Date night here is always the best. From the ambiance, to the service, and food, nothing ever disappoints. I recommend reservations ahead of time, or if you get in early, try the bar seats. The cocktails here are always great, and if you're not a drinker, they have zero proof mocktails. The wood fire grilled oysters are always a go to. They used to have the blue crab claws as a small plate, but I'm bummed it was off the menu. Our server, Alex, made sure our waters were always filled and made sure everything was up to par. Shout out to Alex!

Our reservation was at 5:00 and they don't open the doors until right at 5:00. We went for our anniversary and at least five of the staff wished us a happy anniversary, that was nice. We started with the Hawaiian roll and it's delicious! warm, fluffy and the sprinkle is salt on top is perfect. I could've eaten three by myself! But we only got one and split it (they're huge). We also had the wood-fired oysters. They're fully cooked and the garlic butter sauce is perfect. We chose non-alcoholic drinks, also good. I had the ricotta ravioli and the sauce was amazing! He had the filet mignon, which was also delicious and cooked perfectly. As a gift, they gave us each a glass of non-alcoholic champagne on the house! We were seated in a corner booth with a great view of the restaurant. The service was fantastic from start to finish.

We went to Kimball House for a birthday celebration and were looking forward to our meal because we had heard so many good things about this place. We started with zero proof cocktails, Hawaiian rolls, some cocktail shrimp and oysters. Those all came out fast and were delicious. Unfortunately, the same can't be said about the rest of our meal. We had a 6 pm reservation and at 8:45, had still not received our entrees. We had been told the kitchen made a mistake at 7:45 and that our meal would right up. We were also told that management would come speak with us. We were not checked on during this long wait until we asked for our check at 8:45. At this point our food appeared, but was not hot and was under seasoned. The fish skin was rubbery and we still had to wait several minutes for a side. The manager comped our entrees for the wait, which we appreciated. But for a restaurant of this caliber, we hoped they'd have been more apologetic and maybe thrown in a complimentary dessert or side. We were impressed by the first half our meal, but after nearly 3 hours, they lost us. It was even more disappointing that it was a birthday celebration and the experience was so bad.

As someone who isn't an oyster novice. This review won't hold much weight, but I can say my dining experience at Kimball House was great and it lives up to the hype. Me and my friend ordered a variety of Oysters with the best one in my opinion being the Glacier Point. They tasted amazing! Although I'm not an oyster novice I am however an expert on Negronis, and The Green Apple Negroni is one of the best I've ever had. It's the perfect combination of bitter and sweet. It truly was amazing. The service at the bar was exceptional! I will definitely be back, and will be sure to explore the menu more. I understand the hype now.

We stopped by Kimball House late in the evening spontaneously for the bar, and I really enjoyed the experience. We explained we were here for the bar at the host stand, but since we came at a later time and there were open tables they offered to seat us at a table! That was very sweet and thoughtful of them, and I definitely preferred sitting at the table than on the high top chairs at the bar. I ordered 2 drinks because I wanted something on the sweeter side. Our server recommended me a drink, it was very interesting with a green color and little darker drops on top, and had an apple flavor. It was good, but very strong in alcohol flavor for me. I also tried the Afternoon Delight hoping it would be sweeter, and it was also very good but still quite strong for me. I do recommend coming here if you like stronger drink flavors to sip on, it just wasn't a good match for me and my sweet tooth. Both drinks were very decorated very nice, and the Afternoon Delight came with a little flower which was cute. The interior and ambiance was really cool and vibey, and I would recommend giving this spot a visit!

We went here for my wife's birthday and it was incredible. The service is great - attentive and friendly. The food was phenomenal. We did an assortment of 16 oysters which they let out in order so you know which ones you are enjoying. My wife likes but doesn't love oysters and she ate half of them which is saying something about the quality and freshness of the oyster. The beef tartare, Hawaiian rolls, filet mignon and kale Caesar were also excellent. The drinks were incredible. I think the midnight club was the best - think mezcal old fashioned. Incredible experience! We will be back!

Amazing food! Always a great time at Kimball House. The food here is excellent and if you ever wanted to try a different dish (like caviar) this is the place to do so. The quality of the food is excellent. Service is great and the atmosphere is cozy. Second time here and hoping to come back! I do like the filet more than the ribeye. Try the Pommes Macaire (soft potato inside and crispy on the outside). My husband loves the Caviar & Middlins. The grilled oysters were delicious too. We tried so many different foods this day while celebrating our friends birthdays.

