This restaurant has been around for a long time and what I really like is an extensive draft beer selection including Guinness on tap. They also have the usual bar food plus Italian Staples. If you check their website they have events every night including trivia and a lot of live music. Atlanta has more and more of the restaurants which all look the same and taste the same and this is one of those remaining small businesses that you should support if you like music or want to come down for one of their events. Avoid the cocktails they are strictly average but the beer selection is pretty good and the food you cant go wrong. Desserts are pretty reasonably priced too. read more

We've had the good fortune to visit Napoleon's number of times, both for trivia tournaments, and just regular patrons. We have always found the staff to be very helpful, and friendly. And the food is often really good. The service was solid; our server was knowledgeable about the menu and offered excellent recommendations. And there's a variety of things on the menu. You can't seem to go wrong with a burger. But I like the fish & chips. The spinach & artichoke dip is a real crowd-pleaser, and someone at your table is going to love the Mediterranean salmon. I can get kind-of loud, and it can get kind-of busy, depending on the day, and if some event is happening nearby. But the bar can make you a drink that will ease some of this pain. read more

Accidental find that worked out quite well! I was planning to meet my friend at a nearby restaurant, but we decided to checkout Napolean's instead. I stared with a cup of smoked chicken corn chowder. Very hearty soup. It was served warm, and I would have preferred it to be hotter. The fried shrimp platter had a well-seasoned breading and were a nice size. I'm not sure how I didn't get more photos... actually yes I am. My food was so delicious as soon as it hit the table, I devoured it! We came to Napoleon's to hear Ansley Stewart. She put on an amazing performance! For my entree, I had the smoked wings in the house sauce and the bacon blue cheese tater tots. Both were amazing!!! The sauce was so good and I'm sure I was eating the wings as though I was at home eating them in private. I also shared a margarita pitcher with 2 others and it was more than enough. First time trying this place out after driving by several times. We were looking for a laid back place that had music so decided on Napoleon's. We had the burgers which weren't bad nor great. Our food was decent, but other than that, the place could use a lot of work. Have you ever decided to make a Mojito based on what you have? You look in the fridge and find a few dried out lime chunks, then search through the crisper to find some mint leaves that you bought last week. You might try to make it work since you don't feel like going to the store just to make one drink for yourself. Well, that's what I paid $13.00 for. There was the bonus of the bit of straw wrapper in the drink. Our server was Cathy Ann from SNL. While she was exceedingly friendly, she also seemed easily distractable. At one point, this creepy dude pops up out of nowhere to 'ask us how our food was' very forcefully. It really was disturbing. Since there were kids running around and climbing the walls, I'd recommend turning the place into a Chuck E Cheese or something. With the decor, some sort of Wall World theme would work. This is a solid neighborhood spot especially if you want to sit outside on a nice evening. We had originally planned to go to Fellini's but weren't feeling the vibe there. There was plenty of outdoor seating on a Saturday evening and the inside also wasn't busy at all. My bf had the pot roast and the meat was very tender. He also liked the potatoes it was served upon, but not so much the spinach. I wasn't very hungry so I had a cup of their seasonal soup which was summer squash and an order of 5 smoked wings. They have indoor and outdoor seating, offering tables and booth and bar seating indoors. The stage is in the front, but visible from all seats. The sound quality was great too. Napoleon's is an Italian restaurant located in a small shopping plaza in Decatur. I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and enjoyed the patio. The restaurant has affordable Italian staples and wine. The decor is trendy but the restaurant has a nice mom and pop vibe. We shared bottles of champagne($20-30 per bottle) and artichoke dip. The dip seemed to be freshly made, not your chain restaurant version. They have a large patio that is great for groups. There is also a music venue attached to it for life music fans. went for the jazz jam and it was a great time. the musicians were welcoming and talented. i had a standard burger and fries as well as a coke. it was good. no complaint with the food, really. fairly standard. perhaps a bit pricey, but it wasn't insane. service was very friendly. they were quite busy so it was definitely slow; however, i was there for the jam so it wasn't necessarily problematic. i would certainly come back for the jazz jam. i don't know if i would return for the food itself, though it was tasty. read more

Nice atmosphere and promptly seated. Took my mom for dinner. I previously visited this establishment in 2012. (i believe) and had a good experience but i was a little put off by some of the yelp reviews i read ((even though i taje them with a grain of salt). Google reviews seemed a little more favorable so I said, "what the heck," and decided to go. My mom had the pub pot roast and loved it. Good portion size. I had the house salad -large portion and added fried chicken. Great salad but it was $7.99 for the salad and $3.99 for the chicken; i was a little disappointed with the portion size. Will go back again but will probably try something else that has a larger portion size like my mom's. For the costs of the salad and added chicken the portion should have been larger in my opinion. read more

