Leon's is a new fav in Decatur! We came for a friends birthday and the food was phenomenal! Like every other spot in downtown Decatur, you just have to know your preferred lots/streets for parking in (not sharing my secrets for best parking lol) so definitely give yourself time to park and walk over. Their reservation system was down when we went so we ended up waiting about 20-30 min for a table. I shared their fries bucket for the app and I had the crispy confit chicken for dinner. We ended up paying extra for more sauces and some were a hit like the aoli and the sesame soy, but the hot sauce was just a normal Tabasco like sauce so I didn't think it was worth paying for. I had the crispy chicken confit for my dinner and it was amazing!! No notes!! The pork belly that my fiance got was also super tender and flavorful. Stopped by Leon's Full Service in Decatur with my family, and we ordered a little bit of everything! My little sister kept it simple with the grilled chicken, fresh raw veggies, fresh lemonade, and ice cream for dessert. She was happy, so that's what matters! We started with the bucket of fries for the table and sampled all the dipping sauces: garlic aioli, sweet chili BBQ, and Diablo. The Diablo wasn't spicy like I expected, but it had really great flavor. The garlic aioli was my personal favorite, while the sweet chili BBQ was the crowd favorite around the table. For my meal, I ordered the blackened burger with bacon and jalapeños, plus the kale Caesar salad. Adding the bacon and jalapeños was definitely the right move! The burger was juicy, flavorful, and incredibly filling. The kale Caesar was much larger than I expected, so keep that in mind if you're ordering it as a side. We also tried the pork belly, which I'd give a 7.5/10. It was good, but it wasn't the standout dish of the meal. For drinks, the Seed Spitter was incredibly fresh and refreshing, and the Strawberry Delight was another solid choice. Loved Leon's at Lunch!!! (Bonus points for alliteration). This was a fabulous lunch option in DT Decatur. To be honest, I'm not sure where else I would have gone for lunch right in/ around the square. Their menu is pretty limited at lunch, but we felt it sufficient given every menu item was a hit! They have very nice covered patio options-- perfect on a NICE day! I can't wait to go back. This would be a great place to meet a friend or colleague for lunch. We (as a group) tried four of their craft summer cocktails and they were all winners. The Jean Claude Pandan gets a special shout out for having the best name. Leon's is a cool laidback place in downtown Decatur. It's a bit loud at times and the sound echoes, but it's not too bad and still a good date place. They have a delicious and varied cocktail menu. The service is good, very friendly and knowledgeable, my only complaint is that the drink service is a bit slow. Food is great, I've not had anything I didn't like some of my favorites are the delicious burger, the flat iron steak is yummy, poppadews in the apps are great, the muscles and the fry basket with dipping sauces. read more

The menu is limited. Vegan & vegetarian options are extremely limited. In fact, close to none. Something that stuck out was that there wasn't a single appetizer that interested us. Not one and we almost always get something. Well, my companion anyway. The smoked tuna open faced sandwich and fries were not having a particularly good day. Fries were overcooked and infused with too much oil. The tuna salad was swimming in mayonnaise which diluted the flavour of the smoked tuna. The dominant flavour was celery. Not what the chef was aiming for I'll bet. Everything was salty. The burger is excellent per my companion. He liked the fries which were identical to mine, which goes to show how different people experience things Dessert was a shared peach crisp with vanilla ice cream. Now this was good. My companion felt he should bump his rating to 4. A lovely thought. The dining area is charming enough. Nice energy. Be warned, it's loud even on a Thursday. The acoustics are skewed loud. It's nice like this here. Lends to the overall feel. The patio is lovely and I love that Leon's is dog friendly. Too bad my dog will not see it... The place does have a good playlist! Apparently it depends on what the bartender selects on Spotify. I love that. The service was good and friendly. Accommodating. Prompt and well choreographed between the 3 servers we were fortunate to have. The prices were as expected. I can't say if it was good value because I just can't decide. So it is a 2-pronged rating. I give Leon's a 3 while my companion feels like 3 is too low so 4 is his especially after dessert and the music. He's too easy. We won't return because the menu isn't to our taste. I am a fan of Leon's for a few reasons but the top two are the craft cocktails and the service/servers. On this visit, I stopped in for a few bites and to check out the fall cocktail menu. Adorable indoor/outdoor spot in Decatur. The staff was fantastic, very friendly and hospitable. I love how they change their menu often and run daily specials. We sat in their outdoor area next to a beautiful mural, and started off with some cocktails. Solid cocktail menu. After that we split the ricotta cheese appetizer. Good app, needed a little red or black pepper. Then I ordered the salad and roasted carrots. My gf had the burger and fries. The fries sounded so great on the menu, but were a bit of a bummer. What a fun & relaxed couple of hours on their patio. Last time we came we were