We live in the neighborhood and have been going here for years, but in the same year's quality consistently declines. Drinks? Great. Food? don't waste your money. everytime you think you're ok with what they're serving, something has been cut. Brussels and brats for example used to have whole sausage (2), now slivers of maybe 1. Used to order a burger and it came with fries now they've cheaped to just chips that you have to ask for. Salads are outrageous for what you get. While I don't think I got to truly experience Midway Pub in the way it was meant to be experienced, I really liked what I got. So due to COVID, everything was outside which was the biggest change I assume in the establishment. You walk up to a counter, order, and if you want to leave a tab open you could. Once your order is ready (both drink and food) they call your name and you pick it up. There is very little human interaction here due to the regulations. I got their Chicken sandwich and a Greek salad. The chicken sandwich was so spicy. I like a spicy chicken sandwich and this was it! I only wish I had more to drink to cool down my mouth. The Greek salad was great, but the only thing I didn't like was that there were so many hot peppers in there. Like TONS! For my drink, I got their hard apple cider which was my favorite thing of the night. I had two it was so good. Perfect for a cool night in Atlanta. The downside to their COVID set up is everything is line based so if you've got a tab open you have to get in the same line as the people who never ordered to either get another drink or close it out. So there tends to be a lot of standing around if it gets busy. I'm thankful they were open, so believe me I'm not saying anything truly bad about it, but it was a pain point in an overall great experience. Midway is my neighborhood watering hole. Right on the edge of the East Atlanta Village and right where you can actually find parking and have elbow room. Good food options. Full bar. Good vibes. Pretty solid all around. They have by far the layout for service based on the health and safety conscious society we live in now. You give your order to a server soon as you walk in the building, they call you up to get your food, you find your own seat, and you enjoy. No close contact, orders are fast, and everyone's safe. The midway Pub's outside is open. They have a decent size outside area and they take COVID-19 precautions seriously. I felt safe while enjoying their food and drink. I had an Aligash White beer ($5) and Nashville fried chicken with fries. The chicken was of good quality and the seasoning and sauce was great. I believe it was $10. Although I wish it was bigger in size it tasted great and I would gladly accept quality over quantity. The chicken could have been spicier but I'm a spice head so I'm sure it is good for the regular hot chicken goer. I was told the fries were new style to the menu and decided to try them. I am usually "meh" about fries but these were garlic aioli that had a little crisp breading that made them unlike your typical fries. They cost ($5) so I am happy I got what I paid for. My date had the chicken biscuit with cheese n bacon. I had a bite and the salty of the chicken n bacon with the buttery sweet of the biscuit was delicious with first bite and continued to have a linger shout to my taste buds to take another bite. I will be back to enjoy their outdoor Pub again and when they full open the inside I will give them my business because they are doing something right and I want to find more of that. read more

First of all, you have to try this place at least once just for the "Walking Tacos". Its a shell-less taco inside a bag of fritos. Delicious! I had it with Beyond meat instead of real meat and it was still delicious. I also had a fried chicken sandwich and by bf had the catfish and grits. The grits were super creamy. The Midway is a great big local bar in East Atlanta. There are five, yes 5, different areas you can enjoy: the long bar, inside seating at tables or booths, the open-air patio, covered patio, or the Tiki bar (Tiki bar gets five stars). I usually sit at the bar because my friends are always there and the serves are fantastic. The bartenders remember you and are so friendly (they get 5 stars). They have a ton of TVs and bring out the big screens for soccer matches. The bar is a viewing spot for Atlanta United, specifically the support club Footie Mob, and I'm sure other sports and their support clubs, but know don't them. It gets packed, so if you want seats, then come early, or you might be standing. I have eaten many things from this place over the .... let's not count the year. My original go-to was the veggie corn dogs with the fantastic creole honey mustard (I could drink this stuff), garlic pretzel bites, or the beer cheese dip. I have eaten my fair share of the grilled cheeses or Guinness chicken tenders with tots and their veggie burger. Notice my theme of cheese. Now, 2020, that I am Keto, I will not be eating any of those and will stick with the wings. read more