We eat here sporadically and I always forget to post a review. So here it goes... The place is consistently clean with clean bathrooms. Both the interior and exterior patio are very nice. During warm weather the patio is the place to be. The fountain and plants are really pretty. Food is consistently good with some interesting specials. The chefs seem to be well trained. After dining here for years I cannot recall any bad food. The live music is always great. Lots of classic rock and top 40 hits , 80s music, etc.... Recently they expanded and they opened The Vista which is their live music venue. It requires a cover charge. We are anxious to try it. The one minor downside is that sometimes service is random or sporadic. Not a big deal but it seems like a consistent issue. Typically things like we place an order with a server and then another server shows up to take our order. On another visit we ordered appetizers that never arrived. It was not until our entrees arrived that the server noticed. Overall we really like this place and the patio. Despite minor service issues we still love to dine here. We came back on September 28th 2017. To tired to cook, we were looking forward to a relaxing meal on the patio since the weather was perfect. Unfortunately the experience was disappointing. The waiter was awesome and service was great. All of our food was mediocre to inedible. The chips platter with a trio of dips was meh. The salsa only tasted of mashed tomatoes, no onions, garlic or cilantro, just awful. The guacamole and cheese dip were ok. The fish and chips meal had great fries but the fish was tilapia since they were out of the correct white fish which is the correct fish for this dish. The fish tasted both spoiled and freezer burned with bleach overtones. The server was so nice and typically we enjoy eating here and we didn't want to hurl his feelings. My fried green tomatoes sandwich had two small pieces of hard tomatoes in a grainy breaking. It was definitely an off night for the kitchen. I hope they pay more attention in the future to the food seasoning and quality. read more

Napoleon's is a great little place that's really not so little! My friends and I came here for a trivia tournament this past weekend and I had never realized before that they have a whole other side room they can open up for big events. I was also informed that the entire restaurant was closed for "a private party" (us) so that's something to keep in mind if you're part of group that looks for places like this. We had a limited menu today (I'm assuming because of the private party) but there was something for everyone. My friend and I split the Queso, Guac and Salsa dip appetizer. When it first came out, we thought: hmmm. A little small? But don't let that fool you. It was plenty filling and you got ample amount of chips. A third friend even joined in on the snacking and we still couldn't finish it all. Everything was fresh and delicious. Full of the dip trio, we just didn't need any further food. So we had a few drinks instead. The beer menu here is great, with a great variety of beers and drafts, local breweries and national. The wine list and "special cocktails" list looked pretty varied and affordable too (it's posted on their website if you want to clicky-clicky on the link over there). Another friend joined us and had the burger with mashed potatoes on the side and said it was delicious. Service was lovely. Our server was always nearby without being right in our face, and as people were joining us at different intervals, she always noticed the newcomers and made sure to welcome them and ask if they needed anything. Well done with your staff, Napoleon's! Trivia tournaments like this can get pretty crazy (lots of people) and these folks are great. I can only imagine they're just as great on a normal day. Other deets you want to know: ample, ample free parking out front. It's a non-smoking establishment, but you can smoke on the outdoor patio out front (if you're smoker types). Ordered a sandwich with no mayo, came out with mayo, server took it back and then returned with same sandwich, said the "mayo" was "farmers cheese": sandwich was supposed to have goat cheeses, which it did, but not "farmers cheese". Took two bites to confirm it was mayo. Server said the manager said it was not, did not eat the sandwich, never saw the manager (place was empty) and it was still on the bill. First visit to Napoleons was a pleasant experience. It was on a sunday night. The patio was crowded but the inside was open and a very casual experience. Our server was amazing. She was pleasant, not overbearing, allowed us adequate time to surf the menu without pressure and even brought us a sample of the egg drop soup to try. The drinks were cold and strong. Everybody is very friendly and it's a great neighborhood spot. The smoked wings are everything here. I'll keep coming back for them and the tacos. Overall the food is so much better since they revamped their approach to the menu. I'm never disappointed by the food, but the management of service could step it up a notch by finding the bottleneck and addressing it. The service gets a little hectic sometimes and I think it may be a breakdown in the communication system between the front of house and the kitchen.
