Trying the Chinese breakfast for the first time...Mommy!
Chris H.

Outstanding service and award winning Chinese breakfast. You gotta try this dish before you die.

White Negroni

Service was impeccable - felt like home. Carne Asada brunch item can't be beat - the porky, lardy beans made the entree. Taking half home. And the playlist, even with The Carpenters deep cut of Only Yesterday, set a great brunch mood. Photo of the empty glass of my new favorite drink - White Negroni - included.

Shrimp Ceviche and a Guinness beer

I went here on 5/11/2025. I'm glad that I came here after going to another restaurant that was closed. This place is cool and laid back. I like the vibe neighborhood bar and pub. I was waiting on my food order to be put in for the shrimp ceviche.. First time having one to myself. I tasted from my bro before. I had a Guinness beer while waiting and a glass of water. $1.00 extra chips that are house made warm and delicious..Real nice pretty waitress Remy took care of me..I'm in the area I recently moved around here.

A small friendly place to have great food and drinks with outside seating. Raymie was our awesome server. So personable and knowledgeable of the menu and any specials. Child and wheelchair friendly.

Umami Fries. That's it. That's the review. Jk. In all seriousness, Steinbeck's is a great restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere. I particularly love sitting outside so I can bring my pups. Food is good, service is nice, and drink prices are decent. I truly enjoy visiting!

The Tower of Power Hamburger

Steinbecks was a cool pub with great food! Parking is plentiful in the back or just around the area, and even though it gets busy, the tables open up pretty fast. They tend to have different specials that all sound pretty good, but I went with their famous tower of power burger with eggplant fries. I didn't get a drink either, but heard from friends all the drinks were good! I can def see why the burgers are award winning - the meat was cooked perfectly and was super tender and I loved the sauce that came with it. I should have gotten regular fries though because the eggplant fries were kinda disappointing and flavorless. Overall, Steinbecks was a decent place to go for a nice casual dinner with great staff, drinks, and food!

The Tower of Power Hamburger Crispy Eggplant Fries

Whew. It's a lot of food. Got the famous burger and eggplant fries - delicious. The burger was huge with two patties. Alot to get down. I divided the Pattie's to make a regular burger. It came with lettuce, tomato, thousand island (I assume), bacon, and toasted bun. The eggplant fries were delightful. A little heavy (but they are fried, so). They are topped with oil and crushed red pepper. A little too saturated for taste. Next time just give a good dipping sauce. Beer selection was okay. I selected a good basic Good wi-fi for a working lunch. Definitely will frequent! Only con, it was a very limited menu.

In a proper Irish pub, I feel like Mark Wahlberg could walk in at any moment. He'll sit down at my table, invite me on some kind of bare-knuckle adventure. There will be witty, old-boy banter. We'll go on a tear across the city, probably taking down the Boston mob or something. The women we meet will be beautiful but mysteriously chaste. There will be heavy-handed catholic iconography, probably some very old churches. In the end, we will discover that the problems of the human condition were inside our hearts this whole time. There will be spiritual growth by means of a boxing match. Steinbeck's makes me feel like this, oh yes. John Steinbeck was Irish-American, and the blend makes sense here. Sure, it's a little different than the setup in my native northeast. The snug spots for sitting are outside, to take advantage of our warm climate. They serve a perfect Guinness pour (classic!) and a very nice cocktail program. Craft beer abounds, but the list is thoughtfully curated instead of being too-much. The kitchen serves elevated comfort food; think brisket hash, house-smoked wings, extremely high-quality burgers. The menu is very forward-looking while giving a shout to traditional pub fare. I suggest putting on your scratchiest sweater and visiting on a cold night. It's very humane place, sprinkled with possibility.

The Tower of Power burger. Sooooo good!

Stopped in for a drink or two, but stayed a little bit longer for the music and The vibes. I was there on a weekend night, and it was super chill and had a really good performance situation happening on stage. This one is a little bit weird because you have to do certain things to be able to get in. It's not like it's an escape room situation, but at the same time, it's a little active. Not overly active to where you would be taxed when you get there. But you have to go follow some instructions and once you get in it's all gravy! There's a lot of space for table so you can sit in front of the stage or you can sit in the back or the bar is which is also very pristinely kept. Or their ceas behind that. And there's even a bowl of alley somewhere in the cut. It is a really really good spot. The entertainment was on point. They were playing a lot of hits, lot of old school which I appreciate it. Loved it. The drinks were fired. The bartender had a lot of personality and it was super engaging. Just what you want from Superior customer service. I would 101% go back. They have so many different tiki cocktails that you can choose from. They are mostly made of rum, but they have a few other ones that are made with different alcohols. Me and my wife both got our own drinks. Hers was a special Valentine's Day themed drink that was on the menu, and mine was one of the tequila/mezcal tiki drinks. Both tasted really good! The presentation was just as good too! You aren't limited to these though, it's a full bar, so you can get whatever you want. They also have a few food options, but very limited. Our bartender, Heather, was super nice as well. My wife had asked (when I went to the restroom) if they did anything for birthdays, since my birthday was a few days prior.