This was another spot in my DiningOut coupon book. I decided to go here since it was close to my work downtown. I went during lunch with my coworker and it was not crowded. I liked the atmosphere and set up. It was seat yourself. They have high backed booths with outlets in them which was awesome. There is street parking and a parking lot kind caddy cornered behind flatiron and the midway pub. Our waitress was nice and knowledge of the menu. I ordered the fish and chips. It looked good and the portion was good. The fries were the best part of the meal though. The fish was cooked well however there was not an ounce of seasoning! lol the batter was tasteless and greasy. I wouldn't mind the grease if it had some flavor. The tarter sauce made it better. My coworker had the double burger with Brunswick stew. He says and I quote "it was a really good burger and the stew was some of the best he's had. Not gonna lie, I was skeptical at first when my taco came in a Fritos bag--but it was delicious. Good selection of beer, good food--yes bar food but you could tell it was dressed up. I did find it a little awkward that you have to walk up to a window and order and have your name shouted out for pickup vs someone dropping it off at the table. But overall enjoyable place! I worried that service would be spotty out there, but no problem at all. Several dogs in attendance. Beer. They have it. Solid draft list and tons of bottles/cans. Wings - regular style, hot. Excellent. Not undercooked like a lot of places. Hot is decently spicy. Green chili - pleasing. Not the best green chili I've had but maybe the best around here. The tortilla chips with melted cheese were a bit stale but I didn't need them. My wife had the arugula salad and the soup of the day (some sort of light vegetarian thing). She was pleased with both. A friend's picture of the Grit Cake BBQ Stack is what got me curious about this Pub. And it was well worth the visit. This is way better than pub grub. Locally-sourced food plus some creativity in the kitchen makes for a very cool menu. Traditional fare is right alongside more innovative creations. It's a menu worth exploring. Staff is very friendly, attentive, and personable. Our servers took very good care of us. There's a giant, outdoor patio that is perfect for any kind of gathering. And The Midway Pub seems to be frequented by local and loyal regulars. My Grit Cake BBQ Stack (sold as an appetizer) made for a very good dinner. The grit-cakes are crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The BBQ is good, and the fresh apple chutney is what really defines this dish--very nice, indeed. Add some fresh tots to that, and I'm a happy guy. The Veggie Corn Dogs are a hit. I mean really, how can you go wrong with a corn dog? (I only wish I wasn't allergic to soy.) Apart from one slightly overcooked burger on the table, everything we ordered was excellent. The Midway Pub is a smoking establishment--18 and over only. Normally this is a major turn-off for me, but on the night of our visit, I didn't have much of a problem with what little smoking was going on around. Being outside must certainly help. If you're looking to kickback and relax(or turn up), then this is definitely also a great pre-game spot before going to do something else. I simply went with my regular of whiskey. I was hungry this evening so I decided to get the Double Burger. It was a double pattied burger with cheese, pickles, tomato, lettuce, toasted bun. Simple but tasty. The burger was large enough to tame the beast called hunger while also being cooked perfectly medium like I asked. The cheedar simply topped everything off. Also, i'm a tater tot lover and this place definitely understands the importance of perfectly lightly crisped tots being a welcomed addition to any smart person's life. The Midway Pub was alright. Came in with a group of 7 for lunch on a friday. The waitress was as sweet as can be and her service was excellent. The mango mimosas were delicous but the bloody mary's fell short and were only served with a slice of lemon and lime. It was only about 2 pm they were out of three of the things my table ordered already. My food was good, I enjoyed it, but it wasn't outstanding. My friend ordered the falafel pita and it came with just one small piece of falafel in it. She asked for more and was given a bowl of falafel crumbs, so it seemed they were about to run out of that too.