You can add this to my top list of Atlanta restaurants! Brought my husband for his first birthday dinner and we had the best food and service! Cocktails here are truly unmatched - naturally we started with two that were recommended by our awesome server. We also started off with a few oysters, tuna Crudo, beef tartare, and the AMAZING rolls (drooling) My husband got the duck for his entree and I got the Spinalis steak which just so happened to MELT in my mouth. Ordered it Medium rare and added AuPoivre sauce which made me want to SLAP someone's momma omg... Lastly for dessert, pecan Paris Brest which was so good because it was light but a little sweet Overall, the ingredients are so fresh - most all farm to table. Will dream about Kimball until next time in Decatur...

From the service, the drinks, and the amazing food, HIGHLYYYY recommend this place. I loved everything. It's in such a great area and still kind of tucked away. The team works so well together and I really enjoyed my time here. Will be back!

Kimball House is the place to go for raw oysters in Atlanta, period. Will you pay a pretty penny? Yes. Is it worth it? Also, yes. Generally speaking the service is top notch, but we have had two very mediocre experiences. I prefer to sit at the bar. The restaurant is well known for their cocktails so be prepared for that. I highly recommend the crab claws and pork belly wraps. Also love the tartare.

This place is a must try and a must reserve. There was a line waiting to run to the bar for those who didn't. And all for good reason. There wasn't a drink or dish that we didn't love. The Hawaiian rolls are a must and make sure to get your own because you aren't going to share and shouldn't. The oysters were fresh and there wasn't quite the variety. The steak was perfectly cooked, the fish dishes were amazing. But to me the best was the duck. It was cooked so well and packed with flavor. This place is must and it looks great inside, like an old library. The wait staff was great and very knowledgeable. A must try.

    Rolls

So I think this place is a little overrated. The food is good don't get me wrong but it's not out of this world great. I think it's worth it to try once but I wouldn't go back. The flavor profile tastes like it's ALMOST there but in every dish it didn't feel quite complete. I will say I've never had a more perfectly cooked steak, just wish there was more flavor. I also don't love that they add an Asian flare to their steaks/sides. Oysters were incredible, drinks were great, and service was great too

They have so many different tiki cocktails that you can choose from. They are mostly made of rum, but they have a few other ones that are made with different alcohols. Me and my wife both got our own drinks. Hers was a special Valentine's Day themed drink that was on the menu, and mine was one of the tequila/mezcal tiki drinks. Both tasted really good! Our bartender, Heather, was super nice as well. My wife had asked (when I went to the restroom) if they did anything for birthdays, since my birthday was a few days prior. We visited Voss Lounge on Wednesday, April 1, excited for happy hour after seeing their Instagram flyer advertising $5 drinks, small apps, and hookah. Well...that's not exactly what we got. Once we arrived, we were told those $5 specials were actually for Tuesdays--not Wednesdays--and that detail was not clear on Instagram. I was told it was listed on their website, but let's be real...this is 2026--people are checking IG and TikTok, not websites. If you're promoting on social media, it needs to be accurate. We got there around 4:15 PM (happy hour starts at 4), and the place was empty--music wasn't even on yet. My party of four was seated right away, and we ordered drinks, food, and hookah. The lounge itself was beautiful--decked out in red and black with a really nice vibe. I had lemon drops and wings--both were actually really good. No complaints on the food or drink at all. But just know, the wings were not $5 since that special didn't apply that day. Now...the hookah experience? A complete mess. The hookah wasn't $5 either--it was $25 if I recall correctly. The hookah attendant recommended a flavor that was honestly not good at all. When we told her we didn't like it and asked to switch flavors (which we were willing to pay for), she tried to make us purchase a refill instead of simply fixing the issue. We asked to speak to a manager. She went to the back and spoke with someone who I later found out was the owner--but he never came out to address us. That alone didn't sit right with me. Instead, she came back, grabbed the hookah, and walked off. No explanation, no replacement--nothing. It felt like, "We won't charge you, but you're also not getting another one." That whole situation completely turned us off. Now I will give credit where it's due--our waitress was an absolute sweetheart. Friendly, attentive, and she did her best to take care of us. But overall, between the misleading Instagram promotion, the poor hookah experience, and the lack of management presence...this just wasn't it for me. Giving Voss 2/5 for good food, a beautiful space, and a great waitress Everything else? Needs work. Unfortunately, I won't be back!
