she said she doesn't recall us talking about chairs just about how many tables and that there are only 30 chairs available, I told her she said there was 60 chairs 6 chairs per table she goes on and says to let her call the owner and see if he took any chairs. I arrive at the location she tells that the owner removed some broken chairs and I told her now I have to find remaining chairs in the hour I have to set up for my baby shower and pay out of pocket she said that's why she "wanted to do a walk through" when collecting final payment which was another lie because she never stated a walk through. I asked her if she is going to remove what I'm going to have to pay out of pocket from what I paid her for the event space, she said no. She started getting a bad attitude and extremely rude in front of my decorator and family saying that if I'm not happy that the owner said I can take my event somewhere else. Like wtf?! So unprofessional! I told her it's not personal it's business and you stated there was 60 chairs and now because you can't remember it's my fault and you have the nerve to tell me at 8 months pregnant with 1 hour to set up my event that I could take it somewhere else after I already paid you and gave you deposit?!!!!!!!! She lingered around for the 30mins and had the nerve to ask me if I need help finding chairs I told her I had it handled so she could leave and out of my face! Her own husband was telling her to be quiet after what she said to me. I do NOT wish that unprofessionalism on anyone's event and hope you don't bring her any business! She will learn as a new event coordinator and the owner as well that is NOT how you treat nor talk someone that has already paid you for a service. I kept quiet until she sent me my deposit back and I am warning all of you of my experience with Kristen. FYI: if your going to run a business your schedule needs to work with others schedule you can't expect everyone to be available when you want them to be just because you work at 3am it's called sacrifice and clearly you can't do that for the sake of the business

The host told us they didn't have any roses but came out with a little bouquet! For the dinner part, we were expecting a little more. The complimentary cornbread wasn't great in our opinions, but I'm sure others may like it. It's clearly homemade and comes with 3 different butters to put on top. We ordered the Salmon and Smashburger and they were both definitely over priced for what it tasted like. The salmon didn't have a lot of seasoning so it sort of tasted like something we'd give our cat. The sweet potato's on that dish were also not the best. The smashburger, in my opinion, would've tasted better if I got it from In N Out across the street. The entire burger just tasted like meat..no seasoning and there was maybe a drop of their aioli on the burger so all in all it just wasn't the best. I would've had a better experience at In N Out. We also ordered the Wagyu meatballs and never received them. We thought it was taking a minute to cook but all we got instead was the check..he didn't even ask us if we wanted dessert. We had wanted to check out their dessert menu and possibly get their strawberry shortcake but I guess that wasn't in the cards for us. We also ordered a cocktail and mocktail. My wife's mocktail (Kava Mule) was great! My cocktail (Horchata Mai Tai) was genuinely the strongest drink I've ever had. The flavor was nice if you could get past the amount of Bacardi they poured in there. Every drink I took felt like I was taking a shot. So with all that being said, unfortunately we won't be returning to Rancher's Daughter. Between the bland and expensive food, the forgotten about meatballs, the check rushed to our table, and the drinks..it's just the not the place for us.

We really had high hopes but were let down. We shared the complimentary corn bread, the arancini, and the hummus crudite. I had the turkey Thanksgiving dinner plate and my husband had the tri tip Thanksgiving plate. The starters were okay - cornbread was a very light texture and the butters that came with it weren't that good. The arancini was fine, just nothing too special but didn't come out very hot. The hummus didn't taste like much and came with a ton of bell peppers, Kalamata olives, artichoke hearts, and some pita. The turkey dinner was not good. The mashed potatoes and the turkey were okay. The root vegetable medley was not good and the stuffing was terrible, it was so mushy and weird. The gravy on the mashed potatoes already had a film over it like it had been sitting out for a while and was not hot at all. I also got an espresso martini that was not good. My husband got the horchata Mai tai - he liked it. My husband said the tri tip was okay but overall the plate was disappointing. They also mentioned on the phone that they would give us a complimentary dessert for my husband's birthday but never brought anything out. Trying to give them the benefit of the doubt that it was a busy night and might give them another chance with their regular menu entrees but I don't have high hopes.

We met with the Club's event organizer, Sara Rose, to find out if it would be a fit for us. Sara Rose was friendly, honest, and professional. After we chose the Women's Club to be our venue, Sara Rose kept in contact with us --- answering any and all questions that we had. One of our concerns was who would clean up after the event. Cleaning in a wedding dress was the LAST thing I wanted to do. However, our family and friends cleaned up the decorations, and Sara Rose offered to clean the rest for a very reasonablel fee. The Women's Club was the perfect wedding reception venue for us. It was very affordable when compared to other venues in the area ($750 for the entire day), and it was close in proximity to our ceremony location in Bidwell Park. With its hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, and hanging chandliers, the main room required litle decoration. The Women's Club also offers a stage which we took advantage of with our choice of a live band, The Decades. The patio area in the back gave those who wished to converse in a more quiet location an opportunity to do so. The garden foliage behind the back patio coupled with our hanging lanterns and cocktail tables gave the space quite a festive feel. Finally, the kitchen area was a great asset for our catering company, Bacio's. I would reccomend this venue to any couple who is on a budget, yet is looking for a relaxed and fun wedding reception.