inside. Either is lovely, but the weather was nice so... Took a minute to get someone to acknowledge us, actually had to stop a server who was the SWEETEST & apologized profusely. She took our full order since we were literally so hungry! Wine came first, followed by our appetizer; Peppadews. Cream cheese stuffed peppers with basil. Cream cheese could have had more seasoning, but they were delicious!! Leon's is in the most walkable city around! There is so much to see and eat in this area as the streets are lined with restaurants. With competition like this it's hard to decide where to go. I literally smelled Leon's and decided that was the spot! It's a pretty big restaurant with multiple outdoor areas and bars inside. The cocktail menu is extensive and has a great variety! Two of us arrived before the other two and we were seated immediately. Our ser server was wonderful. She had recommendations and helped guide our drink and dinner choices. Leon's full service has caught my eye several times while being in Downtown Decatur. I recently had the opportunity to volunteer and received a gift card to Leon's so I made it my mission to enjoy. I had already seen so many delicious items online so I was really hyped to go. When I arrived it was a very cool environment. I asked for a solo booth and they had the perfect lil spot for me. I reviewed the menu and knew I wanted the bacon in the glass which was super good even the peanut butter sauce was tasty. Based on the menu I went with my usual "The Burger" lol I played it safe overall though the burger was supper good as well as the frites and sauces. I rated this place a 4 start because I know I will be back to try something else. All in all everyone in there was super sweet and helpful. Def a new spot for me. read more

You could not get their attention. My cocktail glass was empty for over 30 minutes.. I could not get anyone's attention at all. We weren't in the mood for brunch (breakfast) food but found their menu to be elevated American cuisine. Burgers, salads, hand cut fries, but there's also flatbread, pork belly and mussels that make the offerings diverse. The ambiance is relaxed and chill. Lots of outdoor seating on both sides of the restaurant and a fully stocked bar. The cloth napkins and flatware are on the table, still water is served in glass bottles and you can request condiments like ketchup but it's not on the table. Hubby had a hankering to go out for dessert. After a search online, we decided on this place. The main part of the restaurant is L-shaped, with the entrance the inner corner of the L, the bar area at one of the legs and dining at the other leg, which seems like a good idea so that bar noise isn't disturbing diners. There's also a nice patio area with heaters to dine. The seats in the dining area were an eclectic mix of booths, tables, and high-tops. Our waitress, Kelly, was sweet and informative. Hubby asked about a drink on their menu and I asked about the vegan ice cream in their sundae. Kelly easily answered our questions and was spot on. We ordered the ice cream sundae and the apple almond cake. I wasn't sure about ordering the sundae since the ice cream is vegan and I don't regularly eat vegan. But Kelly told me that it's really creamy. The sundae was delicious, even though it didn't seem to have the pistachios or the caramel that was on the description in the menu. While the location is prime--it's on the busiest corner downtown--the food, service, and ambiance were underwhelming. It wasn't packed but it wasn't empty either. I had the Dr. Nemesis cocktail that was so tasty! It's base was brandy with a sweet and sour combination with a nice kick. We had the "burger" interesting straight to the point name. It was cooked to perfection and seasoned well. It tasted like it came right off a grill. We also had the Butter Trout Roll that was to die for! I've tried all kinds of fish and normally I get disappointed by how dry, overcooked they turn out with no flavor but I was pleasantly surprised by how well they cooked this trout. Not dry and flavorful. Almost juicy. The butter roll complimented the trout so well. Absolutely loved it. Also, love the fact that you have multiple sauce options for the fries. Ambiance and service gets a solid 5/5. I loved the vibe and wouldn't mind being back here again. Rum old fashioned was solid. It is a part of their summer drink line up. It is a rum blend with banana, bitters, all spice and orange peel. If you drink old fashioned-s regularly, you'll appreciate the allspice. I ordered the hangar steak frites. I came in on a Monday night, so maybe that's throwing off their stock, but the steak serving was underwhelming. It was cooked to perfection, but it felt like I ordered fries with a side of steak. Please up the size of the steak, as it is a bit disappointing to be full from the sides than from the actual dish. It comes with a side of horse radish. It isn't really strong but it is good. The frites had truffle and cheese with garlic. Overall decent, but for $36 it feels left to be desired with the lack of a size-able steak. I would pay slightly more if it meant a bigger steak to match the amount of frites. I also ordered the crispy brusselsprouts . It is glazed in the balsamic vinegar and is indeed crispy. It comes with a side of ranch. Personally, not necessary but it is pretty good with it. There weren't that many actual brusselsprouts, more of the crispy leaves cooked off the vegetable. Overall I'd say it's a solid place to be at. Would come by again to try the desserts. read more
